  1. Ok, so you are defending the pass with the hindsight is 20/20 excuse. Just like I thought. Sorry man but this isn't it's easy to criticize after the fact situation. The play call was horrendous and everyone I was watching the Super Bowl with was asking what are they doing when they lined up in the shotgun spread. Just like 99% of the football watching world. It was an obvious mistake after the play and just as obvious before the play. No hindsight needed here.
  2. I don't get why ESPN and NFLN seem to go after the guys with shady histories. Coaine, prostitution, murder. Just some of the crimes that ESPN and NFL analysts have been convicted or accused of.
  3. No I read them but what is with the hindsight is amazing? I really don't see how that can be read any other way than a defense of the play call.
  4. Hindsight is amazing? Please! You are seriously going to try the hindsight excuse on this one. So basically nobody can criticize anything because "hindsight is 20/20." So I could be an NFL head coach and run the ball on every play of the season and when the team finishes 0-16, I will just say hindsight is 20/20.
  5. A play action or roll out could be condoned but still a bad call. Go back and watch the tape. The Pats defense was reeling and confused after the first down run. Line up and run it right away and it is a guaranteed TD. Then you give the Pats the ball with about 35 seconds left and make them earn the right to get into field goal range with their short slant/screen passing game, good luck with that. I think Carroll was expecting a T.O. by the Pats and when that didn't happen, he panicked and didn't stop Bevell from ruining his legacy.
  6. This is so true. In game situations! The Pats had just allowed a miraculous reception that was all but the final nail in the coffin. The Pats were reeling and ready to be put away. The Seahawks pound it for four yards and need 1/2 a yard to go to complete the TD. Get up right away and run it before the reeling Pats have a chance to set and it is an easy TD all the way 100 out of 100 times barring a fluke fumble. Wost play call in NFL history.
  7. Watching the end of the game I am sitting there thinking why is BB not calling a timeout right here saving an extra 30 seconds for Brady? It seemed like an obvious blunder by one of the great head coaches of all time. Maybe BB didn't call a timeout so the Seahawks wouldn't have time to think the play over and would do something stupid, like they did. Just another way BB may be smarter than everyone else.
  8. They got 4 yards on first down after an incredible reception that tore the heart out of the Pats and left them reeling. If the Seahawks coaches are smart you get up and run the exact same play you did on first down (probably better if you run it to the other side) while the defense is trying to get set and you walk into the endzone with about 35 seconds left and rely on your defense to hold. Easy, easy call.
  9. My biggest problem during those years is that Steve Tasker wasn't used as a slot WR more. I think we would have been the Welker of his time.
  10. Great topic! I am surprised that nobody has brought it up before.
  11. I have to admit if the Bills stayed at 9 he would have been my pick. So I will take my lumps there. I still think there is a little hope for him but it defintiely looks like he is the total douche that people though he might be.
  12. We absOlutely have to sign a high quality free agent lineman. I have a fear that Whaley is going to go with another Chris Williams type. Then we will have two guards who can't play for the price of of one guy who could come in and dominate. Also if Whaley decides to rely on the draft to address the line, I thino that would be a big mistake. It is a great free agency for lineman and right now it looks like he missed pretty badly with Kujo, although that could change, I wouldn't count on it. We went cheap on the offensive line last year and got what we paid for.
  13. Based off what Whaley said, it seems that he thinks Glenn, Williams, Wood, Kujo, Henderson could be our starting offensive line next year. If that is the case then Whaley just doesn't get it.
  14. Peterson is a rare athlete and was the best running back in the league prior to his suspension. Plus he basically just took a year off so he should be healed up and ready to go. I guarantee he has at least two great years left. Which happens to coincide with our window. If we are going to fix the online and pound the rock, if available, acquiring AP is a no brainer.
  15. Lynch/Jackson could have been an unstoppable duo with a good offensive line and good coaching. Unforatnately we have not had both those things at the same time in 20 years. Nix was just terrible. Taking any RB 9th overall with as many holes as the Bills had and those two on your roster is inexcusible. Also I know everyone had a chance at Gronk and Wilson but not eveyone selected McCargo and Graham instead. Both guys that left the pundits saying it was quite a reach and the fans saying who? Also two guys that ended up being total busts and pretty much produced nothing at all. He was such a bad GM.
  16. I know I know! Because he was a terrible GM and drafted CJ Spiller 9th overall with a young Lynch and Fred Jackson on the roster. Also passed on Russell Wilson for TJ Graham. Yea we pretty much gave Seattle their Super Bowl victory, maybe two.
  17. Julius Thomas is going to go to free agency and the Bills will have a shot.
  18. Buffalo's exspanion CFL franchise is going to play at the Ralph after the Bills move downtown.
  19. Also Marrone was probably a nightmare for Whaley to deal with. A good relationship be GM/HC is crucial.
  20. Let's not blame Rex for not molding a masterpiece out of a pile of ****. When QB's enter the NFL and their are mostly developed. You can coach them up a bit in the NFL but there is only so much you can do. Rex carried Mark Sanchez to and AFC Championship 2 years in a row. I don't think any coach out there was going to turn Sanchez or Smith for that matter into good-great QB. All this proves to me is Rex can win without a great QB. Also Rex has had pure **** at the skill positions as Head Coach of the Jets. His GM's didn't do him any favors. As far as the NFL being a passing league, it absolutely is. Although, the Seahawks have proven you can still win a Super Bowl with a ground and pound run first style and a great defense. The Niners have had a lot of success with that model as well.
  21. So you don't think it is possible to have a defensive minded head coach and still have an offensive coordinator who can run a good offesne and develop a QB along with his assistiants. Was the early 90's Bills due to Marv Levy? He was a certainly no offensive mastermind and came from a special teams coaching position. Ted Marchibroda, the offensive coordinator had a lot more to do with that offense I would say. How are people still pushing the narrative that hiring a defensive minded head coach means you will not be able to improve your offense and devlop QB's? I don't mean to insult anyone but trying to push this off as a legitimate criticism of the Rex Ryan hire shows a complete lack of understand of the game. Also enough with the Roman garbage. The guy took a QB who is far from a pocket passer and got him to the NFC championship game 3 times in a row and within one better throw of winning a Super Bowl. Just stop already.
  22. Every season during Roman's tenure except for this one, they were 11 in the league in points scored. I guess that is average.
  23. Dude please stop pulling team stats from one year to determine absolutes about coaches. Especailly in a year where everybody knew from the beginning of the season that it was likely the head coach was gone after. Trying to use this one season, this season especially to judge Roman is completely ridiculous and flawed.
  24. Yea just ignore the facts that I layed out in front of you and create your own reality so your narrative of Roman sucking is upheld.
