I’m not so sure it’s a simple as that. When we mate, we produce offspring that has roughly 50% of the genetic make-up of the parents. Any desirable traits (football IQ gene??) one parent holds has a 50% chance of being inherited. That’s basically a coin flip. What is much, much more likely to influence an offsprings future achievements is being raised in a household that will bestow the values of the parents. This could include having you kid hang out at the stadium all the time, parental insight, positive experiences, with a healthy serving of connections and favors.

No. If they took the best player *available*, that is assuming they are selecting the best player available at the slot they are picking. By moving up, they are selecting a great player they do not think will be available at the current draft spot. So, the best player wouldn’t be available. If they trade down (as 50% of trade makers do), they are admitting that there is no best player available at the slot they were originally given.

If teams really did subscribe to the BPA theory of the draft, there would be no trades. You would just take the BPA. But, there are plenty trades.

I do give him credit for sustaining their prior success. This is a situation where a coach was hired that didn’t automatically rip everything down to it “his way” with “his guys”.

I doubt there will be a 2nd contract given to neither Greedy nor White by the Bills. CB is one of the few positions where a player can step in an play like an All-Pro by the end of the mid-season of their rookie year. Given CB is one of the highest paid positions in the NFL, it makes more sense to just draft a replacement.

This is actually a tough decision. We know who the starter is for next year and the year after. Do we know who the backup QB will be? This season has taught us that a backup vet at QB is extremely important for Allen. Are we going to give Barkley a long-term contract after beating the worse team in the NFL? Or, are we going to pass, say it was a fluke, and go dumpster diving mid-season again in 2019?

Maybe Anderson just wants to go home to his family? He’s basically living at the Stadium and for what? I get thousands of dollars, but I’m sure he’s well taken care of at this point and want to walk away from this nightmare.

Agreed. At this point, I think it’s more important in seeing what Barkley has over what Allen has. No one doubts Allen is the QB of the future. What we don’t know if who the backup QB will be. We’ve all seen firsthand how important this position is this season. It’s been a complete ***** show and has basically ruined our season. We don’t need another repeat next season.

Agreed. Use a 1st or a 2nd. We need a Gurley type that can singlehandedly take over games. It’s not a coincidence that Goff and Gurley are both having excellent seasons.
