What's the point of this team's philosophy?
ddaryl replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
YARDS AFTER CATCH is the game. High % passes with YAC is more effective than bombs away. Josh has the arm strength but the % of receptions downfield is lower overall. Sure you throw the bombs a few times a game to keep DBs back on their heels some and hope you hit a few here and threre but I've seen more games for the Bills be lost trying to force it downfield. Keep those chains moving is always the 1st strategy Why would you want to offload Allen... you are basically saying Josh is a one trick pony who can't play the short to mid game.... that is very weird thing to even hint at -
will have to see how the team gels during preseason. Until then its all speculation. Personally I couldn't possibly make a call with any chance at accuracy till mid October
-
I do not live like that. You want to be the best you simply beat the best. I'm sure Beane explored other options but KC may have been the only option. I love Allen as our QB and I don't stew at all about that trade. Allen's not the reason we haven't gotten over the hump

The top 4 WRs were of the board. And Beane saw the remaining WRs left and strengths but also weaknesses. So Instead of reaching he is shifting the lower part of the draft upwards. Its not sexy but he is playing the cards hes been dealt. I also expect more moves and I'm thinking we end up with 4 top 100 picks, lots of lower picks to work and plenty of value on the table

1st Round Draft Poll...WWBD (what will Beane do)?

Beane always seems willing ot make a small move up for a player he covets who falls within a striking range I voted lower 20's -

I remember the year the Simpsons ran an episode during halftime... That was my favorite halftime but that was like 20 years ago -

completely agree with you. I haven't watched a superbowl in over a decade. I can not stand the over the top pageantry of the event. -

If the Bills ever move from WNY I will no longer be watching the NFL myself. If the cost to watch a full season climbs more I will start fading away. Really tired of multiple streaming services to be able to watch a full season. -
Will we be in Super Bowl contention this year?
ddaryl replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kind of like that, but making it on a last second win by another team to back in and then missing the playoffs the following year still says its a test of McDermott. I know I want to see the team succeed, and that takes good leadership when you have roster turn over. The defense has some concerns but I think we are in good shape knowing we have the draft in front of us with Allen and a solid O. Still need to see what it is like with Babich as DC, and Brady's 1st full season at OC. If things start to go wonky how does he adjust. -

It will be a test of McDermott. Great coaches do more with less -
The Bills should sign kicker Jake Bates from the UFL
ddaryl replied to LeGOATski's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think a lot of teams will show interest at the end of the UFL season -

FYI.. The NFL put a kabosh to that right after Greenbay did it. -
Epic, Hypothetical Trade Scenario: Would ya?
ddaryl replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Think about trading away our Known Commodity. Whom was not even the 1st QB drafted in 2018. There were 5 QBs taken in the 1st rd in 2018 , and 4 of those QBs in the top 10. 2 of those 5 QBs are still playing for the team that drafted them and are successful there. 2 are journeymen (1 drafted 1st overall, 1 drafted 3rd overall), and 1 was a bust. Going by mock drafts and pundits Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold were considered the top 2 picks, and Allen was a debateable reach. but to think we could trade away Allen for a boatload of picks and somehow our chances of overall sccess would guarentee us improvement is whacked. Unless you can 100% guarentee improved success there is not a GM in this league who would trade Allen -
You're so nice you quoted yourself twice!

Well the balloon needs to be purple. I don't hang on the extremes which these days is left or right Honestly I need to up that Kitkat to a Snickers. Everything else is good so I would then make this trade with those changes -

Allen would have to be old and fading for a season or 2 before I would consider trading him -
Randy Mueller - maybe only ~150 draftable players this year
ddaryl replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
and we have a plethora of 3rd day picks.... we shall see. -
I wonder if Josh had Dalton run down the fairway so he could hit him long?
-
I agree that replacing Diggs with a bona-fide #1 WR candidate MAY not be necessary. If Allen can distribute the ball we could be better for it. That all depends on a lot of things. Does the group step up as a whole Do opposing teams start to figure out Brady Injuries and depth It could take the Bills some games to figure out their rhythm, and then you've got to hope they can endure late season games and possibly playoffs knowing the good teams will make adjustments. For me it is all wait and see. Lots of questions no matter which direction we go

I like the 5th year OPTION. The key word here is option
