  1. Provided the QB actually throws the ball of course...
  2. I don't think we do either, but I could see us trying to create mismatches and exploit it with Howard (big target open even when covered) and Sammy. If we can pull off a capable WR2 in FA/2nd round could be pretty damn nice.... Plus I am trying to think a little outside the box as opposed to Davis/Williams
  3. Personally I would love Adams or Hooker, but both will be gone. I'm saying OJ Howard is ours @ 10. 2nd pick will be QB or Zay Jones
  4. +1 The difference was $2 million a season; not insurmountable and I assume we will give that $2 million to someone we won't get a good ROI on (See Charles Clay, Chris Williams, etc.). YOu could easily just give him Mills salary as well; it was like he wasn't even out there as an RT anyways....
  5. We offered him what $12 million, we could have afforded the other $2 million; especially since we will have plenty of cap space next year and even more holes to fill. We aren't the team that can afford to allow our "good" younger players to walk or trade our vets right before they decline. I like what we did with Clements, we let him walk at the right time. We screwed the pooch with Antoine Winfield & Pat Williams. We let a good first round player leave for nothing...
  6. Well said! and this is why we will be going on 20-25 years with this team being a joke. We make awful decisions that are focused on the short term; let our #1 young CB go so we can replace him in the draft with the few picks we have and never really use the picks to improve...
  7. and other holes to fill on the roster and other upgrades to make on the roster. This is one more reason why we are stuck in mediocrity; we let our better players walk and have to replace them with picks instead of improving positions and drafting players to push them. I know that changing coaches and changing schemes really drive this, but between him and TT - Gilmore should win hands down...
  8. LOL like we have a QB who can accurately throw a ball that isn't a 50-yard bomb and can use the center of the field. Out routes, dumps offs and bombs is all we have...we might as well just run the 'Veer' next season
  9. Can't really argue with any of this, the cap hit this season with TT was a no go for me and I wanted to get close to $7 million - this is close enough and doesn't screw with the team chemistry too much. TT isn't the answer and we need to draft QB and hope he develops... TT is still not good enough and frankly never will be...
  10. What does successful next season mean to you?

  13. Well this is certainly off the radar.... Bucky Brooks‏Verified account @BuckyBrooks 1m 1 minutes ago Bucky Brooks Bills meeting with unlikely QB candidate. Everyone knows that he played through an injury in '16 but the low numbers vs top comp raises eyebrows http://tinyurl.com/gqy5gng
  14. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2017-nfl-free-agency-browns-primed-to-land-tyrod-taylor-bears-eye-glennon/ "The Bills do not plan to retain Taylor at his current contract , according to sources, as they continue to meet with agents for free agent quarterbacks and explore other options. And while the Bills have proposals at a lesser salary on the table, no one I’ve talked to here at the combine -- general manager, cap guy or agent -- can figure any reason why Taylor should accept anything from the Bills at this point. Especially with him being coveted as a free agent. League sources said the Browns have significant interest in Taylor as a free agent. Taylor has strong ties to some on the Browns staff already and if/when he hits the open market I would be shocked if the Browns don’t make a real push for him. Many in the league believe that’s where he will end up -- he’s young and athletic and protects the football and has upside. That would allow the Browns to take the two best players available with their two first-round picks -- beginning with Myles Garrett first overall. The Browns also continue to try to push to retain pending free agent receiver Terrelle Pryor to have some weapons for the new QB."

  16. Oh I hope he does! The scenarios that occur when you retain a HC and dump the GM always raise the concerns that they will want to chose their own HC and they usually do. I think everyone knows/feels that Doug is on thin ice; when Doug is eventually canned now you are limiting yourself to GM who will want to have McD as his HC as opposed to a GM who can hire who wants.I am inclined to say that isn't necessarily a good thing since you are limiting your pool of candidates...
