  1. Geno Smith being compared to Jason Campbell and Alex Smith is not what I would call flattering.
  2. Disaster? I don't get it. To me disaster would be the Bills winning this game on a field goal in OT.
  3. That's because it's November. By March and April, we witness an inexplicable phenomena where GMs start falling over each other for QBs and they shoot up the boards. As for the McShay article, I think he meant there are no elite prospects. Which is true. There are no RGIIIs or Lucks. This doesn't mean that 2-3 of the QBs in this class will not turn out to be elite QBs. Nobody knows this - not even McShay. Flacco, Rodgers, Dalton, Wilson, & Brees (or Kapernick, but its too early to judge him) were never considered elite prospects, but they're not doing too bad in this league.
  4. I'd sign him for a receiver position. As a QB? Ah, no. He's no better than Fitz (could be a little worse though).
  5. This is a must lose game for us. But in true Bills fashion, we will probably end up winning this completely meaningless game. I was thinking Jamarcus Russell wanted a mulligan.
  6. I think Whaley is a bit too young for Ralph's tastes.
  7. Good research. This is the sort of stuff Byrd's agent will be singing at the end of the year. Better delete your post.
  8. JJ Watt is playing for one of the best defensive minds in football. He certainly wouldn't be a bust, but I don't think he would be blowing it up on the Bills. As for MD blowing it up if he was on Houston, I guess we'll never know.
  9. He may have the arm, but I don't think Geno Smith is a consensus top pick anymore either.
  10. True, but people want to keep making excuses for him (injuries, etc), but for the last 2 years he hasn't experienced any hardships that other starting QBs haven't experienced. Injuries are part of the game, not unique to the Bills. I'm just upset that Nix refused to draft any QBs over the last 2-3 years because there have been plenty of young QBs available at the spots we have picked that seem to have great potential. Serious blinders there. Now he's in panic mode to draft a QB. I sense a reach coming. Hope it's not a Losman-type reach.
  11. And Johnson was once thought to have a "hot hand" and a "higher ceiling" than Flutie, so let's not get all carried away just yet. Plus, harbaugh's in a perfect situation with this one. He doesn't have to make any decision this week and he still gets to figure out exactly what he has here. The big decision will come next week.
  12. Correct. Brees was lighting it up in SD before he left, but only his last year there. All the other years he sucked enough for them to draft Rivers. It is a very good story and a reason why teams shouldn't be so quick to give up on their QB (unless they are a proven journeyman QB who was a former 7th round pick).
  13. I think he'll be able to put on his big boy pants and deal with it. If he has any sense of the history of the Bills, he'd understand.
  14. I like that song then. May get up and do that dance right now.
  15. It looks like the wheels of the Geno Smith bandwagon are falling off. Too bad. He looked special earlier in the year.
  16. If this indeed was an intelligent discussion, the OP would have mentioned that we should have drafted a QB 1-2 years ago for "grooming" purposes. Only losing organizations wait till their QB completely fizzles out before drafting his replacement. 17. You are absolutely correct here. But this statement proves you are drunk. Sleep it off.
  18. I would rather draft one and have the feeling that we may have our franchise QB, a sense that we are progressing and the future will be OK (a false sense of security or not), rather than deal with Fitz (or some other garbage QB) for another year.
  19. This is how real organizations develop their QBs. They're suppose to be drafting a QB for 3-5 years down the line, something the Bills don't understand. Green Bay did the same thing.
  20. I think you misunderstood me. My post was not sarcastic. I agree with you.
  21. But, we as fans, are not playing the games. The Bills players are. Therefore, there's a clear distinction of what fans want and what players strive for. I don't think anyone here wants the Bills to purposely tank the season (although I have my doubts sometimes). But, if they were to give an effort, their current effort, but still lose out, I don't see any problem there. Winning insignificant games against last place NFC teams have hurt is more than helped us. But we have shown complete ineptitude in trying to draft a franchise QB from the 6-10th position. It just hasn't happened. It's like the Bills are waiting for lightening to strike when it's not even raining. In contrast, although there are no guarantees, there's not one person on this board who would admit that the chances of getting a franchise QB are equal between picks 1-6 versus picks 6-10.
  22. Speaking of which, the Bills play the Jags on December 2nd. Under no circumstances should the Bills win this game. That is a must lose. If they're going to win one single game more, it better not be the Jags.
  23. Awesome! I love the dumpster diving part of the year. A chance to find tomorrows superstars. Anyone lnow anything about these gems?
  24. Bills vs Jax? That is a MUST lose game if there ever was one.
