I don't understand why these players act this way. I get it that some of them grew up in tough conditions but once you have made it as a professional athlete then "grow up". They can lead a lifestyle that most of us can only dream about. Why throw it all away doing stupid s***.

I wouldn’t call someone in their mid-20s “grown up”.

The timing is a douche move by Leslie, if the move was not forced by Bills.

We have Super Bowl aspirations, now we are scrambling.   It’s BS- he quits on team after the rest of NFL secures their coaching staffs, and it’s combine week.

Not scrambling. His contract was up and everyone knew this. The Bills were within their right to move on due to this. They chose not to and to let it play out.

  3. I agree that we need better OL play, but this to me sounds like another excuse. Last offseason, it was a pass rusher. All we needed was another pass rusher to beat the Chiefs. By our performance in the playoffs, I don’t even think we fixed that. Granted, Miller was injured, but our pass rush was nonexistent. What’s next year’s scapegoat going to be?

The fact that the Sabres have missed the playoffs as much as they have in a league wirh more playoff berths is way worse than the Bills drought. Plus, they have constantly have had top 5 picks, which the Bills rarely have. So it’s more than Tim’s they have a good team.

this Sabres team is very entertaining. Love making money betting their overs. As someone who loved hockey and grew up playing it, I’m so happy they are fun. It would be awesome if they made the playoffs. And I would love any Buffalo championship. But hockey still feels a little minor league in the big picture. But I would have a lot of fun celebrating. Bills would be a national story and it would feel so amazing.

Settle down Doug. Sabres haven’t even made the playoffs yet.

Of course, they still have a month to screw things up.

But, I also think it’s unfair to compare playoff droughts and drafting between the 2. NHL draftees take many more years to properly develop compared to NFL draftees, many of which become starters right out of college. So, naturally it’s going to take more years to turn the ship around.

  5. 5 picks vs 1/2 picks in Round 1 says the most to me. And I t’s interesting that the year they traded their 1st for Diggs, they still used their next pick available on a defensive player. This is still a clear pattern of draft strategy. Maybe they think offensive in 1st round picks are too risky or that McD believes he can coach-up any deficiencies a defensive 1st rounder may have.

But this is all just an exercise in futility. It doesn’t matter where they are drafting offense vs defense if they are not hitting on these picks. And they aren’t. They need to get better identifying talent in all rounds.

The Sabres haven’t made the playoffs in 11 years and have less points then a rebuilding red wings team. If you don’t pick the Bills I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe follow log rolling 🤷‍♂️

The Sabres are the youngest team in hockey and are fairly equal (ie 2 points) with the Wings, despite them going on an off-season spending spree. The Sabres have 4 point per game players with 5 over 20 goals. They have arguably the best defenseman in hockey and another one following in his footsteps. Detroit has 1 PPG player, the only one over 20 goals.

In 2 years, with competent goaltending, they’ll be going deep into the playoffs. A hot goalie is sometimes the only thing needed to win a Cup and they have the hottest goalie in the NCAA over the past 2 years.

Other than that, the shelf life of good teams in the NHL lasts much longer than good teams in the NFL. NFL teams usually have a much shorter window and the Bills window inched down a little since this past season due to Allen’s contract. Longer open window means more tries.

My money says the Sabres. You can stick with log rolling.

Unless there is a sure fire, first round, or they’re at 27 trade down and get more at bats

Was just going to say this. Beane has been downright horrid drafting in rounds 1 and 2. Trade them both for more 4th-6th rounders where he does a bit better. We have too many needs: MLB, safeties, whole OL, TE, and WR2. More picks the better.

How is a salary cap for QBs supposed to be implemented.  Does each team get say $50 million in total for the QB position?  So Allen would get $45 and 3 other QBs would split the $5.  It would never work, the NFLPA would never agree to it, cant limit the $ for one specific position.

The league ebbs and flows and right now QBs are ridiculously important, the league wil evolve and change.

I think the NFLPA would definitely be on board with this. Would automatically mean more money for all non-QB positions. That said, this would still go against the reason of having the cap. More money spent on other positions would disrupt parity.
