God I want them to kick Carolina's ass so badly.

That may be true, but Mair was the guy who was way out of position on the Canes goal. It's 5-on-5, for crying out loud, and this guy was crowding the net when he should have been pressing the point man. Instead, he had an open shot. One thing I've noticed about the Canes is that they pressure our guys when they're on the defensive, much moreso than we do. Especially when they're a man down. If you notice, they are always pressing the man with the puck. It seems to work well against our power play. We tend to lay back a bit more when we're a man down, which is more typical but...makes me have about three heart attacks per penalty kill.

Who are you, and what have you done with Joe? I agree...this team is all heart and guts.

Damn. How the hell are they going to pull this one out? I just can't believe how well they've played despite all of these key injuries...I mean, these are REALLY big injuries, and so freaking many of them. Injuries are part of the game, but just imagine how these guys would look with those players back in the lineup... I'm gonna be a mess on Thursday.

That sucks. But having done that myself a number of years back, there's just no getting over it quickly. It hurts. You can't push off. And no matter what you try, it WILL take weeks to heal and get your normal motion back. I was surprised to hear he was out there...but unfortunately not that he couldn't make it through.

Good point, but if you look there was only a single penalty the entire third period and overtime combined...the penalty to Weight. It definitely seemed like the refs were putting the whistle away in this one so...perhaps we were lucky after all.

Is 7 tomorrow or Thursday? These guys need a rest.

I was going to mention that, but forgot. That play action move against New Orleans was fantastic. Too bad the throw was way off. Still not sure if it was JP or EM who read it wrong, but I don't think it would be too far off to call that a JP error. Nevertheless, once he gets his act together, that's a fantastic play action move. Reminded me a little of Boomer...which probably shouldn't be surprising.
