  1. so is qb.... And their offenses can sustain drives...
  2. Possibly 9 wins this year. Not too much changed from our 8 win roster last year... You are what your record says you are...
  3. and yet 7-7 and most likely out of the playoffs again.... Also 24th in 1st down percentage, 24th in 3rd down percentage, 31st is pass, 27th in total team plays, 26th in offensive plays per game, 26th in TOP, 12th most 3 and outs Interesting indeed Edit: Also 31st in Sack rate
  4. Joe Chenelly ‏@jchenelly 4h4 hours ago Rex Ryan was told at least a day, possibly days, before yesterday's #Bills game ownership feels it needs to move on at HC at end of season. Joe Freddoso ‏@joefreddoso 4h4 hours ago Thanks Joe. Are you hearing the Pegula's are frustrated with his lack of professionalism? Its more than W's and L's Joe Chenelly ‏@jchenelly 4h4 hours ago They just want to win. Jon Alhart ‏@JonAlhart 3h3 hours ago I have a hard time believing this. Makes no sense. Wouldn't they just have fired him already then? #Bills Joe Chenelly ‏@jchenelly 2h2 hours ago I don't want to speculate on why, as I don't know. Not unheard of. There are people taking sides in a divided org. Jon Alhart ‏@JonAlhart 2h2 hours ago it'll be interesting. Looks like his days are numbered. Joe Chenelly ‏@jchenelly 2h2 hours ago For what it is worth, I'd be happy to have him back another season provided there are changes among defensive coaching staff. Jon Alhart ‏@JonAlhart 2h2 hours ago Agreed. I don't agree with his overal philosophy that defense and running wins - but this roster feels like 8 win talent... Joe Chenelly ‏@jchenelly 2h2 hours ago I agree. But that points the finger @ Mr. Whaley & his staff. That isn't happening now.
  5. LOL that it does. In a weird twist of fate, Dougie can help us make the playoffs by winning their next 2 games....
  6. Pete Prisco Verified account ‏@PriscoCBS I have as much chance as Doug Marrone of being the Jaguars head coach next season Jason Cole ‏@JasonColeBR 3m3 minutes ago Odd because Marrone is high on the list of a lot of other executives around the league:
  7. Your terrible idea isn't that bad and it is the most plausible if we let TT walk. Where I get a little concerned is the cap commitment to TT and all of the contracts we have expiring. There is no way we could reasonably keep Gilmore and TT and do much with anything else. If you lose Gilmore, that is another big hole on our starting defense, in a position (that if Rex is still here) is a premium spot and that will make a weak secondary worse off than it is today - hard to believe right? I don't see how you could maintain where we are right now by keeping TT; I would expect us to overall be worse off with him. If you let TT walk, you can use the $$ on Gilmore, get Ragland back, sign a few FA WRs and use the draft for QB & Safety. I would bet since we lean so heavily on the run and the QB play has been spotty, we might be able to get a bit better overall with a different QB who is a bit cheaper. I think I did a terrible job explaining this though.... You have to move up this draft possibly to score a QB; as of now Trubisky is my choice, but he has such a small body of work...I really hope Cardale develops, but I have very slim hopes
  8. LOL it's all good man. Everyone is frustrated beyond belief... How long have we all been saying we need to get a win against a team we should lose to? That is what gets us over the top. It shouldn't even be a gimmick type win, all that will do is get you a blow out in the playoffs. At times I feel like that is the goal of this front office, sneak into the playoffs and we can sell more hope and all of us can keep the wheels spinning. At some point though you need to reflect back and say, maybe we should try something different. Whaley has been ok; he has excelled in pro-personnel and is meh when it comes to the draft. Like everything a GM, a player, a coach it is a crap shoot. Everyone knows you need a QB to win in this league, we just don't keep adding to the talent at that position with any sense of direction or regularity; we try to fill holes. As frustrating as it is for us fans debating this team, you have to feel for the media whose job it is to cover and come up with new insights. I am sure they know and have heard many more stories than they reported on, it has to wear them down a bit. The whole Berchtold story of him taking Tim Graham into a break room into an airport to air grievances with Marrone - it's all freaking nuts... It has to be awful...it's awful as a fan. If it was my job as well...ugh
  9. Not enough balls to go around for Thurman...
  10. I'm kinda more of an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, career ending neck injury for career ending neck injury type person...
  11. I wasn't standing up for Rex btw. just saying that both areas have their faults. Regardless of the game plan, the players on defense were in position to get Bell; they didn't tackle him - at all really. How about the fast paced walk in the end zone when we just stood there and watched? No one should be amazed that a team could run on us. I can't remember the last time we were known as a stout run defense... My premise is you either stay the course with Rex for another year or 2 or you blow the whole damn thing up with the Front Office. Much like the fact that we have troubles on both sides of the ball, the coaching isn't great and neither is the front office... Especially in a snowy game
  12. The win meaningless games so you can "feel" good, but miss out on Cam Newton routine.... He most certainly should have cleaned house; he has a chance now and he best do it. Otherwise we will be here in 2 more years when the Front Office runs out of chances...
  13. Wood should be an OG and we can play Groy or Legursky (A joke) at center Dear god no...he is not
  14. True as well... There are failings on both sides of the ball...The D not getting off the field is one thing and the offense going 3 and out repeatedly or missing/not throwing to wide open WRs does not help either and further exposes a D that is getting their as$e$ handed to them... What about the half-hearted effort against the Steelers last week? We weren't even trying to tackle...How much is that on the players?
  15. This is incorrect if you fully look back at all of the details. There was no way that 2014 Defense was going to last into this season; it didn't even last into 2015. One of the main players in 2014 hit the wall so hard he can't even start for Miami this year. Also yeah Rex did try to use elements of it last season, didn't matter what you did when Brady for instance got rid of the ball in 1.5 seconds. Additionally, if you look at yards per game this season given up on defense, (IIRC from another thread), Schwartz and Rex's Defenses are nearly identical. Philly has a decent DL as well.... Besides this is the exact same thing as saying if we had the '91 K-Gun offense with Wade's '99 defense we would win the superbowl...which we most likely would have
  16. Refer to the Chargers and Colts as well...Possibly even the Packers
  17. IIRC he also has about 3+ seconds to get rid of the ball, which is close to, if not tops, in the league...
  18. Jay Skurski ‏@JaySkurski 3h3 hours ago we've asked multiple times to speak with Whaley on issues pertaining to the team and been denied. matthew ‏@mattymelts 3h3 hours ago got that, but why is that a mistake, doesn't impact results on the field Jay Skurski ‏@JaySkurski 3h3 hours ago the mistake is keeping him in a job he's failing at. Not related to the interview denials
  19. I shouldn't have said win and in, but beating the Raiders allowed us to control our own destiny IIRC... Mistake or not, what is done is done....
