  1. Which is astounding and only what 26 players under contract and then only 13 under contract in 2022? It's bloody brilliant!
  2. I'm confused - is PFF (the place that said Duck Hodges is betetr than Allen and Tre White isn't a top 100 player and 15th best CB) good again?
  3. You do a good job of hitting the nail on the head here. At the end of the season presser, Beane did allude to the fact that he at times will have to press the coaching staff in regards to players and upgrades. First time listening to it (as it happened in real time LOL) was exactly what you just said. Our D exactly as it was last season was good enough to be at the SB level, the offense is no where near it and lacks to the playmakers he have on D. As much as everyone wnats the next Bruce or Mack or Von; our biggest gap is still at the offiensive skill positions. Getting Josh more help this season to score more points is not a 2nd or 3rd RD WR who will need extra time to develop. As Hapless indicated before, WRs need to make reads on our offense and make the same adjustmnets that the QB sees - are Shenault, Mims, Jefferson, Higgins, Reagor et al. going to be able to do that while polishing up their other areas that need work? Or is it going to be much easier with a Jeudy or Ruggs who know the offense or Lamb who might be the most complete overall? The answer is NOPE
  4. Murphy is signed through this year. The fun exercise is that the savings generated from LorAx no longer being here and dumping both Shaq and Murphy = what you would pay Yannick around $17M/year, which keeps the cap hit the same as (or very close to) last season. You can even go after the top UFA TEs at $10M/season and cut Smith and Kroft and make no difference to the cap. You can sign all of the upcoming UFAs on our team and we still still have a lot of room. You can sign Shaq to a long term deal to take over from Murphy next year and we still have a lot of cap room. Unless the cap becomes so tight, there is no need to dump Murphy - he is a UFA next season and will be a reliable rotation player and valuable backup if Hughes or the UFA Edge gets dinged up.
  5. I love all 3 of them and the explosive athletiscism that Ruggs brings that the others don't, puts him at #1 for me. The ability to stop on a dime, adjust, make the catch and accelerate instantly gives him that edge. Not knocking the other 2 at all because they are freaking awesome
  6. Beane has also put plenty of tea leaves out there saying they will follow their board and if elite talent drops they will go get him, especially at a position of need (might not if it isn't). Even when asked about the bust rate of WRs, if you have your board right, you go get him. RD1 is setup as top tier, mid-tier and bottom tier, try to prioritize the positions of high AAV contracts.I would love to just once be able to sit in there while they set the board up and then watch the draft unfold. When Beane talks about Edge that doesn't hit FA and there aren't enough Von Miller's to go around - that is Young and that is this draft as far as Edge goes... At the end of the day, this is going to be fluid until we make our pick (whatever number it turns out to be) and it will be based on his board value and trying to go after the guys they have a high value on
  7. For almost all of the WRs coming, how well they are able to overcome press, will dictate how good they truly do become. Ruggs speed, agility and acceleration will help with that to a degree. Who is going to play press on him when he can blow by them and even if they do, they will put safety help on top of him which will free someone else up to make a play. His ceiling is crazy high, is less developed (based on playing time) than Jeudy & Lamb. Jeudy and Lamb are more prototypical #1 WRs and if you really want to look at it, Beane and McD don't necessarily believe in a #1, they want players who can catch the ball and make plays, someone who can take it to the house. All 3 are going to be very, very good
  8. It's only 3 million this year and the rest of the contract is gone next year. It also eliminates any divide in the locker room if minshew under performs
  9. He has that effect. He has the data and solid logic behind it to back it up too
  10. I get that, but all I was saying is that you are getting the hole this year or next year and the decision on what to pay will still need to be made. IIRC his option was $10 million next season and is about what he should see on the open market. Even if he gets to $13M this year and has a equivalent or better year, he is in line for $13M with the annual bump anyways...Not sure that hurts us much at all...
  11. Meh.It is only 1 year and it's kicking the can down the road, could even be a costlier at that point. If you can upgrade, upgrade; if you can't, resign him - an extra $3M is going to kill us
  12. Doesn't matter anyways, he is going down with his opinion and apparently regardless of past performance and thoughts on his philosophies in general discussion need to be in the current year only. ?‍♂️
  13. Ah yes rely on what the media says about waiting, they are less informed on what the Bill's need than this board. It is all very fluid, but the teams above us will push the WR talent down a bit, Simmons, Young, the OTs, a CB or 2, the QBs will allow at least 1 of not 2 of the top 3 to hit pick 10 or 11. Jesus h christ, there is no point with discussing anything with you. It perfectly applies to their year or any year or frankly any position. He said when he drafted Edmund's, if top talent falls and it's a need, we will go get it. But again that was from 2018 and doesn't apply here. I'm out
  14. Our gm had also been asked about the bust rate of WRs and depth in a class, he has said that he would move up if they are in the top talent pool and he feels their board is right ?‍♂️
  15. And you have been wrong every time....give it up. You are unable to differentiate the talent level between the tiers of players, everything gunner has said is 1000000% correct. Edit: depth has nothing to do with elite talent, it provides you players at many rounds throughout the draft, many of which are 2nd and 3rd tier players. Elite talents go at the top of the draft, there is a reason why Beane has said, getting the board right is the most important thing.
