  1. Maybe he doesn't throw long accurately because it takes actual time in the pocket to do that? Besides, if you look at a lot of QBs, a good proportion of their long throws aren't actually right on target, they require the receiver to, you know, actually make a play on it. Farve sure got a lot of help from his receivers to make him look great.
  2. Now you're just baiting him.
  3. ...aaaaaand another one gets caught in crayonz's web.
  4. Just like Doc says above, Estro is spot on. The Bills probably would not give Bell a guaranteed starting spot, and the Eagles would. But the Eagles are protected when Peters comes back the following year. So this essentially gives Bell a guaranteed starting spot for decent money and the chance to showcase his abilities for next year's free agency period. That's probably the best Bell could get at this point. And I imagine the Bills are interested in something longer-term, and were not ready to commit big money to him for, say, a four or five year deal. Better to stick with Hairston and see if he can develop, or pick a LT early and have him develop with the rest of the young guys.
  5. Awesome. Thanks for the heads up.
  6. That's funny, I remember him saying something like he feels comfortable with Hairston.
  7. Well, I guess somebody had to say it.
  8. Actually sounds like a different former Bills QB who once wore the number seven but planted trees rather than pushed cereal. (mostly kidding, I don't know anything about him.)
  9. Great horny toads. I was a huge Star Blazers fan growing up. I had no idea a live action was being made. The Japanese version looks pretty cool.
  10. "The answer is almost never E. Good luck."
  11. I guess I don't understand why the Bills would want that. They get a (relatively) cheap LT for one or maybe two seasons, and if things go well, then he likely leaves in free agency for the big bucks. Is it worth it to buy just one or two seasons from the guy? Wouldn't we prefer a longer term solution?
  12. Unless they plan on playing games on days other than Sundays, they couldn't really be targeting Salt Lake City.
  13. They're probably just featuring the "under 30" players.
  14. Good question. I would say, based on what Nix has said in the media, that we're going to look at something other than LT in round 1 and let Hairston be the starter going into camp. My guess is he takes a LT in round 2 or 3 and lets him develop behind Hairston. Probably another LT later in the draft, too.
  15. Damn, what a great thread.
  16. Buffalo at #23, FWIW Hard to believe ESPN is that desperate for material, but there it is.
  17. I'm not particularly high on Jones, but I watched the replay of the Pats* comeback game and Jones had an outstanding day. He was consistently open, caught a bunch of balls, and was clearly open on deep routes a number of times. Gailey specifically mentioned after the game how he was a good deep threat. I wonder if he'll be better this year with some experience under his belt.
  18. Everyone's a stud at evaluating the first round of a draft. Beyond that, it's probably too much trouble to stay interested.
  19. I dunno, man. How many more times do we need to see McKelvin stride-for-stride with his receiver, only completely unaware of the ball and entirely unable to make a play on it?
  20. I just think the best part about this is that we have no reason to stress out about who gets picked from 1 through 9. Our pass rush has been addressed, and from this point on there are enough good options that we can just take whoever is there. Personally, I'd like to see Floyd or Martin, but I'd even be okay with a LB or CB.
  21. Ain't that the truth.
  22. Perhaps, but I think the main reason horse collar tackles were singled out a few years ago is because of the injuries that accompanied them. Typically, these occurred when a player was sprinting down the field and got caught from behind with a horse collar, and it was that type of situation that caused the injuries. It's probably less of a concern when a QB is within the 15-yard "pocket", since he's not likely running (at least, not full speed). All that said, it does seem strange that they wouldn't have just outlawed all horse collars, and it seems like they should just do it.
  23. I will never, ever vote for any Buffalo Bill for the cover. Are you crazy? Gronk it is.
  24. Dolphins fans protest offseason, GM This offseason is almost surreal...
