  1. This feud between the Bills and TBN has got to stop. It's like TBN is having a temper tantrum now. Shoddy writing is one thing (and tolerable), but it's like they have taken it personal. I tried to read this article tonight and it's like they're going out of their way to badmouth Whaley. This quote made me cringe: "A source said it was unlikely Coughlin would interview with the team because of his discomfort with working with Whaley." Really?
  2. To me, the coaching package is much more important to me than just the HC. The coordinators they pick is going to be the deal breaker. For example, if Shanny wants to return a favor and bring his college buddy in as our DC, then his name should be crossed off. Same goes for any candidate. So, don't get your panties in a bunch if your favorite coordinator isn't selected. Sure. Don't confuse articulation with intelligence.
  3. I can no longer lurk in the shadows. I'm the one who mentioned Cowher. Last night as I was getting ready to get off the can, I uttered his name.
  4. Wait, did anyone think he would be happy, or at least indifferent, about this decision?
  5. Very true. Rarely does a team hold a presser and tell the truth. Why did they even bother asking Whaley why Rex was fired? It's painfully obvious and I don't need to read the BN to find out. Plus, I'm not that concerned with Whaley's ability to hold a press conference. Anyone ever see Bellicheck speak? It's painful. It's obvious what happened here. Terry bought an NFL team. He got excited with his shiny new toy and not trusting the guy who has trouble articulating his thoughts, decided to hire another shiny toy named Rex. (It really was an odd hire at the time. We had the #4 defense. So let's blow it up!) He realizes his mistake now and lays it on Whaley's lap to clean up.
  6. Great job with the thoughts. I hope you continue next season. Or, have an offseason one periodically.
  7. I think he's the only one in Buffalo who felt let down by this loss. If you're really sulking over it, you need to reevaluate your priorities in life.
  8. I want the nastiest safety in the draft. And if he's going to go earlier, move up to get him.
  9. It's really simple. He's under contract. Denver cannot legally speak with him unless we give them permission. Without that permission, it's a no go. Case closed. Yep. This time last year Marrone was a "hot commodity".
  10. Hell, wouldn't it be better contract wise if we traded it for pick #32?
  11. Well, he already has the offensive side assembled and word is Bradley would be his DC, who would do all the hiring in the defensive side...
  12. Impossible. I read on here that those 4 years TT was helping Flacco put his jock on were crucial for his development and as a result, we can expect no more improvement. Impossible to think improvement at the most crucial position in football doesn't come from holding a clipboard.
  13. I'd rather have a colonoscopy. At least I'd be heavily drugged.
  14. Did you expect them to automatically start going rogue with a new scheme? This ****ty play is just confirmatory.
  15. I agree with this. I also agree it could've gone the other way. If EJ throws for 300+ yards with a few TD passes, we could've easily cut bait with TT and used EJ as the bridge QB.
  16. I don't believe he did. Here's a great article detailing most of the change Lynn made to Roman's offense. http://buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Offensive-coordinator-Anthony-Lynn---the-first-72-hours/1a30c536-5eb8-4f4f-a7e6-bcb59f32874d But you're right, there's no such thing as a unique offensive scheme in the NFL. They're all running variation of 3-4 known schemes. It's the sequence of plays, defensive fronts presented, and players' ability which make offenses unique. And I think we've pretty much seen this will A-Lynn.
  17. There's no evidence he was running Roman's exact offense. Our offense produced strikingly different results under Lynn. There's even a quote out there saying he eliminated half of Roman's playbook. Besides, if you were suddenly promoted to your boss's job, would keep things exactly the same? Plus, I doubt we'll see much of a change in our offense next season.
  18. Maybe he's that way due to lack of discipline. Needs to be whipped into shape. Dareus too.
  19. Sign me up. This may be the least controversial HC hiring for the Bills in recent memory. Now, I hate continuity for continuity's sake, but I think our offense deserves and needs it.
  20. Here it is. Good reading. Started by FireChan of all people: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/184548-fergys-op-ed-on-mobile-qbs-and-their-career-trajectories/ Great reading. Great discussion. I just wish mods wouldn't automatically lock all old threads. Should be pinned.
  21. No, but does it matter? Every running QB regresses their 2nd year. Every singe one. This should have been fully expected and everyone's panties would be lodged between their cheeks. It is a steeper learning curve as they need to figure out (or not) that you need to learn how to throw the ball to win. I wish I could find it, but there was a multi-page topic on this at the end of last season. If you want to make the argument that we move on to a strict pocket passer
  22. I can't believe this thread on such an elementary concept lasted 3 pages. Is there an argument somewhere in here?
