  1. On the last interception by Mahomes to ice it, two things I noticed:

    • Rousseau got both held and facemasked on the play, no call. Crazy, but not surprising.
    • After the INT, Kelce did a little "golf clap"—not sure if that was a respectful clap, or a "hey, congrats on winning your Super Bowl" sarcastic clap. I kind of think it was the latter.

A lot of current NFL fans have no patience. Back in the day, you didn't think twice about a guy taking two or three years to develop (unless he was a high draft pick---1st/2nd rounder). Curtis Samuel nursing a turf toe is another example...so many fans wrote him off already. Terrell Bernard is another example (wasted draft pick, barely played his rookie year). Shakir is another guy. And the list goes on. Some players just need a little time to develop, heal, acclimate to a new team/QB, or whatever their circumstance is. But most fans don't want to wait for it. If it's not there immediately...move on. We are actually very lucky. We have a staff that is very good in the player development area...sometimes you just have to wait for it.

And yeah, Cam has been ballin' out!

Part of it also is that the Bills have had stability in the coaching staff for many years now. It’s hard to develop younger players over several years when the staff is constantly turning over. Once a new head coach comes in with his staff, many of those development players, drafted by the previous regime, are dumped—or they get new position coaches and/or new systems, and end up not really developing at all.

McD and his staff are very good at developing young talent, and it also helps that they and the system have been around now for many years.

If they can put cameras in pylons, why can't they put a camera inide the top of both uprights looking straight up??

That way they would have a clear view of wether the ball went directly over the upright or not.

Seems like a simple fix to me.

Might be tough to make a call especially if there is just enough wind to make the uprights shake a bit.

It’s good for my health, better for theirs.

Telling your boss oh it was a Bills game last night doesn’t seem to have much impact when you’re working out of Durango, Colorado. I personally think they just need to get on board.

Looking forward to James Cook getting 12+ rushing TDs after the break and more people talking about it. AFC Kamara.

Durango is a pretty cool place!

  5. I listen to Joe Marino and Locked on Bills. I like his takes for the most part, and I like that he has an episode every day, and they're not too long—usually about 30-35 minutes each. But sometimes I'm looking for something different.

Wondering if you all have ones that you go to during the week that you think are good.

I love advanced stats like EPA.  Sort of.

The reality of the Fins game is that Miami gained something like 400 yards and scored 27 points.

If not for an unlikely 61 yard field go with 10 seconds left, we might have lost the game.

The D needs to get better, whatever EPA or DVOA may indicate.

True, although on the other hand, they did hold the Fins to 10 points in the first half. The second half was ugly, but it was also ugly for the Fins on defense as well.

Anyone know why the Bills let so much time run off the clock at the beginning of the last drive? It felt like they weren’t completely committed to being able to drive the ball down the field and instead chose to bleed clock so as to make sure Miami couldn’t. Pretty risky strategy in my opinion.

Not sure, but I was pretty concerned about a quick 3 and out in that situation, which would give the Fins time along with 2 timeouts. I was okay with bleeding some time off the clock, apparently trying to make sure only they would have a chance at a winning FG.

Yeah I hear ya.  I just think that was their best chance to win the game in Buffalo.

Watching that video made me realize, on that 2nd and 14 where Allen had the ball batted down, Cook was wide open on the right side and would have gotten very close to the first down.

Not that it ended up mattering with the Poyer penalty, but holy cow. When it was 3rd and 14 (and later 3rd and 9) I was pretty nervous about going 3 and out and giving the Fins another chance.

Bad teams like the Chiefs pushing Eric Bieniemy out and replacing him with Matt Nagy? Or the 12-4 Chiefs firing their DC for Steve Spagnuolo?

Good is the enemy is Great, and it has never been so well illustrated as watching everyone with Battered Bills Fan Syndrome being happy to stick with coaches out of fear that it could be worse.

Yall treat every suggestion of getting better as a direct insult to the current guy. Brady has done a good job so far, I actually like him a lot. Doesnt mean we cant do better or shouldnt be looking to do so.

I suspect this will not be a popular take, but it's a pretty good one.

I'm not advocating for getting rid of McD or anyone right now, but if your goal is greatness, or a championship, or whatever is the top of your field, then settling for good only keeps you from getting there. The trick is distinguishing the ones that *can* get you to the top from the ones who *never will*.
