  1. I'm sure Vick appreciates those comments, getting killed and all last season. I guess you only really have to play if your team's winning. Otherwise, why bother.
  2. I'm already with the lack of sacks and how he's not a "penetrating" player, but are his roughly 2 tackles per game going to be enough to stop the run?
  3. Damn, I was hoping the Bills would have deep into the Offseason Workouts playoffs.
  4. Only half-sarcasm. While this wouldn't be a bad signing, it's just not something to cause excitement.
  5. This is some great trash bin sifting. Pretty sure this signing would only amount to an extra warm body for camp.
  6. I can play that game too. Look at San Fran and the Ravens. Did they both have 2 #1s playing opposite sides of each other? I'm not saying you can have any old scrub playing WR, but I would rather have, in addition to Stevie, 600 yrd seasons out of both my #2 and #3 rather than a #2 with 1,200 yrds.
  7. That may be true, but some of these criticisms are the same ones he used against Newton, most of which have not been proven wrong yet.
  8. I don't know about TJ being good or not, but most playoff teams have shown us that having 2 #1 receivers is not necessary. An great QB should be able to make all WRs shine.
  9. I'm perfectly fine with it. I don't think this guy got a fair shake. Let's see what he can bring, but this signing should not prevent the Bills from taking a QB in rd 1 or 2 (preferably 1).
  10. That's very damning. Although we may be taking these comments out of context, I'm wary of people who don't have at least one good thing to say about someone. The world is not black and white.
  11. They may have lucked out indeed. But, they now have very promising QBs and may be set for years. That's not going to happen, ever, if you're sitting on the sideline wondering about getting in the game. That's why I fault Nix. Even if we drafted a QB in the first round each of the 3 years and struck out with each one of them (an unlikely scenario), we would still be no worse off than we are right now. He didn't even try, but other teams did and they're now reaping the rewards.
  12. But that was the same logic behind not taking one the last 3 years. I know you think drafting a good QB is hard, which is why 9/10 of us wouldn't be able to pick one, but that doesn't give Nix an excuse for not being able to identify a winner. He's a professional, likely making more money we could ever wish for. Him and his men have got to start working for it. As for the OP, great post. But, I'm going to remain guarded in terms of us picking Byrd over Levitre. We've basically signed him to a 1 year contract, same as we did with Nate Clements. We've heard nothing about us trying to iron out a long term contract with him. I'll believe it when it happens. As for Kolb, this is a situation where we were aiming to upgrade a position and we did. We only had 1 real QB on the roster, a questionable one at best (there's a reason he was inactive every game last year, supposedly due to lack of game plan knowledge, and now he has learn a new one). Kolb will be TJ's competition and it didn't cost a pick. Who knows what will happen with him. He's relatively young and hasn't been given a fair shake. Some QBs take longer to develop than others.
  13. I think if the Bills thought a #2 WR was a need, they would have addressed it in FA. Plus, I don't think 2 #1 WRs is needed. Most playoff teams, especially the ones who go deep, while solid at both WR positions, don't have 2 #1s. What we do need, perhaps more than any position (excluding QB) are LBs. Second need would be CB. If Geno/Barkley is gone by 8, take a LB or trade up, then try to trade back into 1st to take a QB later.
  14. I have absolutely no problem with this signing, just the way it went down. Kolb was cut by the Cards 2 weeks ago. He could have easily been picked up by a number of teams. Why did it take so long for the Bills to come to the conclusion he would be a viable option? Either the Bills haven't prepared themselves for multiple possibilities (i.e. the possibility of the Cards cutting Kolb and how they would respond), don't have a general plan to improve their QB position, or just don't plain know what they want.
  15. Comparing number of starters per draft with other teams is precarious at best. Just because our former draftees are starting for the Bills doesn't mean they would start for other teams, or even still be in the NFL if it wasn't for the Bills. Case in point, Aaron Williams or our entire starting LBs.
  16. I'm going to blame his slump on Wanny. Isn't a coaches job to get their players mentally ready for a game? Didn't happen with Dareus, nor with half of the players on defense.
  17. Just imagine the mayhem he'd cause at Dave & Buster's.
  18. He'll go in the 2nd, if not late 1st. He's undoubtedly a 1st round talent, just very immature. If you can afford the risk, like many teams drafting late in the round can, he could end up being a steal. Can you just imagine our secondary with him? Isn't smoking weed a prerequisite for an NFL career though?
  19. You know, it's going to be something ridiculous, like a 6th rounder, and TSW is going to collectively ask why didn't the Bills make that trade and then head to the nearest cliff.
  20. For this reason alone, we should pass. Perhaps we should send an anonymous message to the Bills FO not to forget to check out his back.
  21. This will never happen. Bills FO already has shown is they do not value the guard position. Hence the dumpster diving they do to fill it. Hence the failure to sign Levitre.
  22. I'm quite certain this is going to happen, and the Bills brass does too, hence the FA in activity. There's a difference between going on a FA spending spree and signing enough FAs in order to have a near-complete roster. I see the Bills doing neither. Which is fine, I suppose. I don't see us going anywhere with the current roster even with did spend a bit on FAs. Might as well conserve the money for when we become competitive.
  23. I do agree that Barkley will likely be the first QB off the board.
