So are we just done expecting Von Miller to do anything?
Rubes replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall
pectoral tear. Very tough injury to deal with, need to come back pretty carefully, though others have done it. I think he could see the field by the end of the season if we’re still in it. -
It’s Dallas week and the Division is on the line!

Bills win this game against Dallas and the rest of the AFC be watching like... -
Personally, I don't think we have the WRs who can block well enough to allow the intended receiver to pick up YAC.

I was thinking the same thing today as I was watching the game. Not sure what's up with him.

Although, on the plus side, there were a couple of Von sightings in the second half. We need that.

One of my most amusing moments ever as a Bills fan... The Trateral
Rubes replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean, this hits the nail on the head for me. I missed the guy lined up offside, so I was just feeling the same feels that I have every week this year. And yes, I did say to myself that I was somehow glad to have all that time left on the clock, and then with the penalty, I was pissed that the Chiefs would just end up doing the same but using more time. Man, I am a loser. -
Leonard Floyd is what Von Miller was supposed to be
Rubes replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Given that the Cowboys game is just over a week from now and DaQuon hasn’t been activated from IR yet, I’d say that’s not going to happen. That said, it’s nice to hear he’s trying to come back this year. Maybe he can come back for the final stretch if there’s still a chance at the playoffs. That would be real sweet. -
Holy moly, I hope that's all correct. That makes me feel a bit better about next year, but we'll see.

It’s Chiefs week - and the season is on the line
Rubes replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
What I heard is that the Packers were effective against the Chiefs D by using a lot of play action and misdirection plays, which slowed down their pass rush (specifically, Chris Jones). They'll be looking for it this week. -
Mac Jones misery (a salacious read)

Still, all they needed to do was force them to kick a FG and it goes to OT. They still allowed 35 more yards and a TD to lose it. -
Calling it now: Bills are going to at least reach the AFCCG
Rubes replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love the enthusiasm, dawg, and I agree that it is within the realm of possibility. I just don't see how you can be so confident knowing that McD's defense can't be counted on for anything at the end of games. If there's one thing we've learned over the years, and especially this year, is that no matter how good the offense is playing, no matter how many points we score, our 4th Q/OT defense is an even bet to lose the game for us. If it's a close game at the end, it's almost a coin flip. -

I still just cannot fathom how this team allowed him to drive 75 yards in the final minutes to a game winning touchdown. I mean, that is just a colossal failure. I can't even understand it.- 59 replies

I hate whining about it as well, but for whatever reason it just seems so much worse this year. Even when it's not a Bills game, it's hard to watch. It seems like every game I watch has one or more calls happen or not happen in the final minutes to have a huge impact on the game.

Of all the joke calls in the league this year, this is the worst IMO.
Rubes replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally agree. At a time when the NFL is under intense criticism for the officiating, it was insane how that entire last drive, with the game on the line, was just one long session of “look at how indescribably terrible our refs are.” -
Fair enough.

Pretty much everything you said is true. But like @corta765 says, when you have a QB like Josh in his prime, missing the playoffs is an inexcusable catastrophe, an embarrassment to the organization. There’s no way around that.

From the Buffalo News: I mean, you don't pay a defensive-minded coach to excel at defense for three quarters and then ***** the bed at the end when it counts.

The thing that really gets me is that it's the defense that ultimately failed us in all of those catastrophic losses. And defense is supposed to be his specialty.

We're Going To The Playoffs. (edit: Updated - Super Bowl)

If they go 5-0, or even 4-1, their chances are still reasonably decent. From the Buffalo News: -
Add another record of disappointment to our franchise
Rubes replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, honestly, it was the perfect play call. They had called it earlier in the game and it worked perfectly as well, except that Josh threw a bad pass that hit the defender in the butt. Still, I was thinking the same thing on that 3rd down, which is that I hadn't seen or heard from Kincaid in a long while, so I was looking for a quick throw for a first down on that play. Turned out Philly blitzed and went Cover 0, so I saw Kincaid staying in to block. -
I mean, Josh himself said they were playing Cover 0 on that play. All Gabe needed to do was keep running straight, not turn outside and go to the corner. But what do I know.

8th late-game defensive meltdown this season
Rubes replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seriously. He played for OT instead of playing for the win. Did he really learn absolutely nothing from the 13 seconds debacle? I mean, he had a whole 7 more seconds. and could have had 2 timeouts to go with it. -
I don't know...if the refs/NFL really wanted Philly to win so badly, I can't imagine them really making that roughing-the-passer call against Josh in overtime. I mean, that was a serious acting job, and it was (er, should have been) a huge game-influencing penalty on the Philly side of the field.

Ingram and Isabella elevated from Practice Squad for Eagles game
Rubes replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Screw that, we don’t need Isabella out there on offense. You want to see this offense hum? Put more Gilliam out there.
