  1. "This is boring. Put on Dancing with the Stars"
  2. So, basically, he visited the Bills and will get back to them if he doesn't get a better offer, will will likely happen after the draft.
  3. You are right. He did call the Gailey hire. I also remember that. But I wonder if anyone has been sent packing since then? Modrak? No, I don't think he knew how to turn on a computer.
  4. I can't remember, was Nevergiveup still around after they cleaned house and made Nix GM? Could he have been a victim of the every 3 years house cleaning?
  5. I must've missed the memo. I didn't think we expected to be at all competitive this coming season. I'm not saying we should pick a WR, but you must understand, a WR picked in the first will have a much greater chance of being a star than one picked in the later rounds, who in all likelihood will take longer to develop and won't be as skillful.
  6. From past experiences, us not hearing anything is a sure sign that he has no intention of signing here. We've seen this episode before. Player comes into Buffalo. Silence. Signs with another team out of the blue. Let's not get our hopes up here.
  7. While I don't think I agree with the OP, we'll have to wait to see how the rookie salary cap changes the NFL landscape over the next 5 years, the thread is original and provacative. Look at page 1, it's littered with threads such as "Are the Jets forcing the Bills to take a QB?" or "Let's take Nassib in the 3rd".
  8. They have 13 picks and probably only 2-3 positions not completely locked down. I'm sure between their stacked roster and lack of cap space to sign them, they will either have to trade the picks away or cut a bunch of draftees later. Definitely worth taking a look by Nix if they decide to draft and cut them later.
  9. I've been buried under a pile of flesh for the last 24 hours. Barack Obama could've walked in and I wouldn't have noticed. I should be more vigilant.
  10. The good news is that there's no way all 15 make the roster. In fact, a good proportion won't and that when Nix should start sifting through the scrap heap.
  11. Wait, the reason for the Jets trading Revis and gaining an extra 1st round pick was to get us to pick Nassib? Seriously? It couldn't have anything to do with the chance of gaining an extra 1st round talent.
  12. This definitely couldn't have gone in the Nassib thread. It just couldn't have.
  13. I think it is, and has always been clear that the Bills are going to take their QB at 8. The Jets trade doesnt change this. Nix has consistently said there are at least 2 franchise QBs in this draft. Given that view, who in the world would pass one of them up at 8 with the aim of getting them in the 2nd, after many QB-hungry teams have picked? That's just crazy.
  14. I'm at the Sundowner. No Bills related activity to report.
  15. I wasn't attacking your comment, I was highlighting it.
  16. I think they do look favorably upon Nassib. I would pick him at 8 just to piss Rex off.
  17. But most importantly, neither does Nix. In fact, he's shown his lack of concern by 1) letting the best OG on the team walk, 2) telling the Bucs GM that they are "set" with tackles, and basically telling the media they have "more talent than people think" with the current OLmen. Say what you will and reason how you may, but we will not be selecting an o-lineman with #8. Period.
  18. Jasper 2013. There's one every year.
  19. But now you're using circular logic. You're saying that an offense line can look "respectable" through great QBing and offensive game planning. But, then at the same time aren't you saying that we don't need a QB, but a great line instead (the central tenant of this thread)? You admit, and I agree, our current QBs are crap, so to what end would an elite OLman serve? That would be like installing a state-of-the-art security system on Ralph's 1988 Ford Taurus. And from what we hear, Marrone will be installing some type of up-tempo WCO. A type of offense that relies on getting the ball out fast. From what you detailed above, our current OL should flourish under such a system.
  20. This thread is great and all, but we had one of the best o-lines in the NFL last year and where did that get us? So, /thread.
  21. Some fine dumpster diving. Who now said we wouldn't be active in free agency?
  22. No, Provo, Utah. They are the next city to get Google Fiber. Good for the Bills.
  23. I would say the Federal Government doesn't charge someone with a crime unless they have overwhelming evidence and are assured of guilt. Look at Richard Jewel. He was harassed to no end by the FBI, but at the end of the day was never charged with the Olympics bombing. Still destroyed his life.
  24. You're being very provacative. Truth is, it's not black and white. Agents are like lawyers. There's many working for their clients, but many working just for themselves.
  25. Not at all. But when I read these stories about players holding out and crying to the media about how they need to be able to put food on the table, I can't help but think the agents are getting into these players' heads and getting them all worked up about how they deserve to make more money. When a players sits out training camp or half the season, I don't think the players want to do this, but their agents convince them to. He may have had a bit of a down year in 2012, but is there another defensive player in the NFL as dominant and game changing as Matthews? And he's only 26. We probably hasn't even hit his prime.
