John Elway admits Josh Allen was his biggest regret
ddaryl replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
But there was an intelligent reason for that.. We did not want Whaley making this decision. We ended up with Allen the next year and drafted Tre White with the trade. With the growing pains McDermot has displayed I don't feel Mahommes would be a difference maker here and we got the right man for Buffalo in Allen -
Hyde doesn't seem interested in playing a full season if he plays. He says IF he plays it will be for the BIlls Sounds to me he is looking at the 2nd half of the season and the Bills injury status at that time Jackson is a vet but probably won't make the team

Allen among most accurate passers on balls of 10+ yards
ddaryl replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
That may be the case here, but I stand by statement. QBs with a sub 60% completion % 99 times out of 100 ... heck 999 times out of 1000 don't become what Allen becomes. You can see that lots of talking heads also did not see it either. yes I am thrilled that Beane and Company recognized this and stuck to there guns about Allen... in hindsight. Allen has greatly surpassed all my expectations to the point where I see him as a 1st ballot HoF candidate -
This is a huge wildcard for us. If Elam becomes what was expected when we drafted him our CB depth looks a lot tighter

I still don't think you can.. Allen is just an anomoly. 99 times out of 100 IMO a QB with a sub 60% college completion % doesn't become what Allen has become. The fact he had to write all those letters and only got 1 school to give a chance might of played into that narrative a bit as he probably didn't get the best preperation from Wyoming for becoming a pro QB. -
Pegula imploring Beane and McD to get Allen to embrace a CEO role?
ddaryl replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thats what I love about Allen. He is one of the guys and he lets his work on the field do his talking. He is also a terrific guy outside of the team, as shown in everyting he does. Find players with the mental capacity to do their jobs day in and day out without a need for someone to be in there face. -

The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
ddaryl replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
After the 1st couple of seasons I thought it was just a Vikings thing.... but obviously its ugly head reared again -
i will also assume you stayed in a Holiday Inn Express as well.

the trick is to find a group of players who have the intellectual ability to absorb the nuances of multiple spots in the offense and retain it. As well as the coaches to teach them what they don't yet know and keep them on the path to improvement, and teammates who help each other through it Hopefully it works out because it does sound like an advantage for the offense. I do forsee growing pains with all the motions and position juggling

Looking forward to a day where she can tell us what shes been through herself. -
I also don't think they wanted to pursue a high priced Alpha WR. Have multiple capable targets with a different strengths, use lots of motion to figure out the D and hit the open man. Build them up as a team and get them to enjoy the success of their teammates

He doesn;t have the experience yet to be a HC IMO. A few years as a succesful OC will change that. He may get an interview or 2, but unless he literally blows the entire league away ending in a dominating playoff run SB win I don't see him shuffling off that soon.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
ddaryl replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh Allen should be better not having a true highly paid #1 WR. He no longer has to look Diggs way to make sure he is involved and force throws to him. I see a offense where we have multiple contribuors and D's won't be able to shift to accomodate that #1 WR because someone else will be open. Only time/games played will answer this. -
The man has 4 INTs in 10 playoff games. He has 3 fumbles in the playoffs but lost none of them. Turnovers for Allen in the playoffs pretty much don't even factor here. The offense during the loss to the Cheifs in the playoffs was heavily skewed in favor of the Bills for time of possesion, I would have to look at more playoff games with Allen and look at time of possesion, but that tells me he managed the game The McD argument has some merit though.

All I know is we drafted Allen in 2018... yada yada yada, 63.2 career completion %, 22,703 passing yards, 3611 rushing yards, 167 passing TDs, 53 rushing TDs, 64 Wins and 5 consecutive playoff births in 6 seasons. i would not trade Allen for anything. Nothing to debate about it. Allen is the ultimate team guy, is an extrememly likeable human, and the reality is he can ball. Call him whatever you want, his positives greatly outweigh any negative perceptions

Is Josh Allen already the best dual-threat QB ever?
ddaryl replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen hasn't quite made it to the top of the list, but my money says when he hangs them up there won't be much debate about it. Allen will be in the lead of the conversation of best dual threat QB. Although the game has changed over the decades Josh is putting up huge numbers and if he stays the course he will obliterate others on the list. People will argue the difference in the game, and that is a legitimate debate, but Josh should always be in the top of that conversation if he continues to play the way that he has. -
That should be a viral phrase around here

What a way to look at this reality, spot on
