Facial recognition software FOR SOME EMPLOYEES at stadiums this year.
Saint Doug replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would be nice to know what they plan on using this data for. To help an investigation of a crime that already occurred. It’s not like there’s a “no fly” list for NFL games. Unless they plan on using to start tracking banned fans. -
Back when I was younger, there was no such a thing as an EDGE. Considering DEs make more money than LBs, some ingenious agent said, my client isn’t a LB, he should be paid as a DE, because all he does is rush the passer. Thus the EDGE was born. But they are basically just a LB.

Caleb Williams is off to a rough rookie start
Saint Doug replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s cool and all. But when I see, not one bust, but a string of busts, you have to start wondering about the school’s QB developmental system. Are they recruiting QBs to maximize their profits or are in the business of getting their QBs ready to be pros. -

Maybe he’s never heard of: Matt Barkley Sam Darnold Mark Sanchez Matt Leinart Rob Johnson Carson Palmer was ok, just too fragile These guys would’ve fit better on a Baywatch set than a football field. -
I don’t believe in arm punts. It depends on the other team actually intercepting it. They’ll be some dumb or selfish players who will intercept it, but the smart play will be to bat it down.

Tua will be the highest paid QB once he signs his contract. Guaranteed. Does he deserve it? Absolutely not, but neither do most of these top 10 QBs. There’s warts on Joe Burrow, but he’s currently the highest paid QB. The Josh Allen numbers are slightly skewed. Diggs accounts for 12% of our 2024 cap and he’s not even on the team. You take that out, Josh accounts for even high proportion. Still, these numbers are pretty tight. And teachers get flack because they have the summer off too.

$23 million in CAP in 2025 if no more moves as of 5/14
Saint Doug replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get we would extend him to gain cap relief and I also get that we would never let him walk in FA. I was responding to the post that we would need to pay him because he has fallen down the pecking order in terms of top paid QBs. That’s what happens when you sign a long term contract. Mahomes has won 3 Super Bowls, 2 of which came after he signed his current contract. Yet, Mahomes is the 9th highest paid QB and I don’t see him asking for a new contract. -

He’s right next to Mahomes. He can get a new contract once he gets a ring. -
We’re much more likely to sign a #1 in FA with Diggs $30M coming off the books next year than to pick in the Top 10.

Who will be this year's Terrell Bernard??
Saint Doug replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only thing I really want is for this year’s Terrell Benard to be last year’s Terrell Benard or better. That is, a sophomore slump for Terrell Benard will be costly. -
That’s it, I don’t want his autograph anymore.

Bills apparently cockblocked the Pats*** at the end of the 1st round…
Saint Doug replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder how much GMs tell each other on draft day. For example, prior to a trade, do they tell the partnering team who they will be selecting? If so, it makes sense that we traded with the Chiefs. This is further supported by Beane saying the Chiefs would’ve picked Worthy anyways. If we knew they were going to pick a player we weren’t interested in, it makes sense to trade the pick to them. -
I personally like the makeup of this offense. If you want to go watch fast Smurfs, you can watch Miami. Not only do we have a QB that will run over a linebacker, we now have WR/TEs and RBs to run through them. This offense will wear defenses into the ground. And once that happens, Josh can throw some daggers, ones only he can throw, to put them out of their misery.

Top 5 QB and Top 5 WR salary cannot coexist on a SB team
Saint Doug replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
We’re paying $28M in fake salary cap money this year. This will be gone next year. At that time and when the cap inevitably goes up, we will be able to easily afford to pay said top 5 salary cap money. So, I think this comment has about a 12 month shelf-life. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
Saint Doug replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t blame Mahomes for our defense playing soft. Not his fault, our fault. -
I get the minority hiring comp picks or if a team truly wants a player back, but it seems weird that if a team actively lets a player go, why should they get a comp pick. Edmunds for example, it really doesn’t seem like we had any intention of re-signing him. Then we have a SB team getting the most comp picks, so we can’t say they are given out for parity.
-
If there’s this many comp picks being given and to this many teams, they should just get rid of them. Seems like it would be a wash.

Jason Peters -2.0?

Exhibit 2 that Beane does not draft BPA in Rd 1 or 2, but rather by need. In case you forget this, you can come back and read it.

Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Rounds 2 & 3 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
Saint Doug replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hope we trade down and get an extra 7th. -
The deepest WR draft if recent history and here we stand.

No. You waited 2 days.

Look at it this way guys. We did a trade with the Chiefs and sent them Worthy. In return, we got this guy and moved up in the 6th round. Does this make you happy?
