  1. I'm loving this thread!
  2. Perhaps, though he still had many years left in his tank. I'd still prefer not relying on their cast-offs.
  3. If I had to pick between shelling out big bucks for Hughes or one of these TEs (and I'm not certain we'd have to pick, but still), I'd go with Hughes. I want him back to keep this defense top notch.
  4. Meh. Great respect for the guy as a player, but I don't want the Patriots** sloppy seconds.
  5. Well done, sir. Well done.
  6. I don't doubt that Spiller, in the right situation, could be a great back. But in my mind, he will always carry a large liability, which is his complete failure as a pass blocker.
  7. You have a better alternative?
  8. Hey, good to see you again, Dean. Looks like it only took a couple of jaw-dropping trades to bring you back!
  9. I suspect we may draft a RB in round 4-5 and, depending on his performance, may see him replace Bryce on the roster. Boobie should stay for his ST play and familiarity with Roman, and Freddy is just too versatile, especially with his pass blocking ability. Then, when Fred is done after this year, the draftee takes his place as #2.
  10. Who needs threads anyway? I'm IN!
  11. That would be Hughes and McCoy vs. Hughes, Kiko, and CJ. And CJ would cost more money than we were paying him.
  12. I'm sure somebody else posted this earlier, but when I first saw the "Alonso traded for McCoy" tweet, for a second my heart stopped thinking it was for Colt McCoy.
  13. Well done, sir.
  14. I don't think you'd want your starting center to also be your long snapper, considering the risk of injury on the offensive line. Even though it seems like long snapping is no big deal, you really don't want to have to rely on your backup option if at all possible, especially for FGs. I can't imagine the Packers will let Bulaga go.
  15. Nice review, thanks for the info. I've been wondering what they'll do about Seantrel and the RT spot, since I haven't heard nearly as much about that position as the G positions.
  16. Boy, you said it. What a crazy, crazy year.
  17. Yeah, that's how I understood it as well, but everybody has injuries that extend beyond the 7 inactives. The problem is that the only option is injured reserve, which screws the season (or most of the season) for the player. I think teams need more flexibility with the roster while forgetting about the inactives.
  18. That's interesting, I would have thought that would count as their Thursday game. I guess not. Very interesting. One of the more baffling things about the NFL.
  19. He was my second cousin, once removed. Never had the chance to meet him, though. He seemed exceptionally cool. Sad day.
  20. Are you this histrionic in all parts of your life?
  21. Right, but wasn't that pretty much the story for all the QBs last year? There wasn't a single one that looked comfortable or prepared. Doesn't that seem strange? I think most of us were shaking our heads that Thad could have regressed so badly after showing some promise the year before. Even Tuel looked awful, although many weren't that surprised by it. Orton came in and looked decent at times, but often lost and uncomfortable. This is what makes me put more of the blame on the coaching staff than on the talent.
  22. How did he grade out in previous seasons?
  23. It certainly would be a head scratcher. My first impulse when I saw this thread was to say, "Ridiculous, never happen," until I realized I said the same thing when I heard about Marrone possibly walking away.
  24. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet The #Eagles are releasing long-time G Todd Herremans, as @caplannfl said. Injured last year, fine now. Will generate some interest.
