  1. Except for picking Willis in the 1st round, I have been impressed with almost everything TD has done for the Bills AT THE TIME that it happened. Now it looks like I'm going to be watching meaningless December football AGAIN In my opinion, the only thing that saves the season, is a late November and December showcasing Losman / Evans / McGahee. If the fans can be convinced the new trio can be something special before the end of this year then I think we will be okay in the next offseason. If we have to wait until next year to see their talent (or lack of) I think I might just have to stay away from TBD next offseason 'cause it's going to be UGLY.
  2. The stats say 30 pass plays to 26, which means we were running more than passing until the game was out of reach. The OL played pretty well, again until the game was out of reach. Drew played pretty well, until the game was out of reach. The game was out of reach because Henry screwed up on 3rd AND 4th down. The 3rd down play is disturbing because it's the second week in a row he slipped on a key play. The 4th down play demonstrated that either he loses focus when he's not running the ball or he's simply a mental midget. Either way, he's playing the Bills out a 1st round pick for him Bad teams find ways to lose and that is EXACTLY what we are doing. We suck in those 5-6 key plays that define a game on offense AND defense.
  3. Exactly How about Rocky II or III or IV? I'm sick of consolation prizes. I want 17-2. Screw Brady and the Pats. I want signs in every other stadium again saying "Anyone but the Bills". I want Boomer saying on Primetime "Nobody, circles, the, wagons, like, the, Buff-A-lo, Bills." Only 14 hours until our coming out party. Bring on our Apollo Creed baby. Get on the wagon or get out of town.
  4. Don't you feel a little immature talking about your "rights" on a web board and referencing the terms of service? I'll give you a couple of hints - it's twoBILLSdrive and it's not Corey Dillon at the top of every friggin page. The best thing about Bills fans is they're not Pats fans. "Thurman's Helmet". Nice name. Good luck with life buddy.
  5. Can you explain this rule you suggest? 52314[/snapback] Well I didn't suggest it but here is the explanation: If all the players on the team that is offside clear the offensive zone they are no longer offside and play continues. Currently it's still offside until the defensive team carries the puck out of their zone. The rule was used a few years back but was eliminated because people were saying that it caused too many dump ins - teams would dump the puck in before their teammates were onside. Not sure where I stand on this rule.
  6. Au Revoir Les Expos. I lived my pre-teens years in Montreal in the '70s when baseball was king during the summer. Warren Cromartie, Ellis Valentine, Andre 'Hawk' Dawson, Ron Leflore, Steve Rogers, Gary Carter. There were some very good teams back in the day. Listening to Dave and Duke on the radio. Good times.
  7. Please don't ever use Kama Sutra and John Kerry in a sentence again. Now I'm not going to sleep all week.
  8. I'm siding with owners during the lockout, but damn straight I would try to screw the owners out of their money if I was in JRs situation - it's not like he's going to see a contract that fat again. For $7.5 million, I might even complain of cramps
  9. Even Wayne the bureaucrat led the Canadians to Gold in 2002 Olympics and the recent World Cup. As punishment for questioning the great one, please tuck only the right side of your shirt in for the rest of the day.
  10. AD - please refrain from disparaging the Great One. Otherwise it would be my duty as a Canadian to blather on about Gretzky like he's Christ on Skates until you admit that he embodies everything that is good in the universe. Don't think I won't - I've got all winter with nothing to do
  11. Umm, I'm pretty sure YOU'RE not 'supporting' Drew.
  12. I don't agree with the whole post Navy, but I agree with Henry's missed blocks and his poor decision making. I am interested in seeing Willis get more game time - because I think our passing game will improve when he is in there. Henry is a great runner, I'm just not sure he has all of the other skills required from a back today.
  13. Hmm, well why don't you look at it this way - why don't you compare the last 2 games prior to Mularkey with the first two games with Mularkey - we're scoring almost 7 times as often and giving up almost half the points. If we keep this trend going, we'll be scoring like a bazillion points a game by the end of the year while giving up 0. Our coach will be named Coach of the Century. It's a new HC, new OC and a new system. Give it some friggin time.
