  1. I'm definitely pro-education, but giving up at least $50 million guaranteed (i.e. more than what Bradford got from the Rams) would be a bonehead move for someone who could otherwise stay in school and suffer a career-ending injury on his very first play. If he's the consensus #1 pick in the 2011 NFL, he would have little reason to stay in school. He would be risking millions.
  2. Why do you say "tree hugging" dog lovers. What the hell does "tree hugging" have to do with people who are morally opposed to drowning and electrocuting dogs?
  3. Doesn't every QB that's going to picked #1 overall know he's going to a bottom feeder? What team with the #1 overall pick is decent? We'll still pay the same amount of money that any other bottom feeder would pay. He'll be a multi-millionaire overnight, never having to worry about money ever again. He can stay in school, but every football player knows they could be 1 play away from a career-ending injury. If you know your going to be the #1 pick overall, why not come out? Because you may improve your draft position next year?
  4. And exactly how else would we obtain this franchise QB? Off the street? CFL? Free agency? I would think obtaining a Brees via free agency or Warner via the CFL would be shots in the dark?
  5. I would go for this. Trade him for a 3rd or conditional 2nd. He's good, but he's not going to cause this team to win.
  6. I don't know exactly what this change means. Part of me just wants the Bills to go through the rebuilding pains. Win 1 game this year and get a franchise QB in the draft. Pick up the LT in free agency. Putting Fitz in probably will win us about 5 games tops and will get us the number 11 pick or whatever. We have seen this before. It's the foundation of mediocrity. I'm just sick of the losing though. That said, I think it bad to lose games on purpose of getting a better draft pick. But, I thinks it's OK losing games to get a better draft position because we suck and don't have the talent to cut it. It's gonna have to happen sooner of later. We're gonna have to hit total rock-bottom before going up. And, I'm talking Raider/Lions/Rams rock bottom. We're close though.
  7. Or, at least wait to the bye. It's not like we're going to benefit from throwing in a new QB right now into a new system. We shouldn't expect miracles. Maybe this is just what this team needs, a near winless season?
  8. Tell me about it. Do things like this happen with other teams? I remember when players would just "get injured" and would come back in 2-6 weeks or whatever. Now, it seems, Bills players get any kind of injury and they're automatically placed on IR and their seasons done.
  9. This was kinda predictable. He'll make it to the PS. No team is going to put him on their active roster.
  10. I would agree with the OP. Current players (and former palyers too) probably shouldn't be on this board and the internet in general. This is a fan message board. Many people come here to vent frustration and I do think they have every right to do so. This is why the board was made and this is how the internet has evolved - as a place for people to B word and moan while hiding behind their computer screens. This isn't going to change ever because it's part of human nature. People leaving the board isn't going to change this. That said, it would have to take some pretty thick skin for current players (and former players) to sit by and read this stuff on here. Thicker skin then we would think is needed. We all say "it's the internet, grow some balls", but I think it is much harder than we think. We underestimate the psychological toll of constantly being thrown under the bus. I probably wouldn't be able to sit by and read it and not get angry. So, it's probably best if these type of people just left and we should respect their choice.
  11. Or, is this one worse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IA2sm8dv4E&feature=related
  12. I say Nelson starts over Steve Johnson, who over the last 3 years has done absolutely nothing to earn a starting job. True, neither has Nelson, but he's looking very promising right now. Give him a shot.
  13. Geez, what's so wrong with cutting a player who the coaches think sucks. Would people rather waste the roster spot? The Bills have been known to keep dead wood on the roster for years. I'm glad they are starting to come around.
  14. Cowher is overrated. Did nothing until Big Ben came along. That said, he did do more than any of our coaches during his tenure.
  15. I don't get all this "cut Hardy" business. Would the same people be saying "cut Moulds"? Moulds was not doing much at this time of his 2nd year either (and also went on to do nothing during his 2nd regular season too). Sure, Moulds was a 1st rounder, but many people thought Hardy could be a 1st rounder too. My cuts surprise: Steve Johnson McCargo
  16. Just the same way he was snatched up on draft day? What exactly has he done from draft day to now to earn a highly coveted active roster spot on another team if placed on the PS?
  17. For years he has consistently done nothing. People always say "because he hasn't been given the chance". Well, the Bills are now giving him the chance by letting him run with the starters. They are giving him every chance to shine here. If he doesn't, then he may be bye bye. Remember, these are totally new coaches and they may not recognize him all the 5 time All-Pro future HOFer people around these parts do. Come on, in reality, he's done zero. He is a bubble player.
  18. Especially a coach (no matter what day of camp it is). I can see a player "doing well" in training camp but a coach can't start doing well until he starts getting W's.
  19. While he may not be in any legal trouble, this are the types of headlines Goodell and the NFL don't like. Bye bye Vick. I wonder what Dungy has to say about this one?
  20. this is actually a very very typical situation. I see on I-95 everyday groups of crotch rockets weaving through traffic. And I know for a fact they are speeding (as opposed to just appearing to be going fast) because I'm going 80 and they are passing me. I even witnessed a motorcycle accident on 95. Of course, group of CRs were racing through cars. On just tapped a car and he went skidding. By the time he stopped doing cartwheels, all his clothes had been stripped off and he was a bloody pile of meat on the ground. Couldn't even tell if he was human. That said, my father owns a Harley and I respect that. However, it is a donorcycle still. It doesn't matter how fast you are driving or who made the stupid mistake as one minor false move can be your life. That's not as true driving a car.
