  1. Well done, sir.
  2. I don't think you'd want your starting center to also be your long snapper, considering the risk of injury on the offensive line. Even though it seems like long snapping is no big deal, you really don't want to have to rely on your backup option if at all possible, especially for FGs. I can't imagine the Packers will let Bulaga go.
  3. Nice review, thanks for the info. I've been wondering what they'll do about Seantrel and the RT spot, since I haven't heard nearly as much about that position as the G positions.
  4. Boy, you said it. What a crazy, crazy year.
  5. Yeah, that's how I understood it as well, but everybody has injuries that extend beyond the 7 inactives. The problem is that the only option is injured reserve, which screws the season (or most of the season) for the player. I think teams need more flexibility with the roster while forgetting about the inactives.
  6. That's interesting, I would have thought that would count as their Thursday game. I guess not. Very interesting. One of the more baffling things about the NFL.
  7. He was my second cousin, once removed. Never had the chance to meet him, though. He seemed exceptionally cool. Sad day.
  8. Are you this histrionic in all parts of your life?
  9. Right, but wasn't that pretty much the story for all the QBs last year? There wasn't a single one that looked comfortable or prepared. Doesn't that seem strange? I think most of us were shaking our heads that Thad could have regressed so badly after showing some promise the year before. Even Tuel looked awful, although many weren't that surprised by it. Orton came in and looked decent at times, but often lost and uncomfortable. This is what makes me put more of the blame on the coaching staff than on the talent.
  10. How did he grade out in previous seasons?
  11. It certainly would be a head scratcher. My first impulse when I saw this thread was to say, "Ridiculous, never happen," until I realized I said the same thing when I heard about Marrone possibly walking away.
  12. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet The #Eagles are releasing long-time G Todd Herremans, as @caplannfl said. Injured last year, fine now. Will generate some interest.
  13. I have no interest in a guy who can't pass block to save his life. I'm completely fine with keeping Fred, Bryce, and Boobie, and drafting someone in the mid-rounds, since the class is deep in talent.
  14. Can we just /thread this?
  15. Fair enough, but there's a lot of concern around here for not overpaying for talent, but that's what you're saying it comes down to. Sure, we can get anyone if we pay them enough, but how much more is it going to take to lure an offensive player to Buffalo, with the weather and the offensive problems and lack of a QB, versus, say, Miami, where life's a beach, the conditions are great, and there's an established QB? I'm just saying it's a little easier to sell a defensive player than an offensive player, at least at this point in time. Now that's a good argument!
  16. I imagine it's probably a little easier to sell the Bills to a defensive FA than an offensive FA -- especially a receiver. A little more enticing to come work with a top defense and a top defensive coach, who will almost guarantee success, versus come to work with a really shaky offense, a new coordinator, and a huge question mark at the most important position.
  17. I'm interested to know examples of where the market has corrected downward, as I can't think of any. The problem, which occurs every year, is that we value guys based on existing contracts, but the reality is that the cap goes up each year, increasing values. $6 mil per year for Clay may sound like a lot compared to those other guys, but its what the market sets *this year* for a guy with those talents.
  18. Maybe this is the year Easley finally steps it up and becomes the dominating WR we all think he can be!
  19. I agree, and I'd also throw in a DT in the mix, since Kyle won't last forever.
  20. Did he really say that? I totally missed it. Was it off the record, or did the media report it? I'm interested because I thought that might be the case, but you never really know unless you hear it from someone inside.
  21. But if we sign Hughes, doesn't that mean we we have to ignore the offense?
  22. I do. The NFL is already keenly aware of how challenges slow the game down, and that the games are already longer than they want.
  23. We don't need that much more on offense, QB aside of course. We need a decent TE, and one will almost certainly be available in FA. Julius Thomas? Come on. The guy wants to be the highest paid TE in the league. Why in the world would he want to come to a place that doesn't have an established QB? It would take far too much to bring him in, and it wouldn't be worth the money. Someone like Cameron or even Clay (per Buff News) would be more affordable and provide the play needed at the position. Other than that, we need another G, but from all that has been said by Rex and Doug, they're looking to bring another one in. We don't need to spend crazy money on a Iupati to get what we need at the position and still make the OL a strength. So...what else? Another RB? No way, not in FA. Not with the current stable we have. A draft pick will fill the need here.
