Charles Clay limited in practice Thursday...
Rubes replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, at least Cincy is as healthy as they've ever been for a Week 6 game. So we have that going for us. -

I have no idea what we're talking about anymore. -

Un- -believable. In a year when an AFC playoff spot is there for the taking. -
Source: EJ Manuel to start Sunday for Tyrod Taylor

If that happens, Miami is going to get the **** beaten out of them with all of the healthy guys coming back. -

Isn't that what everybody was saying about EJ previously? -

Boobie Dixon-Anthony Thomas redux
Rubes replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I would prefer a better RB than Boobie at the #3 spot (I'm on the 'why didn't we resign Bryce' train), but we also see the impact that ST can have on the game (e.g., yesterday), and I have no problem with keeping a below-average RB who also happens to be an above-average ST player at the #3 spot. -
Giants TE Daniel Fells Doing Better With MRSA Infection
Rubes replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And here I thought you were joking. MRSA is nasty. It lives on the skin, but can be introduced into the body through breaks in the skin, whether intentional (surgery or injections) or unintentional. It causes all kinds of infections depending on where it is, pneumonia being a particularly nasty one. Although there are a few antiobiotics that can treat it, the problem in some cases is when it gets into deep tissues such as bone, where antibiotics have a hard time reaching it in adequate concentrations. That is why in many cases the only way to definitively get rid of it is to remove the infected tissue. I hope that isn't the case for this guy. -

It should when you're the #2 or #3 RB. -
Bills might have just saved their season...
Rubes replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod's magic scramble was the opposite of Bryce Brown's fumble last year. One saved the season, the other triggered the end. -

MMQB: Best of the New and/or Improved in 2015
Rubes replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, people seem to believe strong CB play is the key to this defense, and it looks like he has it. I'm still curious why that hasn't translated into better performance, but I suppose you could argue that the NYG game is the only true aberration so far. That, and the dumb penalties. -
We should see the true character of this team soon

Sigh. I almost regret posting that now. -
We should see the true character of this team soon
Rubes posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills teams in the past have been the type that can get up for the big games (though often falling short), but also playing down to the level of the competition. So for as many times as they pulled out a big win against a stronger opponent, they also fell flat and lost to teams they should have beaten. Those, to me, are signs of teams that needed better talent, better coaching, and better discipline. As many others have pointed out, this year certainly seems different than other years. We have much better talent, and we have solid coaching. Execution has been strong for the most part, though there were discipline issues in the Pats*** game that bit us in the ass. But over this three game stretch against Miami, the Giants, and Tennessee, I thought we would have a good opportunity to see the true character of this team. Three teams we definitely should beat, though each with its distinct challenges; Miami with its tough defensive front, the Giants with their SB-winning QB and tough receivers, and Tennessee with its stellar rookie QB, and two of those on the road. But despite those challenges, there is no reason this team should not be 4-1 heading into a showdown at home against the Bengals. The game against Miami was a sign to me that this isn't the same old Bills. On the road, they not only took care of business, but they held their foot on the gas and didn't let up. True, Miami is probably worse than any of us thought going into the season, but again, previous Bills teams would find a way to play down to their level and make it a close game. There are initial signs that this team has a different, stronger character. Now we have the Giants and Tennessee, and two more opportunities to show that this team is built for real success. Teams have more film on us, so they'll have more ways to attack our weaknesses. How this team responds against these two additional opponents will tell me a lot about who they truly are. I don't expect every game to be a 41-14 thrashing (sure would be nice, though), but if this really is a team with playoff expectations I expect them to execute well and take care of business these next two games. If not, well, I guess we will still have a ways to go. Go Bills!! -
Whaley's Roster Construction Close to Completion

Of course I'm excited......just not *too* excited, yet. -
Cierre Wood signed to active roster

If Wood doesn't perform well, I wonder if we'll see Bryce next week (assuming Shady is still out). -

Whaley's Roster Construction Close to Completion
Rubes replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course, but I've thought that before. I certainly think this is considerably more encouraging that any time in the last 15 years, but 15 years will do that to you. Daring to dream has just led to bitter disappointment and resignation, and I don't want to feel that all over again! -
Whaley's Roster Construction Close to Completion
Rubes replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will always remain skeptical until I see consistency on the field. Too many ups in recent years were inevitably followed by disappointing downs. I'm encouraged so far, but reluctant to get too excited just yet. -

In related news, sounds like Goodwin was practicing today. Could he be back for Sunday? -
Rex: It's the players' defense, not the "Rex Ryan" D
Rubes replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How could you not love this guy. One of the key criticisms of Rex is that he could never put together an effective offense. Well, he's got all the pieces right now, including a QB that is looking like a good choice right now. So I'm excited to see what Rex is capable of doing with a strong offense and defense, and I hope that chip on his shoulder is what pushes him over the top. -
I sure hope we take them seriously and put them away. The sign of a good team is winning the ones you're supposed to win, and this would be one of those. If we can do that, we should be 4-1 heading into a showdown with Cincy. But most Bills fans know it almost never goes according to plans...
