  1. This unit should be turned over. I love Milano and he is a baller, but his injuries are a huge concern to me. I would make an attempt to resign him but not break the bank. Edmunds has me concerned: https://www.nfl.com/news/bills-trade-with-ravens-to-draft-tremaine-edmunds-0ap3000000929043 Tremaine Edmunds is ranked No. 6 on NFL Newtork draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah's list of top 50 prospects. "He does anything you want," one scout told BobMcGinnFootball.com. "He can run, he can stack, he can use his arms, he's got eyes and he's a great person. A slam dunk." Jeremiah believes Edmunds offers All-Pro ability with "outrageous" upside. He not only rushes the passer, but also matches up with tight ends and scat backs in coverage. "He dissects a play and hits the destroy button" is how NFL Network analyst Steve Smith put it. https://nfldraftbible.com/scouting-report-tremaine-edmunds-olb-virginia-tech/ A freak of nature athletically, you can go years without finding a prospect with his athletic make-up. His 4.54 straight-line speed is evident on tape, as he shows to be a rangy backer with the length to chase down any play. The Hokie linebacker is very fluid for his stature, as he lined up over slot receivers and tracked runners out of the backfield, allowing him to be an every-down backer. His frame, which can likely add weight and quickness, is what makes him a very dangerous blitzer. He can shoot through gaps and even when he doesn’t make it home, he’s a tough object to throw over. Edmunds does look more natural and instinctive coming off the edge than when reading and diagnosing in the middle of the field. He can be a step slow diagnosing plays and doesn’t seem to have the natural instincts you see in most All-Pro inside linebackers. He gets fooled by play action and can be deceived by the quarterback’s eyes, which has led to some glaring miscues on the field. At times, his speed works against him as he over runs plays and takes himself out of position. He can struggle to fight through interior blockers on run plays but in a pass-heavy league teams will be willing to overlook that. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2018/04/26/tremaine-edmunds-buffalo-bills-trade-second-pick-nfl-draft-linebacker/556693002/ NFL Draft Scout analyst Rob Rang said of Edmunds, “It isn’t often that you come across traditional off-ball linebackers with Edmunds’ exciting blend of size, instincts and speed. He is still a bit rough around the edges – attacking with reckless abandon and occasionally leaving holes for savvy ball-carriers to exploit - but he possesses the upside to warrant first round consideration, projecting as a future starter and potential difference-maker.” 3 years in and I'm not sure I have seen enough. At this point I would rather pay Milano $13.5 million than Edmunds. I would see if we can make a play for and LB/Edge guy who may become a cap casualty cut if the cap does stay around $176 (I know there was a report last month saying it could rise to $200 million). If Edmunds Stays he needs to move outside and we need to find a better MLB. JMO
  2. I hate the FGs and am pissed about both of them, the more I reflect, he had zero confidence in our ability to get the ball in the end zone. I also had zero confidence that we would score. We would have turned the ball over both times on downs and he wanted to "save" the team from that....
  3. This was the best presser he has ever had IMO. You usually get a small nugget here or there, but he was as honest and open as I have ever heard him. I'm definitely making note of the "Bigger, Faster, and Stronger" part for FA and the draft. I expect both lines to get evaluated With Oliver I think he didn't say much more since he was playing out of position as a 1T and without Star, we didn't have another viable 1T. Let's face it, the entire DL was a disappointment this year. McD loves pressure with the front 4 and to have the other 7 in coverage, we could not do that this year. Hard to evaluate one player when the whole front 7 was injured and honestly was not good. I heard this on WGR on my way to work this am: If we played the Chiefs 10 times, how many times do we win? 2-3 are we ok with going to the SB only 2-3 times with Josh while Mahomes goes the next 7-8 against us in the next 10 years? Are we 1 player away? What about 2? or are we right there? If Cleveland won, we would likely be in the SB, which means we are right there. I think Beane and McD are looking for 1-2 more elite players, one on D and one on offense, gamebreakers
  4. Also, As a Walder fan, here are his Adjusted Sacks based on who beat the defender first instead of cleaning it up for the 2020 NFL season
  5. Edit: Here you go @MAJBobby Yeah you hit this out of the park. Only thing I would do different is keep Jerry. There is no need to create that hole yet and I think he can get it done with a little help from some new friends on the line. See below: I know this isn't the LB thread, but the 5th year on Edmunds is about $13.5 and Milano is going to be about $13.5, not paying these 2 guys that much money. I would possibly look for an Edge at the LB position who can play the role like LorAx did. We need our Diggs of the defense to force teams to game plan against him. We can't just sit back in zone and get carved up. McD loves and wants pressure with the front 4 as much as possible, he says it every year and this group way under performed in that regards. Oliver will look much better with Star and other 1Ts on the roster.
