That's a strawman argument. When people say "let's keep TT", I don't really think it means "We have found our franchise QB in TT. Look no more." You see the difference? There's nothing wrong with keeping TT and drafting a QBs within the next 2 drafts (or however long it takes). Then let there be a QB competition until one firmly shows us the goods.

This is very true. You are recruiting 365 days a year. Plus, many dog-and-pony shows to raise money from wealthy donors. Then you need to worry about kids doing stupid things under your watch and their grades. Basically, you are the coach/GM/father/teacher of the team. You don't have to worry about contracts though.

It all comes down to your QB. The question should be; is your team's QB good enough to win a Super Bowl. If not, it doesn't matter how often you've been to the playoffs, you should be looking to upgrade. What do Stafford, Smith, & Tannenhill all have in common? They will never (did I say never? I meant never) play consistently good enough to win a Super Bowl, let alone even make it to one. To me, TT is an unknown. Sure, he won't beat anyone with his arm, but he sure can beat you with his feet. 6 points is 6 points.

Excellent post. For the people who say "the players should just tackle", it isn't that simple. Each player in a scheme has a very specific responsibility or role. When one doesn't know their responsibility or communication fails, the defensive stance falls apart because players have to leave their role to fill another, and so on. But, which player decides to assume this new role? This has to be efficiently communicated or a player needs to think and decide. This needs to be done in milliseconds and if it takes too long, tackles will be missed or perhaps not even attempted. Now you have players who are playing out of their normal role, trying to decide who is going to fill the void. Taking on a new role, they take on new tackling angles and their efficiency to shut the play down drops.

Don't forget that if they win the Superbowl, they will automatically be known as the best coach in Bills history. Who wouldn't want that?

When it comes to the Bills, especially with Whaley, you have to take everything they write with a big grain of salt. And this is very unfortunate because once a newspaper loses credibility, they lose a lot.

This is multifactorial. Many things go into this, such as injuries, changing of coaching/schemes (changing to a 3-4), trades (Kiko for Shady, Hughes), and Whaley's superior ability to find talent elsewhere (Lorax, Brown, etc). No one gets a prize for having the highest number of draftees starting.

Whether a roster is "average" or not is 50% GM and 50% coach/scheme. If you asked someone if our defensive roster was good in 2014. They'd say it was an elite roster. Ask them now and they'll say "average" even though the roster is almost the same. As for the offense, judgement lies entirely on the QB.

It all depends on who he puts in charge of the defense. In fact, it should be one of the first questions asked.

This is so obviously clear to everyone involved, but TT was completely miffed as why he sat last Sunday. I didn't expect him to be happy, but he had very little insight of this situation and cried foul about the Bills not having confidence in him.

Not trying to bust your balls, but what decisions to they make? The HC decides when to put, if to go for a FG, and likely if they are going to fake a punt. As for who is going to receive punts and kicks, that's already decided before the game.

Besides Jax, is Coughlin interviewing with any team? Maybe he's eliminated any other possible vacancies.

There was a secondary reason too. They wanted to evaluate EJ at this point just to see if he could be a viable back-up or bridge QB. Given the losing state of the season, starting EJ was completely the right decision.

Who is this guy? I've never heard of him till this week.
