  1. Just checking to see how confident (or not) everybody is for these next two crucial games.
  2. Game of Thrones...absolutely. My buddy at work says Dexter was a great show, but I haven't seen it. He got me hooked on Breaking Bad.
  3. Cool, I was wondering when this would turn into an EJ/Hackett bashing thread.
  4. It will definitely be interesting to see how he does with a real offense around him.
  5. Here's a question for the old timers as well...if the Bills had beaten the Chiefs in '66, how do you think they would have fared against Green Bay in SB I? Would they have matched up any better than KC did?
  6. Few papers are as accomplished at headlines as the NY Daily News.
  7. Yep. Basically it's like scraping away the dead bone back to where it's healthy with a blood supply.
  8. I didn't see any specifics, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a debridement of the infected bone.
  9. Tough stuff. These are the things I treat all the time, and they can be very tough when they get into the bone. Often they don't cause tremendous discomfort (unlike scrotal MRSA, good heavens), but it's very hard to eliminate infections once they get into the bone, even with antibiotics. Usually it requires surgery to debride the infected bone as well. He'll try a two month course of antibiotics and see how it goes, and hopefully we don't hear about it again.
  10. The implication being, we don't play until a week from Sunday, so not much changes for our playoff tracking until well into November.
  11. It's strange to think, but it seems like the prevailing thought is that we got all those turnovers but "settled" for FGs. But we scored 5 TDs and 3 FGs in that game. Can't really ask for much more than that.
  12. Thanks, good stuff there. Nice to be thinking about these things well into November, for a change.
  13. I think you have the right idea. In any case, I really really really really hope they can keep this defensive line together for a few more years.
  14. Interesting that the teams in each division are sorted by point differential rather than wins.
  15. If Kiko was playing this year, maybe. Let's hope they can find a way to keep that D-line together a little longer. Next year, with a year of experience in Schwartz's system under their belts and a fresh Kiko, who knows...
  16. This is spot on, really. I remember watching Orton his first few years in the league -- my brother-in-law is a Bears fan and season ticket holder, so we're both up on each other's teams -- and he was bad. Really bad. He certainly seemed to find something those couple of years in Denver, but while he was in Chicago he was nearly unwatchable. Like you said, though, I'm not taking anything away from his current play. He's doing well, and I hope he continues it, of course. But I don't see him as a long-term solution.
  17. It's a two-way street. Spikes may not want to stick around if he's not getting the playing time he wants. He probably believes he's a full-time, three-down starter, and wants to get paid as such. If the market agrees, I'm sure he'd want to be elsewhere.
  18. My plan is to watch them and enjoy. As for the team, I think they put Brown in the middle, which I believe is where he is best suited, and say goodbye to Spikes. Bradham on one side, Kiko on the other. Bad things, man.
  19. Good question. I do recall one play where Wood completely whiffed on one of the DTs, who tackled the runner well behind the line of scrimmage. Granted, it's just one play, but it was really bad.