  6. I will read this later and missed this last night, you always do a great job here. Just hopped in to give the kudos @MAJBobby
  7. I love cohen. I think that with a devalued rb and from a cap perspective, the rb stable will be draft picks and udfas. Draft the guy and only pay the rookie contract and let him leave...
  8. I didn't say it was and I didn't say lack of preparation in the way you are referring to it. It's a combination of many things. Smoke and Davis were the 2 who were mostly hobbled but them being 100%, I don't see that changing the outcome that much. We weren't prepared for the physicality of this game, the entire team...
  9. With the TEs how much of that may be scheme allowing it? We make sure WRs don't beat us and there are many more good WRs vs TEs, is that the poison we pick? Just a thought, not married to it. I'm not convinced we keep all of our picks and Beane would swing big I think in a normal year, if the cap stays around $175 as expected, we may need the picks to fill the team out. I know there has been talk of it spiking up to $200 (which would be awesome), but I wonder if that stops Beane from swinging or how the contracts will even be structured, low first year higher second and third years or a bunch of 1 year prive its or more guaranteed... To be fair, I am not married to either of LBS
  10. I agree with your last part, but he did zip zero zilch, I would rather have had Duke awilliams on the field, but this is semantics and not why we lost. Our lines got their asses handed to them, the crowd affected us, Josh was too worried about finding the right play instead of just calling the play and running it, Spags coverage changing at the last second got in his head....
  11. I felt like when you see McD taking over the play calling, we are more aggressive. He wants pressure with the front 4, he has said that for his whole time here, every year. We didn't get that, when I say aggressive it doesn't necessarily mean blitz more, more pressure up front and tighter coverage from the dbs and lbs. Some of what we called on d this year was to help the team deal with the injuries at lb and cb, which would be more zone. It could be used to mask liabilities, which I do think Edmunds has... I have posted this in other threads, but the team has to decide which of the 2 LBS is getting the 13.5 million contract, I get Edmunds potential and he is 4 million next season, but as of today., I would rather pay Milano and find a true MLB.
  12. He said the same thing about Gabriel Davis, trainers and medical staff gave him the thumbs up and he wanted to ride with the guys who got them there. It is a little bit too much "It was his turn" for me...
  13. I'm think Beane is going big game hunting to work on getting us over the hump. We don't have enough picks to jump up in the top 10, I'm thinking we trade like last year
  14. I have been thinking about this as well and it makes a lot of sense
  15. I'm starting to come around on trying to sign Curtis Samuel if he hits UFA for the speed component and seeing if we can package our 1 and some picks for an edge freak on D. Free agency should be crazy this year with the low cap and some good people could be let go (Von Miller as an example). I would be looking for a proven vet on D, which may require a trade and loss of first rounder. Just the thoughts bouncing around in my dumb head right now...
  16. I was wrong on Phillips, he cost a ton, but when you look at what we spent overall on the DL replacements I would have been happier with him and playing Zimmer and horrible Harry a bit more. This needs to be a big focus. Feliciano was going 1 on 1 with Jones, tough assignment and he got his ass handed to him. I think he can be part of it, but I don't even see Ford having that nasty streak. We sure could use it there... Not to lump this in, but I hope Frazier ends up in Houston, get the comp picks and move to a slightly more aggressive scheme...
  17. Mcd also brought up that KC is in year 8 and we are in year 4... Huge point there. We need to identify our core and build around them with bigger faster bodies
  18. We don't have that guy on defense to rally the troops, Jordan Phillips lit a fire, I truly think his loss was felt more than any of us expected. LorAx as well. We need a nasty OL player too
  19. Jw ( I think, I was more interested in listening than jotting stuff down) asked a very good question about scheme and the bend but don't break... Sean did mention being bigger and faster... But some of the questions were terrible. I came away with the impression that Sean is highly reflective and sees a lot of the issues we saw with kc
  20. Great presser, he was as open as he could be. Bigger and faster, I'm down with that...
  21. I'm not draft read yet lol. But I agree I would slow the dl rotation down and spend on a great edge guy, whether lb or de. I would look for another good 1T dlman too. Sean alluded to on his end of season presser, bigger and faster is where we need to go....
  22. They also added to their offense in the draft adding Mecole Hardman in the second. Just like Atlanta did with Ridley when they had Julio and Sanu. We need a game breaker on offense, Curtis Samuel perhaps and a guy on D who is a freak, like the Diggs trade last year, to come in and force teams to game plan around him. We can't sit back like we have been. The front 7 needs a little tweaking. Out of 10 times passing KC, we may win 2 or 3 of them. I think we are like 2 to 3 players away, a d monster and the freaky speed guy on offense and TE and RB upgrade...
  23. Our season ended because the team was not ready for the more physical style of championship caliber football. We got blown off the ball on both lines, the wrs were too injured and the crowd noise, according to Wood affected our line, Josh changed the plays too much to match the d who would change coverage right veggie the snap. It was a multitude of issues... In some ways you could say it was over before it started, we weren't prepared enough for the rigors of this game...
