He's an unrestricted free agent. He can sign with anyone who will have him, full team or practice squad.

I'm pretty sure EJ will start, I think this is just Marrone keeping people (ie, Pats*) in the dark. If not, whatever. Tuel can just launch it every play and get 15 pass interference calls.

I'd give Fred and Kyle a bit of a break, as they're both coming back from injuries/surgery. Usually takes a little while to get back in form.

Seriously? EJ wasn't looking so hot in that first game, up until the 2:00 drive. He has his share of miscues in the second game as well. He's looked as good as I've hoped, but he'll be making plenty of mistakes this year once defenses start trying to confuse him. I'm totally on the EJ bandwagon, but sounds like everyone is getting a little giddy.

I'm starting to think this, too. I think the jist is that Easley needs to show enough to make Smith expendable, similar to the Hopkins/Lindell battle. Sounds like he has. I'd like to see us keep 7 WRs, the three extras being Hogan, Rogers, and Easley. We all want so much to like Rogers...

I don't believe the new drop technique is for hang time or distance; it's for dropping the ball inside the 10 with more of a backspin to prevent it from going in the end zone. My worry is that the defense isn't going to be quite as awesome as we all think it's going to be. Not for any particular reason other than cynicism. George Edwards and Friggin' Dave Wannstedt will do that to you.

If your draft gives you two starters and two decent backups, that's a pretty good draft, I'd say. I still want to see if Moats and Easley do, actually, make decent backups, though.

For some reason, I still remember that game at Kansas City a few years back, the one that went to overtime. Lindell nailed something like a 50-yarder, which I think would have won it (can't remember for sure), but the Chiefs called timeout before he kicked it. He then proceeded to shank the follow-up. Damn, that ticked me off. Nevertheless, classy guy, a great kicker, and a real professional. Glad he was a Buffalo Bill.
