  1. "There's nobody more disappointed and frustrated than those guys in the locker room."
  2. The main problem is that we underperform at too many positions on the line, but we can't realistically replace every lousy lineman with somebody else who is immediately better. I actually think we will probably go into next year with the same tackles, Gandy and Peters. Not great tackles, but they are at least average. I guess I'm willing to overlook Gandy's big whiff on Saturday that allowed Holcomb to get splattered. The interior is where we really need change. I think the jury is still out on what will happen to Teague and Villarial, if only because we may need bodies. I think Preston is given the chance to take over the center spot, but the question is, is Teague too expensive to keep around anyway? Villarial, IMO, will probably be given the opportunity to keep the RG spot, but I don't know if he's more expensive than his worth. Then there's LG. If there was ever a position I would like to see a name free agent come in to patch a spot, that would be it. The salary saved by slicing Williams and Anderson should cover that. A high draft pick (or two) at tackle or guard should provide adequate depth and preparation for beyond that.
  3. My dad, when he was alive, was a huge Bills fan and he really understood a lot of what went on during a game. He used to tell me that he never worried about what happened on each team's opening drive. More important was how the other team reacted and played from the second drive on. Think Super Bowls. It doesn't take long for NFL teams (well, smart NFL teams) to figure out what the other team is doing offensively and to react. To me, this season has shown me that the Bills are easy to figure out, and can't do a whole lot of figuring out themselves. Like I said a few days ago, figuring out Belichick is like trying to do the Saturday NY Times crossword...figuring out Mularkey is like doing the daily Jumble.
  4. My wife, who is no football fan to speak of, noticed that they said that and asked me if I agreed with them. The only thing I could think of saying was, "That depends on what direction you think is the right direction. If you think the right direction is backwards, then sure, they're well on their way."
  5. Honestly, I'm more of the saucy Anchor Bar type than the crispy, dry type.
  6. Just what I was going to say. We were loving Mularkey at this point last year. Dolphins fans can turn on their coach faster than....well, faster than Bills fans can turn on theirs.
  7. The team is going forward?
  8. Oh cool. Another Wade thread.
  9. Someone should ask MM this on "Ask Mike Mularkey." I'd like to hear his spin on this one.
  10. I think Conan the Destroyer would be more appropriate for us.
  11. That was great...although he lost me when he had McGahee saying phrases like "albeit a tiny, negligible amount"...
  12. Problem is, for the Bills third and short is more along the lines of third and 9.
  13. Damn good stuff
  14. I think you might be on to something there. However, that would mean admitting that 3/5 of our offensive line is already on the team. Good God, how can that be possible?!? Well, he could be at the level of Pucillo....
  15. And we'll all be able to see the boot mark as well.
  16. But if you listen to MM and TD, Posey has actually been playing very very well for us.
  17. Sounds like he'd be a perfect fit for this team.
  18. From Nick's excellent recount of his time in Buffalo, I'm not sure we even need to be concerned with protesting. Sounds like housecleaning's coming regardless.
  19. I any of our picks in the first three rounds are anything other than an OL or DL, I'm going to be pissed. If any of them are a RB or WR, I'll probably have to buy a new TV.
  20. Nick, that was easily the most entertaining post...ever. I am so incredibly jealous. Sitting between Van and Modrak? Meeting with nearly everyone on staff? Getting on the field, and in the press conferences? What a trip. I'd give anything to spend a couple hours sitting next to Van at a game. The best part was getting to hear some inside stuff at a time when people are dying for inside stuff. The Moulds comment was...interesting. I have my suspicions. The comments on the front office are intriguing. I'm guessing Ralph ripped everyone a new one in the locker room before the press conferences. My stepfather is from England so we've been there a couple times, and the wife and I are hitting Scotland next year. Perhaps next time we're over there we can look you up.
  21. Wait, give me a sec...I know this one...
  22. I think we do have some talent on this team, for sure. We really lack that talent on both lines, and I really wouldn't worry much about the rest of the players. However, what we really lack are coaches who can put it all together. Trying to figure out New England's offense and defense is like trying to do the Saturday NY Times crossword. Trying to figure out our offense and defense is like trying to do the daily Jumble.
  23. Don't worry, most here would never have touched Belichick with a ten foot pole a few years ago. He was a loser.
