  1. I love it. Cheers, mate.
  2. That was great, thanks for the transcription. I like to hear the confidence in Fitz, but I also think they're taking the right approach. If they think they have a franchise guy available, take him, otherwise fix that defense and let Fitz do his thing.
  3. They were lowered because of the Arizona shooting, but I don't know if that still applies.
  4. It can't get any worse...right? Well, I suppose this is one way to generate excitement for a perenially last-place team. Not that I'm against it...
  5. I demand those awesome jerseys back.
  6. And the last successful one was made against...the Buffalo Bills.
  7. My read on Buddy's comments is that we have four of the five OL positions relatively set: Bell, Levitre, Wood, and probably someone between Urbik and Rinehart. Pears may work out at RT, but at least he represents depth. Sounds like he's really looking for a RT and more depth. Question is, where does Wang fit in? (insert favorite joke here)
  8. Miller played a fantastic game. His blocking was outstanding.
  9. Another good Utah guy.
  10. Who does he have going in the first two picks?
  11. Amen to that.
  12. The problem is you think the Jets "had to pass", which I disagree with. By using the timeout at that point, the Colts guaranteed they would not have any time left to get the ball back, assuming the Jets know how to manage the clock. A 50-yard FG is risky, but they had sucess running the ball all day against the Colts. So maybe you try passing once on 2nd down (but not necessarily), and then run it on 3rd down, forcing the clock all the way down to nothing before trying the kick since the Colts now have no timeouts left. You're almost guaranteed you're kicking from less than 50 yards, and in those conditions the chances are decent. If they don't use the timeout, it forces the Jets to move more quickly, maybe not get off the play the want, and perhaps increase the likelihood of an incomplete pass. Problem is, the Jets had 2nd and 3rd down to play with, so the most the Colts get, even by saving the timeout for later, is maybe 15-19 seconds. It's a moot point to argue, IMO, because I think the Jets still make the FG either way. But to say that calling the timeout there makes sense to save seconds on the clock for later on is just not right.
  13. Seriously? The Colts timeout was taken with 29 seconds left in the game, when it was 2nd down for the Jets at the 32 yard line. So they're looking at a 50 yard field goal at that point, which is no gimme. It was Indianapolis's last timeout, but the Jets still had one left. What good does it do for Indy to call a timeout then, except to give the Jets more time to prepare their next play(s)? It was the worst possible decision to make. The Jets could run at least two more plays at that point, so if they wanted to, the Jets could just let the clock run down to nothing and give the Colts no time left for anything. But if you make them hurry up, perhaps they don't get to run the play they want, and they don't get the extra yards to make it a gimme field goal. Absolutely horrible timeout call. Horrible. Could have cost them the game (although my guess is probably not).
  14. Do people still really believe he would come back here again under any circumstances?
  15. Damn, I actually LOL'd.
  16. Not really trying to defend the guy...I don't really pay attention to the draft folks...but if he's going to get ripped for bad evaluations might as well point out when he's right, too.
  17. Sounds like a lot of sour grapes. Does McShay look like a fool because of what he thought about Clausen? And if Carolina takes a QB at #1?
  18. Well, it certainly sounds from that like Maybin is gone, Whitner is most likely gone, and Bell is going to be the LT. So no high draft picks for a LT, it would seem. I can't quite interpret what he meant concerning Pears, but my guess is that they are probably content to go into next year with the Pears/Wrotto combination. He thinks the offensive line will be much better next year, so I think they have enough young guys at this point in Wrotto, Pears, Rinehart, Urbik, etc that we probably won't be grabbing any offensive linemen before round 4 or 5. As for the multiple defensive fronts...my interpretation: "We don't have good enough guys to play just a 3-4." This all just makes me think we are going with defense, defense, and more defense with the draft.
  19. We've seen other teams rush for more than 200 yards against us in half of all the games this year. Half. I think it's happened so many times that we've become numb to it. But the fact of the matter is that nobody should ever rush for more than 200 yards against your team. You've done well if you keep a team under 100 yards rushing; you've done average if you keep them under 120 yards rushing. Over 150 yards is not good. Over 200 yards should never, ever happen. Even once in a season is bad. And it happened in half of all of our games this year. I cannot stress how jaw-droppingly awful that statistic is. This is a historically bad defense. One player, even two, are not going to turn that crap around.
  20. This was a historically, mind-numbingly bad defense this year. We've become so accustomed to bad defense it almost doesn't sink in, but it was so incredibly awful it's hard to imagine them not using every single draft pick next year on defense. Not that that will necessarily fix anything...
