  1. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet The #Bills will sign versatile DL Alex Carrington to a one-year deal, source said. He’s visiting today, played there from 2010-2013.
  2. "13. I think the Patriots’ draft will be blindly praised because that’s the standard protocol for analyzing any Patriots draft. I also think it’s hard to understand how the Patriots could go defense with all four of their Thursday/Friday selections and yet manage to avoid addressing their glaring need at cornerback." I like this guy already.
  3. The oddest part about the Polian view is that he spent quite a bit of effort towards the end of the draft debating why it was perfectly fine that the Browns didn't draft a QB. He talked at length about how it was a sound philosophy for them to build a strong running team while they wait next time for the franchise QB. Weird.
  4. I can't imagine anything going wrong there.
  5. I wish teams would stop being so infatuated with black jerseys. I mean, those are ridiculous.
  6. I think I'd be on board with this. With the way things are shaking out in the AFC East, we need some beasts on the OL.
  7. Seriously, I'm already trying to figure out which game it will be this year. And just remember, if you see some dude at the Ralph wearing a #2 Carpenter jersey, come say hi cause it could only be me!
  8. Me too. I think that he just needs to fire the ball, forget about placing it like he seemed to be doing.
  9. Funny but related story. This past holiday season, my mother-in-law (who lives in Illinois) was asking if there were any particular gifts I was interested in. I thought that was really nice of her, and I figured it would be reasonable to suggest a Sabres t-shirt from the online store, since I didn't have one. So I picked out three different ones, emailed her with the links to all three numbered #1, #2, and #3, and said I'd be interested in any of them, but the one I liked most was #2. Despite me thinking this was pretty simple and explicit (pick one, click the link, you're done), somehow my mother-in-law only chose to read a few select words from the email and had it in her mind that I would only be interested in Buffalo Bills gear, completely ignoring whoever these "Sabres" are. And links? What links? She figured I must be talking about a Buffalo Bills jersey, and I mentioned the #2, so that must be what I want. So yeah, I opened up the gift to reveal a brand new Dan Carpenter #2 Buffalo Bills jersey. It took me a while to figure out what the story was and why I was looking at a kicker's jersey, but once we pieced it together it was hilarious. We still get a big laugh out of it. I'm wondering if I'm the only one with a Carpenter jersey. I wonder if someone told Dan that somebody bought his jersey. Either way, I can't wait to wear it to a game.
  10. That pick-6 against Brady was one of the most electric plays I can recall in the past 10 years. 70,000 people were collectively orgasming simultaneously. I'll always remember that one.
  11. I would support this, if we can make it work cap-wise and don't give up too much in return.
  12. Jesus, it's like I'm swimming in Kool-Aid right now. I can't get enough of this ****.
  13. Good luck to you as well. Should be pretty quiet around here until Friday.
  14. Who knew we could glean so much information from a few comments after the first minicamp practice of the season.
  15. Never too late to get started, my friend. Trust me. *Sigh* such is my life...
  16. The North will never rally behind the Boltons the way they would for the Starks. That is why Roose wants to wed Sansa to Ramsay. However, it seems that LF is probably planning to subvert that alliance via Sansa getting her revenge (not sure how yet) and rallying the North, so they can partner with the Eyrie to control the North and be a powerful force. That's my guess, at least.
  17. Utah also has an online system where you can see if a particular plate is available right away, but you still need to make the formal request for a plate by mail, and they make you include a description of what your plate is supposed to mean. So they presumably have a person or group of people reviewing each request before it is approved/denied.
  18. That's funny, I thought they were talking about something very different.
  19. We just didn't appreciate the tank back then like we do now. As far as "most reviled", have to go with Bullough. Stevenson was bad, but he tried and wasn't a bad guy. Bullough, as others have pointed out, was bad and not even respected by the team. Has to be right at the top of the worst head coaches in this team's history. Marrone was a jerk, but he did put this team in the right direction (with a lot of help, of course, so can't really give him too much credit).
  20. Sounds like the TV show didn't want to get into the complexity of the siege at Riverrun -- in fact, the TV show never does say what happened to Edmure or the Blackfish, do they? Both left the wedding hall before the carnage, but I don't think they ever referenced either one again, as far as I can recall. Jamie going to Dorne is interesting, but my sense is that they needed a plot element to get Jamie out of King's Landing so that Cersei would be alone when the **** hits the fan. And it looks like they're setting it up so that Lancel is the one who turns in Cersei for screwing him and for her role in Robert's death. The question is if the TV show will go the full nine yards and have her sleep with Osney Kettleblack to get him to set up Margaery for adultery as well. They certainly could at this point, as they are doing a good job portraying Cersei's anger and jealousy towards her, but I can't remember if Osney is a character in the TV show. One of my favorite scenes in the books is when Cersei is led to the room where they are torturing Osney, suddenly realizes she's ed, and tries to run away.
  21. I wouldn't go that far. Lawson's job on that play was to get to the QB, which wasn't going to happen. I doubt his job was to chip the RB since that would delay his pass rush. Brown definitely took a bad step. It almost looked like he was expecting the RB to cut back inside. Also, the TE on that side was well positioned to make Brown take a longer path. A well-designed play, I'd say. Edit: I think I see what you're saying -- perhaps Lawson's job was to decide whether to cover the RB or rush the passer. I'm not sure if Schwartz's defense worked that way, though.
  22. Interesting that some people mention the 2013 Falcons, who were definitely stacked at those positions...yet finished 4-12. Of course, they had the #27 ranked defense (offense was #14). I also don't recall if injuries or other factors played a role. I agree with John that one of the exciting things about this season is that we have five most excellent skill players on offense, plus a potential top-5 defense as well. I'm really hoping they can figure out the offensive line issues. I think I'm more worried about that than the QB spot.
