  3. I've been hoping for EJ to pull it out this camp, but the more I hear from the reporters and from Rex's mouth, it really does seem like the coaches are trying to decide between Cassel and Tyrod. I think Rex really, really wants Tyrod to be the guy. Right or wrong, fair or unfair, it seems to be moving in this direction. Now, if after Thursday the team says EJ will play with the 1s in the third preseason game, then I'll think differently. But I don't see that happening.
  4. The nice thing is, if Sammy gets shut down, then there are so many more options...Harvin, Woods, Clay, Shady out of the backfield...even Goodwin sprinkled in for a few deep routes...
  5. I poseted this a few months ago, but since somebody brought this up, it bears repeating. This past holiday season, my mother-in-law (who lives in Illinois) was asking if there were any particular gifts I was interested in. I thought that was really nice of her, and I figured it would be reasonable to suggest a Sabres t-shirt from the online store, since I didn't have one. So I picked out three different ones, emailed her with the web links to all three numbered #1, #2, and #3, and said I'd be interested in any of them, but the one I liked most was #2. Despite me thinking this was pretty simple and explicit (pick one, click the link, you're done), somehow my mother-in-law only chose to read a few select words from the email and had it in her mind, for some reason, that I would only be interested in Buffalo Bills gear, completely ignoring whoever these "Sabres" are. And links? What links? She figured I must be talking about a Buffalo Bills jersey, and I mentioned the #2, so that must be what I want. So yeah, I opened up the gift weeks later to reveal a brand new Dan Carpenter #2 Buffalo Bills jersey. It took me a while to figure out what was going on and why I was staring at a kicker's jersey, but once we pieced it together it was hilarious. We still get a big laugh out of it. I'm wondering if I'm the only one with a Carpenter jersey. I wonder if someone told Dan that somebody bought his jersey. Either way, I can't wait to wear it to a game. ...and yes, I'll be wearing it to the home opener.
  6. Tough to get too upset with rushing for over 200 yards in a preseason game. What was it at halftime, like 125 yards rushing for us and 3 for them? That's how you win games.
  7. Well this thread took an ugly turn there, didn't it.
  8. Cool. I had heard about that location a little while back, and there was speculation if that was going to be the TOJ, or if it was supposed to be Casterly Rock. Also, looks like they will have some scenes in Oldtown. Very interesting. Hope GRRM comes out with the next book soon, or I may have to skip the next TV season.
  9. Nice reference. "The answer is almost never E. Good luck."
  10. Holy crap. That is a huge explosion. It's going to be a while before we know the extent of this.
  11. I thought we were supposed to hate him because he's fat.
  12. For what it's worth, my brother-in-law is a Bears fan and season ticket holder, and I used to live in Chicago, so I've kept an eye on them over the years. Not that it means anything, but I remember watching Orton his first couple of years in the league, and I have to say, I remember thinking he was the worst QB I have ever seen play this game. Dude was just unwatchable. I have no idea how he managed to survive and make a long career of it, but man, he was just God-awful those first few years. EJ is light years ahead of where he was back then.
  13. Congrats! May your child grow up never knowing the experience of living through 15 years without a playoff appearance.
  14. "Guard play is great" in the context of "Buffalo Bills" is not a computable statement.
  15. Sal Maiorana @salmaiorana One thing I'm tired of hearing from NFL players - "the main thing is to have fun." For amateurs, yes. In the NFL, winning is main thing Sal Maiorana @salmaiorana EJ Manuel said that last night. I'm glad he had fun, meanwhile, the fans were aggravated he and the other QBs and the entire offense stunk Meanwhile, Aaron Williams on Rex: "He’s fun. He’s the best. You would never expect a head coach to be like that" Williams said. "He’s very loose but at the same time he’s serious and wants things to be done in a certain way. But he never makes a meeting a serious one. He’s always joking around. He wants us to have fun. He feels like if we’re not having fun, we’re not going to play a certain way or to a type of level he wants." - from Rex Ryan a big hit with Bills defense, WGR I wonder if Sal will take it up with Rex, or if it's just his ongoing thing for EJ?
  16. I have serious man love for Robey. Definitely one of my favorite players. LOVE hearing this.
  17. I guess that's the story of Bryce Brown's career. Impressive running interspersed with the occasional head-scratching fumble.
  18. Thanks, Mike! Great report. Glad to hear the offense is stepping it up, especially EJ.
  19. Many people outside Buffalo believe their defense is elite now, much like ours, and in addition they have a QB. So I can see that, even if I don't agree, and even if I think our offensive skill players (besides QB) are hands down better.
  20. Damn it, Astro, answer some questions already! ...I mean, great job, thanks!
