  1. You are entirely correct. While I do like Butler, I think we also have a tendency to think he was impeccable; he wasn't and life wouldn't have necessarily been great if he stayed. When you look at his drafts and compare them to TDs; really not too different overall. Butler didn't have a full rebuild like TD, but he did have a few HOFers still around and much better coaches to develop his talent and lead the team. I do wonder how life would have been different if Polian stayed though...Oh well
  2. Tim Graham was the Jets beat reporter at ESPN, he knows A Lynn....
  3. I'm not supporting Timmay, but he was covering the JETS for ESPN and knows this staff....
  4. The problem with Whaley is that he has not been given the full GM role yet (As far as being the only one to hire, manage and dismiss the HC; the direct reporting relationship is not there). Upfront he should have been given those responsibilities, but he wasn't (Russ was calling the shots, whether intentional or not he was the "owner"). Whaley has real no "power" in this organization other than being in charge of scouting (pro and college). If the Pegulas gave it to him when Marrone left, fine; but they didn't. All you can grade him on is the talent he brings in and even that is dependent on if the coaches can grow a player or not. The problem you have is that has he done enough to stay around? Will the Pegulas and Brandon (when Rex inevitably goes) all of a sudden stay out of the hiring process and let Whaley do his thing? I don't see that happening and that is a big issue....
  5. Dareus would have helped with the 4 man rush, possibly collapsing the pocket faster and rushing Fitz's throws, all of which might have helped the CBs and defense overall. Yes we are a sad state of affairs...
  6. Marcel would have helped and might have possibly done enough to help us win the game, but the structural problems would still exist....
  7. Players will take on the characteristics of the leadership they are under....That Pats* do this better than anyone else
  8. Andrew Brandt ‏@AndrewBrandt Sep 16 Bills were NFL's highest spending team in 2015 with payroll over $166 million ($50 million more than lowest spending team, Lions). #Bills
  9. The possessions after that were Bills 3 plays for 1:25, Jets possession for 5:16, and Bills for 1:38. TOP was 39 to 20 Jets at the end of the game. Offense did not keep them off the field at all, sometimes your best defense is a great offense. Control the ball, the TOP and the game.... That being said, yeah the D blew as well
  10. Not going to get good coaches next year unless Rex is gone, no way he goes into his third year with another lousy team...No one in the right mind would sign up for that; unless they think they might be able to pull an interim HC position out of it...
  11. There is nothing wrong with trading picks, you do need to be very smart about it though. Butler was the GM, cap issues belong to him as does building the team. The Bills big issue was firing Polian. As much as we all dislike TD and his coaching selections, he did somewhat put us back together....but this is not the point of this thread.... The reason we were in the playoffs those years were due to Polian and the core he assembled as GM...
  12. That's not really saying much...One might argue Donahoe had better drafts than Butler.
  13. Tim Graham ‏@ByTimGraham 4m4 minutes ago Tim Graham Retweeted Erich Roehner The point is (from the start) here come national analysts telling us what a great leader Anthony Lynn is. How so? Tim Graham Verified account ‏@ByTimGraham Tim Graham Retweeted Erich Roehner Same as the Doug Marrone phenomenon. Some media just LOVE to prop up the next great coach without explaining how.
  14. Weed is a problem... I know we all would have crushed the FO to not re-sign Dareus, especially because we spent the 3rd pick of the draft on him, but he is a selfish prick who really hurt this team and is not worth the money at this point.... BY the time Ragland plays we will have a new coach and the player won't fit the scheme. I know that doesn't matter because we will have to re-do the D again for the 50th time this century....
  15. The only one who has really left with any "power" was Littman. Pegs had a golden opportunity to blow it up his first year as owner once the Dougernaut left and he didn't. They all still remain but the added the Ryan's. Why would you expect different results now? Also why do you think the NFL tried to hook them up with consultants ASAP? While I am grateful for all Ralph did to keep the team here; it is time to move forward - burn it all down and start a new era....
  16. Shaq Lawson ‏@Shaq_Lawson90 3m3 minutes ago So ready to be back on the field with my bothers #BillsMafia
  17. I saw somewhere on twitter last night, in 2015 we led the league in 3 and outs; we also paid out more money to players (like $166 million) than any other team....
  18. If you can't tell; I am furious with him. His behavior has hurt the team more than anyone else...
  19. I hope phucking Dareus is an outcast in the locker room. What a selfish a$shole
  20. I didn't want to take away from this thread, just ranted a bit while thinking things through while I was typing a quick response, but: I really wasn't on this bandwagon, but he was the de-facto owner for a few years. If you need to change the entire culture- he really can't still be there in a diminished role. I actually think he is really good with what he does, if they can move him out of OBD and into PGE/Sabres yeah keep him. I just am not sure how he can stay at OBD though... I have a feeling that all players are frustrated with the entire staff...
