  1. If peters doens't accept the Bills offer of 8.5 - 9 mil per season then screw him
  2. I say screw Peters. Draft a replacement in the and tell Peters to accept the deal on the table or play out the remainder of his contract. If we take Oher at #11 we have a T who can easily play LG for us this year. If Peters holds out we have personel to soften the blow. If he signs or decides to play on his exisitng deal we have a solid OL. Under no circumstance woudl I even consider making Peters the highest paid LT in the game. 1.) because he is not worth it 2.) because he held the team hostage last year 3.) He sign an extension odf his own will and still has 2 years left on that deal. Evans could have held out, but he didn't and the team rewarded him for that. Peters on the other hand already received a raise and a contract extension and then a year later cost this team with a hold out. There is no argument out there for caving into Peters demands. NONE. If the Bills are stupid enough to leave the leverage in peters hands and not have a replacement option ready to go after the draft.. OR if the Bills are stupid enough to trade him just to not have to deal with him anymore, well then the franchise would just re-prove how incredibly inept they are.
  3. Trent overall did fine for his 1st full year of starting... He had growing pains, but he did manage games well and our time of possession was up considerably when Trent is QB'ing. Whihc in return kept our D reseted and helped us win a few games. Add in the fact that we lacked Weapons at WR and had Royal as our TE, then add in Peters hold out and his inconsistent play, and the fact that our running game was anemic for much of the season, and Reeds injury and you can understand why we fizzled down the stretch Of course trent needs to improve, but if this is a debate about getting a new QB this year well that's retarded. We are committed to yet another QB and we either let him develope or we stay on the QB carousel and never get over the hump.
  4. force him to play on his existing deal and draft Oher @ #11 if he holds out we have perosnel to absorb the blow. If he decides to play we have a very rock solid OL and are better able to deal with Peters in 2010. Bottom line is the Bills are not going to offer more then the 8.5 - 9 million already on the table. If Peters is dumb enough to hold out again, and /or play on his exisitng dela then Peters is the one that has the most to lose.
  5. TE comes after OL DL and LB TE is a luxury pick for the Bills
  6. 1st Oher is a top rated T... and would give the Bills leverage agianst Peters lame ass demands... Think brother, actually use that brain some here... THINK Yes... he has no leverage, he has 2 years left on his exisitng deal, and the Bills would tell him to play the year on his exisitng deal if he doens't like their offer. Oher plays G for 2009... If the Bills still cannot reach a deal with Peters before 2010 draft we trade him then and We already have our new LT on the roster. If Peters signs we have a stud at LG and great dpeth at the T position The Bills wouldn't be in panic mode, and Peters can hold out and hurt his stock and his asking procie, and we would have our insurance plan. Seriously get my head checked? Peters is the one who needs to get his head checked if he thinks the Bills are paying him 11.5 mil a year.
  7. But Duke can't play LT he is a G. He gives us no leverage or insurance agianst Peters. Oher on the other hand is a T who can play G and gives us leverage and insurance
  8. actually I think the Bills could draft a guy like Oher who can play in the NFL as a G, but is listed at one of the top T's. This puts pressure on Peters because we have his replacement on the roster if he decides to hold out, but if he doesn't we also have our LG. Oher would cost us a 5 year deal at about 21 million which is less then what we were paying Dockery, and it would serve us in driving Peters demands back down to reality saving us a few million on his contract too. Oher @11 gives the Bill leverage against Peters and also fills a big hole for us at LG
  9. the Bills could draft Oher at #11 as a leverage agianst Peters. Oher will play LG for us, and can also be our eventual replacement for Peters. If Peters refuses to sign the 8.5 million deal in front of him then he can play under his old contract in 2009 and he can hope to god he doesn't suffer an injury that destroys the possibility of him ever being offered 8.5 million a year with 25 million guarenteed again. If he doesn't sign we can trade him in 2010 already knowing his replacement is on the roster. If Peters signs we have an improved OL compared to 2008, solid depth at T, and a stud LG leaving us with no holes on our OL this year. The OL is too important to ignore, and since Peters is trying to play games the Bills can counter back and regain the upper hand
  10. LOL that would be my 1st choice to. Drive fast turn left and hope for a wreck... Pretty embarassing that the 2 main American forms of auto racing are done on lame ass ovals oh and weeks leading up to traning camp are worst
  11. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/04/15/...ft-trade-chart/ the above trade chart shows the value of draft picks... The Bills pick is worth 1320 points Detroits #20 = 980 Detroits #33 = 570 Philly's #21 = 925 Philly's #53 = 370 I f we trade with Detroit it would be for #20 and a swap of 2nd rd picks and maybe a 4th rd pick If we trade with Philly it would be for #21, #53, and maybe a 6th pick... that is as good as it would get
  12. everything else... which is the reason why the patriots dominate us. The game is won and lost in the trenches, and like you have already stated the Bills have the edge at WR, RB and DB's none of which are truly where the game is won and lost.
  13. let him... it will only hurt his value even more because he will have to come back and play at sometime, and when he looks like crap the league will notice and he will be even more hard pressed for a 10mil + deal the Bills will be drafting an OT if Peters in not signed by the draft, and might even trade him and then make a move on one of the 3 top OT that will probably be drafted in the top 10. Peters is worth a minimum of a 1st rd pick, and we could trade our #11 and our 2nd and move up a few spots to pick one of the OT in the top 10. Move Walker to LT and groom our new LT at RT or if were lucky our new OT will settle in at LT immediately I'd rather not, but then again I honestly do not care about Peters status as a Bill anymore..
  14. looks like Peters will be playing on that existing 2 years left contact.
  15. the Bills = the same old crap. nothing has changed and we will be lucky to win 7 games in 2009 at this point. Offseason isn't over yet, but I don't expect the Bills to make any more significant moves, and we have major holes left to fill
  16. I would be down with Brown.. He is worth the #11 pick
  17. I think trading back from #11 this year makes the absolute most sesnse. There are players out there we need, and the ones we coeth most will probably not fall to us at #11. By trading back, if possible, we can fill in more holes nad shore up depth at postions of need. The Bills need OL, DL TE and LB... all of these positions are deep in this draft
  18. realfootball is nothing more then a blogging site for aspiring NFL journalist wannabe's
  19. Most people do... a LT in the hand is better then 2 in the bush
  20. I would pay him with the average of the top 3-5 OL in the league, but that contract should include incentives that ensures he shows up to trainng camp and OTA's... it should also include bonuses for the team making the playoffs instead of the probowl... if we trade Peters there in no scenario in which we would be a better team in 2009 ...
  21. prime time games suck... Sunday afternoons only please
  22. I hate prime time footballl... Just give me sunday afternoons
  23. KC fans are true football fans and like Buffalo they don't deserve to lose their franchise either...
  24. that's what I was thinking.. .that is if there isn't another player on the board that would make an immediate impact for us
  25. it was a desperate move by a desperate team, who has a desperate coach and a legion of desperate fans, who are really desperate to get any player who could make a difference in here. Owens was a desperate player so its a perfect match. the fact is for the 1st time this offseason I'm looking forward to football in 2009, and I won't be canceling my sunday ticket like I was planning. PR move or not, TO will make Evans a better WR, and it could open up our O a bunch... Dare I say we win an AFC East game this year... but who knows maybe some small market love is exactly what TO needs...
