  1. Lets trade for a RB who will be 27 at the start of the season and has 6 years of wear and tear.
  2. Yep Whaley is a !@#$ing moron. It's official.
  3. Such a horrible comparison.
  4. It's not a compliment.
  5. It doesn't matter what the franchise tag price was. Even with that tag we are not going to be hard up against the cap this year. We could have tag him and let him walk next season with no repercussions.
  6. I hope you are right but I am not feeling to confident about resigning him. If Hughes goes somewhere else, then we let everyone of our significant free agents walk for nothing. That doesn't exactly give me a lot of confidence in Whaley.
  7. Yep "melting down." Yet just another term used to make the opposite poster seem not credible. It's like politics. Just try to paint the other person as a loon rather than come up with a legit counter argument.
  8. If you just want to completely disregard his stats then go ahead. Again let's just post something completely ridiculous to make the people criticizing a team that has not made the playoffs in 15 years seem loony.
  9. Then you can say the same thing about anyone else on that line. Plus the numbers do count for something. The stats back up my opinion. So unless someone had evidence that those numbers are skewed I really don't have to show anything.
  10. Everyone who says that is "too much".
  11. So with your ohhh K you are basically saying the opinion that Jerry Hughes is not just a product of his teammates is should not be taken seriously? It's getting a little old when people respond with things like lol and ohhh k. All that is is an attempt to discredit the poster who you disagree with, without providing any real substance. There is actually no evidence. If you want to post some clips where Hughes is making a play because those around are being double teamed please do so. Until you do that the only thing we can go on is the numbers. Also we are going to judge Hughes based off his first two seasons with Indy? Do I even need to explain why this is totally ridiculous?
  12. You don't know what he wants and this is just another Whaley can do no wrong post. Plus let's all keep ignoring the fact the you can pays this guy's a bit more because we are not tying up any significant money in the QB position. Which I have explained before you won't have to worry about for 5-7 years.
  13. Am I supposed to explain to you why 19 1/2 sacks over the last two years is significant. I'm sure you'll just say that is only because of his teammates. But if you go back and watch the games you will see there were plenty of plays Hughes made himself. He had more of an impact on the defense this year than Kyle Williams. Hughes dominated Joe Thomas one on one but let's give the credit for that to Mario. I know Hughes has been great the last two seasons and the numbers back me up. If you want to discredit those numbers with simpleton arguments like "the players around him made that happen" then the burden of proof to back that up is on you not the other way around.
  14. This defense made Hughes stuff is pure garbage. It is just a lazy argument that people throw out there without having to say anything substantial to back up their opinion.
  15. How many years if missing the playoffs does it take before someone can criticize the GM's approach without having a bunch of people try to discredit that person by painting them as a doom and gloomer, whose opinion shouldn't be taken serious Sorry but I think it is very questionable that Whaley is qualified for this job. He has done some good things but has already had a couple of high round busts and some very questionable asset management. We could miss the playoffs again this year and a year from now the Homers will be lined up to defend Whaley again and ready to label anyone who rightly questions Whaley's approach as someone who is negative no matter what.
  16. As I have said before,it really doesn't matter if you overpay a couple of guys when the QB position is not eating up cap space. Hughes will be considering retirement before the Bills have to worry about the cap. People who keep saying "I wouldn't spend that kind of money on that position/player are clueless. Also a 2nd round pick has a lot of value. Using it on a running back in a deep running back draft is just a backwards way of doing things. Whaley must be nostalgic for the 80's. Whaley is talking a good game but seemingly making the same mistakes his predecessors have made. Yep, nobody can criticize this team without getting the typical homer response, the sarcastic sky is falling post. Fifteen years and if you show any criticism you must be a doom and gloom type and.
  17. This is simply not true. Players bodies react to hits differently than other players. Some players can bend certain body parts farther than other players and some players bone structures are a more resilient to big hits than others. There are without a doubt players in the NFL who are more injury prone than others. Athletes who go the length of their careers without injury aren't getting there by luck.
  18. Orakpo played 7 games last season and just 2 three season ago and turns 29 in July. Hughes has played in all 16 games the last three seasons and will be 27 in August. Signing Orakpo and letting Hughes walk would be terrible asset management.
  19. Yea I watched this a couple of months ago and it looked like clear pandering from a career politician. By the way I consider myself mostly liberal.
  20. If we don't end up resigning him I am going to be pissed. First big free agent that comes up in the Pegula era and we let him walk for nothing?
  21. Hardy is a POS, I would rather have Hughes who seems like a pretty decent man.
  22. Hughes is younger and a better player at this point.
  23. What's so funny? Why do people automatically say lol when they disagree with a point? Is it an attempt to immediately discredit the other poster without having to raise a serious counter argument? To your point, I guess I assumed that when you mentioned how great the players were around him, it was a dig at Hughes, my bad. To call it a "sweeping generalization" though, I think that's a bit much.
  24. Whaley was on WGR about 10 days ago and pretty much said Spiller and Searcy are gone. He said Rambo and Duke Williams would be competing for starting safety. On the other guys, I can promise you that you will never, ever have to worry about finding the cap room to sign any players on your roster without having a 15-20 million dollar QB on the roster. We are not finding one of those guys unless we draft them and that contract is not coming up until 5 years after he is drafted. So we likely have 5-7 years minimum before we have to worry about our cap situation. Whaley better make some big moves in free agency because Hughes was flat out great last season and if he isn't resigned it is a huge loss. Also getting nothing for him via tag and trade or at least making play for you one more season under the tag, which he already said he would do, heading into year 16 of the streak, would be an absolute failure. I am as optimistic as the next guy about Pegula. We are lucky to have him as an owner and I think we will have success under him. That said I don't understand why everyone wants to give Whaley a free pass. While he has made some good moves, his asset management is still highly questionable. Traded an extra first and a 4th to move from 9 to 4 and draft Watkins in maybe the deepest draft ever for receivers. Went on the cheap signed Chris Williams to be the starting guard which was highly questionable from the get go and so far has proven to be a poor decision. Hughes looks like will walk for nothing and most media insiders have us taking a running back in round 2 in a deep running back draft and with it being the most easily replaceable position in football. Yes it is convenient to go with the argument that Hughes was only good because of the people around him but if you actually watch the film you know that is not true. We will still be great at the pass rush but we won't be clearly the best in the league unless we sign someone comparable to Hughes. When you do something better than anyone else, you should try to keep that going.
