  1. Perhaps, but I was thinking more along the lines of trading Henry plus our 2nd rounder for a 1st rounder. Henry + a #2, I would think, should interest somebody in the mid-1st round range. I think it's more likely to happen than getting a #2 for Henry.
  2. Just wondering what folks would prefer. If Henry could somehow (in our dreams) be traded straight up for a #2, that would give us option 1 (two second rounders, no first rounder). Some folks are suggesting trading Henry + another pick to move up. If we package Henry with our second rounder, that might get us back into the first round and option 2 (basically, no second rounder). I'm interested to hear what people think is the better situation, since first rounders (like everyone else) are a crapshoot, but they cost a lot. Second rounders, while also a crapshoot, cost less. Obviously, if Henry could only be traded for a #3 at best, that wouldn't be as good as option 1, so I didn't put it down.
  3. Believe it or not, abstinence programs probably don't work. But hey, let's throw another $130 million at it and see if we can force it to work. Sure beats forcing insurance companies to cover the cost of contraception.
  4. If we can just get one more guard, I'm sure Drew Bledsoe will be able to elevate his play!
  5. American kids don't know jack about our freedoms I'll pause while I wait for someone to point out how this is all the fault of the damn lefties...
  6. Perhaps, but the problem is that Lindell is being paid to be more than just a guy who's steady from inside 40. He may be that, but as the highest paid kicker in team history I would expect he would at least be better than Christie. In his 9 seasons with the team, Christie had only 1 season when he hit less than 50% from 40-49 yards. In his career with the Bills, Christie was hitting over 70% from 40-49 yards. That's a very respectable number in any setting. If Lindell could do it before coming to Buffalo, then that's fine. But if he can't do it after coming to Buffalo, then how is he that much of a benefit to us? I just can't see shelling out a ton of money (kicker-wise) for the guy. Yes, it's good to have a steady guy from inside 40, but you need more than that in this league.
  7. Whew...thought this was going to be another thread looking for a replacement for Bledsoe...
  8. Funny...I originally wrote "had" but changed it since I'm still not sure if he'll be around next year (after training camp, that is). You never know with TD...
  9. That's the highest-paid kicker in Bills history, friends. And that's just the ones we actually tried to kick. How many did we not even try because of that percentage? For having the best special teams unit in the league, we sure have a major handicap with this guy.
  10. As much as David Carr has been sacked as the Texans' QB, I can only imagine (and enjoy the daydream of) the complete disaster that would have been, had RJ been the starter for that team. I think they would have ended the season with negative passing yards.
  11. Did I miss something here? When did RJ ever go to Houston?
  12. Perhaps then we could have a 'cleansing' ceremony where we all chuck the DVD into Lake Erie?
  13. I still just don't understand why everybody seems to think that Parcells would like to have Bledsoe back. I see no reason to believe Parcells could accomplish the same with Bledsoe as he did back in '96...nor any reason to believe Parcells would somehow buy into this thinking. As much as I dislike Parcells, I don't think he's an idiot. Why would he have any interest whatsoever in doing this?
  14. I never had a C64 myself, but I remember my RA in college had one in his dorm room and was always playing some cool-looking games. I remember using Vic-20's in high school for some projects. I remember not being able to do very much with them. My first connection with the Internet was with my dad's old terminal (can't recall the name) connected with a 300-baud modem coupler to the phone. You could read the words as they came across the lines. My friend had a TRS-80. It was so cool waiting half an hour for "Temple of Apshai" to load from the tape drive.
  15. Darn. I thought you were going to tell us you are a bad person...
  16. Yeah, I agree with Dan on this...the OT was not exactly the same. I have no particularly good feelings for V or VI; IV was a great film, but it doesn't blind me in any way from seeing the horridness of the later films. Yes, there was certainly come campiness to IV, and some particularly unattractive dialog in parts, but nothing compared to the drivel in the later movies. Plus, the acting quality took a nosedive with the prequels.
  17. Now there's a name that should bring shivers to any Bills fan's spine!
  18. Episodes I and II were so spectacularly bad that I won't even bother to see III until it's on HBO. I don't even know who most of these characters are, or what the frigging plot is all about. And that's compounded by some of the worst writing and acting in all of moviemaking. If you calculate "quality" (writing, acting, directing) per dollar amount spent, I would think Episodes I and II are probably the worst in Hollywood history.
  19. You're right. Except for that big game that Drew played in and got New England into the Super Bowl a couple of years back. And except for the fact that Gannon and Drew both have played well enough to win the same number of Super Bowls. Not that I disagree with you, or anything. I'd like to see Gannon here as the backup. I think he and Bledsoe are a toss-up for the #2 spot if they come at the right price. Edge to Bledsoe since he knows the offense already.
  20. One thing for certain is to make sure Animal Control knows about this dog anytime anything like this happens. They want to know about any episodes like this, so if necessary they can remove the dog.
  21. If you watch the AFC Championship game from the week prior, when we creamed the Raiders 51-3, Norwood attempts and misses a 45-yarder in that game. On the turf. In decent weather conditions. He missed it, you guessed it, wide right. By the same margin...about a foot. With the same amount of leg in the kick. It's quite alarming how similar the kicks look. Quite the foreshadowing.
  22. That's a pretty shallow argument. There is plenty that could happen that COULD alter TO's career in such a way that he is no longer the player he was. Personally, I can't even imagine the difficulty coming to a decision on this one. I'm certain if he takes one step on the field every Patriot player will be gunning for that ankle. It could really mess up that ankle.
