Good reply, but I really think this isn't a matter of dropped passes or Moulds and JP not being on the same page. I've been watching him over the past few weeks, and he just doesn't seem to have the skill advantage anymore. His speed is no longer an advantage, and he's incapable of evading tacklers. He's become, essentially, a possession receiver. Not a bad thing, and I'd like to keep him in that capacity, but that's probably not an option.

Careful, though. Sounds like the same argument as with Bledslow.

I just don't know what we should do with this guy. Watching him this season has been a bit painful at times. I really think he's a shadow of his former self, our offensive line notwithstanding. Eric has reached the point in his career where one-on-one coverage is no longer an advantage for him. Even injury-riddled secondaries can blanket him on deep routes. Swing passes seem to now be the best way to get him the ball, but he's no longer able to beat the first tackler. He has slowed down and isn't difficult to bring down. I doubt teams worry about double-teaming him any longer, which is probably (one reason) why Lee isn't benefitting as much this year being on his opposite side. I still think he has a role to play, but it's hard to justify that kind of cash for someone who is no longer a true #1 WR threat. I'd hate to see him go (mostly because I have doubts that Lee and Roscoe would be an effective 1-2 combo), but I think it will happen after this year unless he agrees to a pay cut. Not likely.

Aside from that hideous fumble, I did think he played fairly well, given the circumstances. I liked his mobility and arm. I really think he will do well, given some semblance of a pocket.

I agree...there were an incredible number of Bills fans at that game. In the parking lot before (and after), I couldn't believe how many were there. If the Bills had actually done anything worth cheering, I think people would have definitely noticed the noise from the Bills fans there.

Hopefully. The one thing it also coincides with is a better commitment to the run game. Didn't seem to have much effect on the occasional brain-dead play call.

I agree. I mean, with Moulds probably gone, Evans slacking, Reed a disappointment, and Roscoe clearly not ready, I think we'd do well to spend our 1st next year on a big-play receiver.

All I can remember about Roscoe right now are three plays: a ridiculous punt return, a screwed up reverse, and a holding penalty on a 20+ yard run by Willis. Hmm.

Well, considering the next two are at San Diego and at home against Carolina (who pummeled Tampa in Tampa), it's hard to see us in playoff shape if Kelly is healthy in three weeks. Not that I disagree with you, or anything.

Believe it or not (actually not that hard to believe, I guess), I saw the highlight shown on ESPN and the comment to go with it was not "look at Bruschi get a face full of turf on this play", it was "look at the incredible effort by Bruschi as he relentlessly goes after the QB, even to the point of crawling on the ground after getting knocked down." Oy.
