  1. Makes no difference without a QB... Pegs should have cleaned the trash out when Marrone left, should have done it with Rex and will now do it in 2-3 years when we are still in the same place. Don't get me started if we fire Whaley after the draft - how Billsy would that be?
  2. Not sure this was in here, but: Jason Cole‏Verified account @JasonColeBR Apr 23 For those #Bills fans who were wondering, I've heard they have checked on both moving up and down from No. 10. Due diligence
  3. It really feels like the spinning the wheels number of folks on this board and in general are growing year by year. We just plug the holes from our FA loses and never improve the critical positions. We are so short-term oriented and have zero long-term planning. It's just shameful and I am really hoping for something out of character for us this draft....
  4. I would wager that we are already done...Shady getting hurt only moves us closer to #1 from #s7-12
  5. Because our offense is run run run and an occasional huge bomb (which TT is awesome at, but they again so was JP)....All day long I would be playing coverage to force the WRs running the deep routes to the outside and play 8 in the box. TT is not often going to hit a play in the middle accurately consistently. I know many people like to run away from his inaccuracy, but his ball placement stinks. I also would wager there is a reason why some of our WRs get hurt, bad ball placement leads to hits that leave you exposed... By the time our pick in RD2 comes around I am going to guess that Mahomes, Trubisky and Watson are all gone. Most likely Kizer will be gone; not sure about Bye Felicia, it depends if he is BP QB left at the start of RD2. We will find out Thursday how the teams are grading these QBs. I do put some faith in Gil Brandt who says you have 4 who have potential in this league. There are the QB needy teams and the teams who have the aging franchise guy. QB needy teams either have to draft these guys or if not, the teams in the later first will scoop them up. Davis, Howard, Williams, Foster, Hooket, Adams et al. will barely make dent in our overall record the way a potential Franchise QB will.... Note: I am not saying draft a guy who our scouts think will suck. Another poster said it here, if you feel the guy has the potential to be a franchise QB, don't be a fool and pass on him. There is a nuance to this..
  6. Look at all of our moves since TD - fill holes and put butts in seats. I hated TD, but at least he had a vision from a GM perspective and attempted to build a team; this is just rinse and repeat with the same crap results...
  7. Yeah that down from 4 pts or more stat is total BS and doesn't tell a better picture than YPC, YPA, YAC, Total QBR, pro-bowls etc..
  8. We aren't a contender this year, just like we haven't been a contender the last 20 years and won't be for the next 3 at least. There is a big difference between selling hope (that isn't going to happen) or having a vision to actually build a contender and executing it. This franchise sells hope and that is it....
  9. This is what happens when you draft to fill holes and not have an overall vision for a team. You have to be able to both pass and run the ball to win and both need to be sustainable over the course of the game, so when the D takes one away, you can keep the chains moving; that's what wins football games. TT has a deep ball and we can run the ball and that it is it. If the D can play deep zone and stop the run; you shut our offense down and the 3 and outs will commence. If the team identifies a QB prospect in the draft, you make damn sure you get him. It is too important to wait for the best value and miss out on him. Also that WR, CB, TE, LB, OT, S drafted in round 1 will barely make a difference in your overall record or your team.
  10. Once the ground game is taken away from us (defensively or by Shady getting older); and it will be - then what? When we are down, we don't have a passing attack to bring us back. It is a passing league now. I cannot understand the mentality of not drafting QBs or waiting until later rounds and hope someone will develop. I understand that some say if you miss it will set the franchise back x-number years; however, the franchise is already set back x-number of years because you don't have one and you don't draft them enough. This is a position that we don't address. If we drafted QBs every couple of years and they all missed; at least it isn't for the lack of trying and guess what - our overall record in that time period is not going to be that much different. I know there are some that are worried we would become the Chargers. I would kill for Philip Rivers - they have a QB and wasted him because they can't draft other positions well and it is a shame since you can more easily find positions other than a franchise QB throughout all rounds of the draft....
  11. If they feel their is a franchise guy there, they need to take him. I just don't think we know how to decide who is a franchise guy and who isn't. We are more focused on trying to fill holes to maintain the status quo, instead of building a team to compete longer term. We just lack a vision as to how to build a team...I'm not holding my breathe for a QB before RD3
  12. One team has 35 CBs on their board; also that they expect 4th and 5th rounders to start. It was on a Breer article on MMQB. With McD looking for zone coverage corners; I would expect we will be one of those teams with mid round CBs starting for us. I would be very surprised to see a rd 1 CB
  13. Someone is all in on TT. It's a passing league...
  14. There is no speculation of his inaccuracy. Games are littered with his bad passes
  15. We really need a QB, but we shouldn't reach for one. Howard would be outstanding for us at #10 though...
  16. POsted this in the Sal M thread, but: From Albert Breer at MMQB: 4. I know one team that has 35 corners with draftable grades. That is an insane number—this particular team has 15-20 draftable CBs in an average year. One secondary coach told me he thinks some fourth- and fifth-rounders will start for NFL teams in the fall. 5. A lot has been made over QB Mitchell Trubisky only starting 13 games at North Carolina. One explanation his coaches have given to NFL teams scouting Trubisky: 2014-15 starter Marquise Williams hails from fertile recruiting ground, so benching him would have consequences. 6. I’d bet Trubisky, Deshaun Watson and Pat Mahomes are the three quarterbacks to go in the first round. What’s weird: There’s more consensus that Watson can play, but seemingly fewer teams that have fallen for him than for the other two. 7. As for when they start coming off the board, it appears the belief out there continues to be that Buffalo at 10 is the team that you have to leapfrog if you want to trade up for a quarterback. http://mmqb.si.com/m...impact-notebook

  18. we have a ton of holes, new coach, same gm, aging vets, yadda yadda yadda. It's hard to feel optimistic that we are on an upswing, feels more like a last shot for a year or 2 before a larger rebuild..again
  19. No QB, no nothing in today's NFL. What is most likely going to happen is that we will patch the team up enough to push the playoffs, still miss out on a QB and be in an even worse place in 3 years... At least they tried which we have only tried with JP and EJ...not good enough. I could live with us missing out on QBs if we at least draft them and take a shot. I'm thrilled with WRs, CBs, S, LBs, etc with our first rounders...
  20. I'll be careful to note, that this doesn't mean be wreck-less. If you believe the guy is it; you get him.
