Bench some starters for guys who want to play
Saint Doug replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say the Bills go shopping again and start pilfering other team's practice squads. Look for some players that could possible be players one day. Nix has done it before and we really don't have much to lose. In fact, I would say we would have much to gain (geno). -
I'm all for playing are unknowns now. Too bad Ron Brooks is injured. Now would be a great time to throw him in. I would also start cherry picking other team's practice squads. Perhaps they are developing a QB we can snatch up, in addition to the QB we will be drafting next year.

Bills lead league in NFL touchdowns

Bills certainly do lead the league in touchdowns. Touchdowns allowed. -

Just remember, 2 guys named Montana and Young used to play for this team too. That tells you something, doesn't it? -

The problem is our defense has talented players on it. We know they can play better than this. Their shortcomings are fixable. The same can't be said for Fitz. He just doesn't have the talent. He can't get any better. What we see is what we get. -

Why's everyone freaking out? It's only preseason. -
Who will be the Bills QB next year
Saint Doug replied to THE GASH STATION's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True. There were other QBs available at the time that could have helped that team win, but they didn't go after them. They likely could have had Palmer and even Kerry Collins was better. They took the low road and were rewarded greatly. And I really wouldn't complain if they did the same. Play T Jackson, but I think this would destroy the team's relationship with Fitz, who I would like to have around as a back-up and a mentor. -

I don't see Buddy giving up 4 draft picks to move up to get an elite QB, unless Ralph demands it. And we may not have to. If we pick the right person, a mid-late 1st round QB may be all we need. It may be too early to tell, but Pounder, Flacco, and Dalton don't look too bad. Cam Newton on the other hand... Who knows. Then there are crap top-10 picks like Sanchez. Jury is still out with Gabbert and Locker. We likely don't even know the draft order of the college QBs right now, nor will we know it after the college season ends. Between the end of the college season and the draft very strange things begin to happen. It's like the GMs start panicking and players you would never have thought were 1st rounders shoot right up the board. -
Where's Buddy??? Missing in action along with his defense?
Saint Doug replied to rcatty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope he's paying particular attention to QBs. -
Maybe you should take your own logic and reassess your stance on Vick raising a child. It is well documented that victims of child abuse are much, much more likely to grow up and become abusers themselves. Likewise, it's not such a stretch of intellect to realize that parents often instill their own value set into the minds of their children. I don't know if you have children or not, but would you trust Vick to raise your children if needed? He's all reformed, right?

He's not MIA. He's busy behind the scenes actively trying to better the team's ability to win. Didn't you read about the signings of Andrew Jackson and Reggie Stephens? -
It's in reference to exactly what I wrote. It's a scary thought he's responsible for raising a child. Not that he should have the right taken away from him. If you can't comprehend the difference, then I'm sorry I can't help you.
-
Who said he shouldn't be allowed to raise a child? Reading comprehension, man, reading comprehension.

Sorry, he very well knew that dog fighting was wrong and that he was breaking the law. He went through great lengths to hide the dog fighting buildings on his property (they were all painted pitch black) and he vehemently denied fighting dogs until he realized their was a monumental amount of evidence against him. So let's stop with the inner city he didn't know any better stuff. Next people are going to start excusing gang-related murders because they are commonplace in the big city. While Vicki's at it, he should probably delete that little girl from the photo too. The fact that he, a person who electrocuted and drowned dogs with his own bare hands, is responsible for the upbringing of a young mind is sickening and scary.

Looking ahead to the 2013 Draft...I know...I know...
Saint Doug replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, would you trade Dareus or Kyle Williams plus this and next year's 1st and round picks? I would. They are certain high impact players, but not in the game-changing way an elite QB would be. I would thrown Mario Williams's name in there too, but I don't think other teams would want to give up much to get him. -
4 days later and there are 2 plays I still can't get over
Saint Doug replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dunno, if I'm at the goal line and I'm going to try to run it in, I get the ball into the hands of the most electrifying player we have. The player that leads our team in rushing yards and rushing TDs. We can't all just assume that the fumble was a result of his shoulder still being injured. If the team thought his shoulder injury was going to be a liability, he wouldn't have been playing, let alone receive a hand-off at the goal line. If he made it in, we would all be saying something totally different. Truth is, **** happens and it did on that play. -

Do ANYTHING to obtain a franchise QB. Trade future 1st round picks to get one. I'm sick of this "poor man's"... -
OK, I'm driving right now, so perhaps someone else can do this for me. Look up points scored by the opposing team after a Fitz pass has been intercepted. Basically a team capitalizing off a turnover. Then subtract these points from the points scored by Fitz. How do these rankings look now? I'm not trying to prove any point here, I'm honestly curious.

Wow- NFL doesn't give us a chance in Hell........

Michael apparently has no respect for High Motor guys. -
True. I can see some team snatching him up during the off season, giving him some bogus title like assistant coach.
-
I dunno. Belicheat pushes a scab ref. Next thing we hear is that the real refs have reached a deal to come back. That's fishy.

I have something for her to digest. -
Wasn't he fairly decent at throwing the ball too? Couldn't we have kept for competitive purposes? You know, to light a fire under Brad Smith?
