  1. I guess you're right. A-Lynn was previously a position coach who was OC for 14 games, running someone else's offensive scheme. Cooter, a previous position coach, has been an OC for an entire season, running a scheme he devised. So, yep, Cooter is likely better equipped to be a HC.
  2. Things I've learned in this thread: the more points your opponent scores, the more likely your team will lose. Bravo, people, bravo.
  3. I wonder why we waited until KC was eliminated to extend this invitation, unless we were outright blocked by KC and we are aiming for sloppy seconds.
  4. I don't think the Texans are going to move on so quick from Osweiller. They've paid him way too much and he's still relatively young.
  5. It's really as simple as cutting him. I love the guy, but the NFL is a business. He's eating up cap space and we've only seen him on the field a few times over the last 2 years. We need to upgrade the position anyhow.
  6. Good candidate, but if they blocked him once, they may block him again.
  7. Considering the Peter principle, it's actually a good thing. In so many other professions, people get promotions until they become stagnant and no longer improve. While they get fired in some cases, they rarely get to go back to their old job, which they actually excelled at.
  8. Don't be fooled. While Whaley was performing his "search" to hire Lynn, Russ introduced McDermott to Kim.
  9. Yep. Bills tried to pull this will assistants when Pettine left. It didn't work out. If an assistant wants to leave, they obviously should be made to continue in their current position.
  10. Impossible given the Bills "search" for a Head Coach.
  11. That's a strawman argument. When people say "let's keep TT", I don't really think it means "We have found our franchise QB in TT. Look no more." You see the difference? There's nothing wrong with keeping TT and drafting a QBs within the next 2 drafts (or however long it takes). Then let there be a QB competition until one firmly shows us the goods.
  12. Serious answer: by actually playing in NFL games, which he has only done for 2 years.
  13. Can't be. Leroi was betting the farm EJ was going to be cut last offseason.
  14. Is there such a thing as a HC candidate retread?
  15. This is very true. You are recruiting 365 days a year. Plus, many dog-and-pony shows to raise money from wealthy donors. Then you need to worry about kids doing stupid things under your watch and their grades. Basically, you are the coach/GM/father/teacher of the team. You don't have to worry about contracts though.
  16. While I'm sure they may have asked for his input, I doubt they asked for his blessing. He's not that accomplished (yet).
  17. True. He's been the most accomplished coach (although not HC) we've had in the last 30 years.
  18. Nothing attracts levelheaded posters like a thread about Tweets posted over a week ago.
  19. Add him to the list then. Considering this is the NFL, is wager it had nothing to do with the product on the field. That is, his ego hurt another, more powerful, man's ego.
  20. Seriously, when was the last time a Bills coach cast-off did anything in the NFL?
  21. OMG. Pittsburgh, total dumpster fire. Who would want to work there!
  22. It all comes down to your QB. The question should be; is your team's QB good enough to win a Super Bowl. If not, it doesn't matter how often you've been to the playoffs, you should be looking to upgrade. What do Stafford, Smith, & Tannenhill all have in common? They will never (did I say never? I meant never) play consistently good enough to win a Super Bowl, let alone even make it to one. To me, TT is an unknown. Sure, he won't beat anyone with his arm, but he sure can beat you with his feet. 6 points is 6 points.
