  1. The triceps is actually considered one muscle, although it has three heads (hence, "triceps").
  2. I definitely saw him double-teamed on one play, and I think they were using the tight end to chip him as well. The thing that bodes well for us is that the front four are generating pressure all by themselves. Double-teaming Schobel is effective, but the fact that our other three are getting in the backfield means offenses can't do it all the time. This, in turn, makes our blitzes that much more effective. It's what I've been waiting to see for the past few years. One thing that I'm holding my breath on is how teams start defending against us in the weeks ahead. Now that they have film to look at, will we be able to continue to do this? Another thing I've noticed is that we are getting less pressure from the front four in the fourth quarter. Is this fatigue, or are teams able to adapt? We'll see.
  3. Well, he did 'reach' to knock the pass down and win the game.
  4. I thought you didn't believe in that stuff?
  5. Maine has a football team??
  6. No only did this guy have a monster game, but he was perfectly in position to make the interception on Culpepper if Crowell hadn't been in front of him. On the replay, he's standing in front of the receiver with his arms up and ready to make the easy catch for the INT, but Crowell was there first. Props to him for an awesome game, that was this close to being even more awesome.
  7. Damn straight! Come back safe and enjoy the rest with us.
  8. Born in the '60s. Every game we beat the Fish is like another birthday.
  9. Holy crap, what a game. Lindell was just rock steady. Moorman was out of this world. Roscoe looked like a real threat, and the blocked punt was just a thing of beauty. Wow.
  10. I am floored, once again. I've been coming to this board for years and his was one of the many voices that has kept me company. I didn't know him personally, but it still hits hard. What a tragedy.
  11. "GOD I HATE MIAMI" Of course, it was Rich Stadium back then.
  12. There were actually a handful of plays in the first half where I thought our offensive line false started, but it was never called. I was shocked.
  13. I haven't seen too many people upset about getting Simpson in there now to work out the kinks.
  14. Classic.
  15. Actually, one of the things I was happy to see was when he threw the ball away out of bounds one play when nobody was open.
  16. This is why it's probably better that he's on IR, rather than cut. That's about as far as the benefit goes, though. This is shocking, really. Players don't go on IR for a 3-4 week injury. I think everyone's right in that it means we can't wait for both Bowen and Vincent to heal. That said, I'm glad to see Whitner and Simpson getting the reps and experience they need now, rather than later. It's just unfortunate the reason why.
  17. Dude, you are brutal.
  18. He is a Bills fan.
  19. I'll buy that...and I'll also chime in that it was a very entertaining post. Keep it up through the year!
  20. PRECISELY. Clements does a nice job returning punts, and so what if anything happens to him? We can just stick another rook in there.
  21. Glad you're thinking ahead!
  22. Good post, but I need to disagree with you on two things: 1. I think JP's performance does merit a rating of 86. 86 is a decent rating, nothing great, nothing bad. That was his performance. He did some good things, but he didn't do anything disastrous (and the safety, as I've said before, was a complete team effort). I give him a little more credit than you do. 2. The we need to do better stat. For me, by far and away it's: 41-183-4.5...rushing attempts, yards, and yards-per-carry for the Pats. We need to do much, much better or this will be a long season. Coming into this year, my biggest worry was our run defense. That didn't do much to allay my fear.
  23. I'd feel better if he was salivating over the thought of actually generating a lot of pressure on the QB without having to send blitzes up the middle. It's why we were so damned successful in the first half against the Pats.
  24. Uh, yes...he was bad in all facets of quarterbacking. But I'd say mostly poor decision-making killed him in that game. There were so many awful turnovers, I can't even remember them all. But St. Louis was so undeniably pathetic on offense it was hard to fathom.
