  1. If he spends most of the off-season in Montana, he knows he's done.
  2. In my opinion, Drew will be back next year and for the first time in his career (I think) he will have to compete for his job. If he is a competitor, and I think he is, we might see an improved Bledsoe next year after a full off-season with the coaching staff working with him AND JP pushing him for playing time. I'm hoping that JP takes the job away from him in camp, but I think it's going to be tougher than simply beating out the 2004 Bledsoe. I think it's shaping up to be an awesome battle and I can't wait to hear from the open practises next camp. If Drew thought he showed mental toughness dealing with the media after 0-4 this year, he had better be ready in 2005 - he starts a game throwing 0 for 4 and fans will be booing him like he was Ashlee Simpson. If he steps up and delivers a career year and keeps JP on the bench, the Bills might have a chance to deliver Ralph his Lombardi in his own backyard. Either way, if these two guys are prepared to go all out in training camp, I think it can only be good for the Bills.
  3. I completely agree - I think we need a new finger-quote smilie guy for exactly this situation.
  4. Too funny - I have never seen anyone use the "quote-unquote" in a piece of writing before since quotes are actually available: Particularly when you're talking about today's mainstream "music industry" Not a criticism - just thought it was interesting, in an Alaska Darin kind of way.
  5. Fourth scenario - Mularkey allows JP to compete in minicamps and preseason and JP outplays Bledsoe. There is a chance this could happen - JP gets a full off-season with the coaches and the coaches don't have to focus on implementing a new playbook. Last year, Bledsoe needed more minicamp and preseason reps to learn the playbook, limiting JP's opportunities. I think JP has an opening this offseason, if he is willing to do the work.
  6. I think I would rather have N.E. beat the Jets this weekend to keep the second wild card spot open. Maybe, with just a pinch of Winter Warlock's magic, we can make the Rams fly over the Jets in Week 17.
  7. I'm in - but I have to say this feels a lot like the haiku thing from last year - how did that work for us?
  8. The best news on that site is that the Texans could still be playing with a slight chance for the playoffs against Jax. They just need the Titans to defeat Denver and they won't be eliminated before kickoff. This makes a Titans win even more important to the Bills.
  9. No way I'm playing Scrooge. In recognition of Beerball's creativity, MORE COWBELL
  10. Fair enough. Personally, I think we have about a 50-60% chance of beating the Steelers at home in Week 17 if both teams have something to play for, otherwise I think it will be 70-75% if Pittsburgh has home field wrapped up. I would much rather get into the playoffs against a weakened team than allow the refs to steal one from us in a close game in Week 17. If we make the playoffs, there will hopefully be several opportunities to prove to national audiences how far the Bills have come this year. On a slightly more humorous note, you know you're in a Bills forum when a team that might win its final 7 games of the season is accused of "backing into the playoffs"
  11. We can kick the crap out of them in the playoffs in Pitt - or are you afraid that we won't be able to get to the AFC Championship game.
  12. Bills Offense - 24 Bills Defense 14 49ers - Ask TD if they can "borrow" a few of our guys for the game because they couldn't get enough of theirs to show up during the holidays.
  13. Even if we are the best team right now, the whole season is important in the NFL - it will be tough to go through 3 solid AFC teams on the road in the playoffs, even if we are the best team. If we win at Indy, at New England and at Pittsburgh, followed by a Superbowl victory, I will happily declare this the greatest Bills team ever
  14. We might, but what about Drew Rosenhaus and WM? Since it has been acknowledged that WM's contract was incentive-laden, I wouldn't be suprised if one of the goals was 1000 yards.
  15. I don't think it's a trap game this weekend. In my opinion, a trap game is against a team that can beat you if you're not prepared - right now, maybe KC, Tennessee or even Miami. SF is firing blanks, it Christmas weekend, they are at home with their families and have nothing to play for, the coach is waiting to get fired and the owners are too cheap to buy him out. SF mails this one in. In summary, SF isn't good enough to run a trap play, forget about them winning a trap game.
  16. Never thought I would say this, but I don't see the Bengals making as many mistakes as our opponents have over the last few weeks We can't lose the turnover battle and I think we are going to need 17+ points from the offense. I can't see the Bengals scoring over 17 against our defense and special teams if they have to drive 70+ yards all day.
  17. I want to see Lindell kick a couple of 40+ yard field goals - when we're up and the game isn't on the line. Next week Lindell may be asked to be a difference maker, this week he needs a couple of practise shots.
  18. I also think its a sellout announcement, but I don't think there is deadline preventing contract extensions - I thought the deadline was just that after it passed you could no longer adjust the hit on this year's cap numbers.
  19. IF we make it, we could have one heck of a run - this could go down in history: at COLTS (13-3) at STEELERS (14-2) at PATS (15-1) EAGLES (15-1) It's going to be tough for a wild card team in the AFC, but it's time the Bills get some good bounces and a few breaks
  20. Beer and strip clubs advice - why the heck would I leave Canada for either of those Golf is a pretty good idea - we just might do that on Friday. Friday Night the 3 of us who still have livers will probably become the arrogant Canadians laughing aboot your watered down American beer and partially-clad American strippers. Hopefully the two designated drivers keep us out of too much trouble.
  21. I always thought my first NFL game would be in Orchard Park, but it turns out it's going to be in Jacksonville in early February for SB XXXIX. B) Part of my limited responsibilities for the trip include planning meals and activities for the Friday before the game for 5 Canadian men (all married) between 35 and 60, including two that don't drink. Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks.
  22. Pat Tillman was a hero. This isn't a fuggin comic book argument about who's hero is better/stronger/faster. They are all heros - the world is a better place because there are great men and women willing to sacrifice for the rest of us. Tillman was one of those. Even a stupid Canadian gets it.
  23. I agree - Drew will be back. I'll even go one step further, how we finish the year is almost completely irrelevant to who starts next year. I think they both will share snaps in training camp and Losman will start next year if he's better than Drew. This is not about Drew or the coaching staff, it's all about J.P. We need Losman to step up and rip the job away from Drew. I would love Losman to get a start late this season for experience, but hopefully we are in the playoff hunt to the end and then it's just not practical.