  14. Does anyone else think the cop might have been a little less than accurate with a stopwatch over a quarter mile? I can't believe that valid tickets are still issued this way. Using a stopwatch over that distance and coming up with a time like "4.39 seconds" is ridiculous. On the plus side, maybe they can afford a radar gun with this guy's fine
  15. I'm not making excuses for Big Mike, but he's probably just starting to get himself in game shape after the sorry offseason he had. I've always said (well once ) that our season starts with the NE game. I committed to giving the team and coaches the first two weeks as an extended preseason. After the NE game, if we continue to play like we have, MW will be only 1 of 11 offensive guys I want moved/benched/traded. Of course, I expect the Bills to play more focussed with a big division game at home.
  16. Do you really want to say that the Jags know how to win because they are sitting at 2-0? That Hail Mary needed on 4th down against the Bills was from a team that knows how to win? The Broncos fumble at the end of the game yesterday was because the Jags know how to win? I agree some teams know how to win and we aren't one of them. Neither are the Jags. There is a difference between being lucky and knowing how to win.
  17. I hate to quote John Madden, but it was either the Thursday night game or the first Monday night game where he mentioned that if opposing defenses see that your RB can't pick up a blitzer - look out because they will be coming all day. I like the way Henry runs, but I don't think he's a complete back - I guess I'm questioning his understanding of the game. But I wish Henry was our biggest problem. Why are we not capable of catching passes unless they are perfect? Other receivers seem to pull in poor/average throws, we seem to drop ALL of them.
  18. Although I didn't want to use the ignore feature at first, I now have 9 posters ignored! TBD is slowly returning to an interesting place to visit again.
  19. Huh, what? Did somebody say something I confess I've used the ignore button, but only in self defense
  20. 0-3, 0-4, 0-16 :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: I don't understand why Bills fans who already think we can't beat the Pats in Week 4 AT HOME bother watching the Bills this year. Why not just spend Sunday afternoons doing something else, or go away until next season? Who wants to watch a team that you're already convinced will be lucky to win 5 or 6 games? I'm not big on picking the whole season: key injuries, weather, exposed weaknesses, key matchups, etc., too many things change week to week to predict a full week in advance, forget a season. Here is what I know. Win or lose this weekend, the Bills players, coaches, managment, owner, and fans, know that the Patriots are a great measuring stick early in the season. If we have weaknesses, BB will expose them after a bye week. In my mind, that game is truly the start of our season and it ticks me off that people are writing it off already. Every day our team works to get better and every Sunday they lay it on the line. The least they can expect from the "fans" is to believe in them for more than one fuggin' game! Hammer Oakland then bring on the Pats. The Pats are LUCKY they're meeting us early in the season while we are still putting the pieces in place. There's something special happening with the Bills and it's probably going to happen "under the radar" for the next month, but this team will learn how to win, and if we do it in time, nobody will want to play us in the playoffs. Teams don't magically turn into Champions overnight, it takes time with hard lessons along the way. Enjoy the ride because within the next few years, this team is going to bury "Wide Right". Are your ready for some football
  21. Mr. 4everBills, meet my ignore button.
  22. Interesting take, but I'm too conservative (right-wing?) to accept that revenue sharing is required. My thinking is that the league sets a fair bar (the salary cap) and the owners decide if they can meet it. If they can't meet it, then the team should probably fold or move. Howevever, it's my belief that once there is a legitimate cap in place the great majority of teams will be able to come close. I don't know why I think a salary cap is ok, but I don't like revenue sharing. I didn't say my opinions are consistent - that's why I stay out of PPP forum .
  23. No. Although there is some money that goes to small market (Canadian) teams if they meet certain incentives in season ticket sales. Do you really think it's the revenue sharing that makes the level playing field or the salary cap? Personally, I think it's the salary cap. In the NHL, the player's union has been very strong for decades and the owners have a history of caving. Apparently the owners have told Bettman that they are willing to lose the whole season to get a salary cap. I guess we'll see. I think the NHL will end up with a luxury tax similar to MLB, except that the penalties will be more severe. Also, if the league keeps arbitration, I'm hoping contracts from teams paying the luxury tax aren't considered in the arbitration amounts - that way a couple of teams (Rangers) spending ridiculously won't set precedents for the rest of the league.
