  1. Yes, can we re-negotiate a smaller contract? Maybe take away some of his signing bonus?
  2. This game has just quashed any potential of him getting a new contract during this season.
  3. Enough of this! Sit Peter's fat arse!!
  4. Man, that was a blitz! There were players flipping over!
  5. The D seems the only reason the score is 7-6.
  6. Defense still keeping us in the game.
  7. I LOVE it. That would be fantastic for the Cheatriots to be had by the fish.
  8. HOW ABOUT THAT!!!!! BEAST MODE!!!!!!!!
  9. If Marsahwn actually just pushed, and didn't hesitate, he would have had the first.
  10. SWEET!!!!!!!! I just know the defense is going to have to win this one for us today.
  11. Maybe it would be good for them to have their arses handed to them - it'll wake em up!
  12. Yes, you are lucky. But imagine if you were at the game!
  13. That's why Peters did not get his fat contract.
  14. I'm going to puke. How did they all the sudden get on our 20? I missed it.
  15. This sounds about right. Obscene amounts of money are being thrown at CBs now and we are not going to be the ones doing it. While it would be nice in a perfect world if we could keep everyone we drafted, but we can't. The positions where we let players walk are the ones where we have someone ready to plug the hole. We have this luxury with the CB position. Either McKelvin or Youboty will be ready to take his (either Greer or McGee) place and we will draft another in the later rounds to develop. I don't think we will slap Greer with the franchise tag. The FT is more of a band-aid that gives you time to find the players replacement. Downside of the FT is that it is very expensive, especially for the CB position. We have too many other players that we are going to have to reward with fat contracts to be giving out CB franchise tag money unnecessarily.
  16. This is excellent news. My favorite quote is this one: “We’re a lot closer. We have closed the gap,” said Evans, who’s entering the final year of his contract. “Hopefully, we can get it done sooner than later. But I’m not really worried.” This basically states that the two sides are on the same page in terms of the amount of money, which is the biggest hurdle. Now all they have to do is work out all the little details and fine print, which I can't really see tripping up the process. It's only a matter of days now. Perhaps before Sunday's game? If I was Lee, I would want to get this done ASAP. All its going to take is one freak injury and it will be taken off the table.
  17. Are these guys really "young" anymore? They have been in the league about 5-6 years by now (except Cutler), of course they have better resumes. When is the ball washing going to stop? I guess Trent is just too young to be considered young.
  18. Kind of a hard question to answer if you don't qualify the number of wins by what week. For example, if I say "4 wins" this could mean 4 wins by week 4 or 4 wins by week 12 (or any other week). Ignoring week #, by any week of the season, I would say we are definite contenders by 9 wins total. By 8 wins, we will be contenders, but not necessarily "legitimate". 2 wins so far means absolutely nothing. Look what happened in 2003. We beat 2 playoff teams to start 2-0, then flopped the rest of the season - finishing 6-10. I will say we are "beyond that" when we see it. Sorry to be a pessimist, but its been sooooooo long.
  19. Strengthening muscle groups around joints will help stabilize joints if you have lax ligaments to begin with. This is why double jointed people hurt themselves often, because their ligaments are loose and strain easily. Building up muscles will compensate for the loose ligaments. So, yes, strengthening the muscles around the joints will help. However, this will not help for other types of injuries. And I can't exactly detail every injury Trent has sustained in his career. However, his last one, a thigh bruise (if that was really the case) would not have been prevented by extra muscle mass. It is too early to tell this season if he has shaken the injury bug.
  20. I'm not talking about from a salary cap stand point, I'm talking about a motivational issue. If someone gave you 8.6 million over 5 years, would you just coast through your job? You could quit after 4 or 5 years of collecting your paycheck and would be set for life without any other worries.
  21. This is super unfortunate as he did show flashes of brilliance last year. He is the posterboy on why rookies should not be signed to large contacts - they should have to earn their big fat contract.
  22. I like Dick. The size of people's egos matter to me and his isn't overly inflated. Too may people give him the shaft around here, so I think this extension can't come so enough. I certainly don't think it is premature. Any besides, getting this extension surely will take a load off his mind. Hopefully, Bradon can now stop dicking around and get a firm handle on the Evans situation and extend him also. Or, if Brandon has enough stamina, he can extend both of them at the same time. Overdorf can watch or can come and help out if needed.
