  1. I'm not sure they want to deal with the backlash from a crappy uninspiring hire
  2. You suggested it in 3 posts on the previous page "To be honest I wouldn't mind changing schemes a bit." "I think it would be good for him to learn other offenses." "Don't know that the Bills should be as concerned with keeping the scheme over finding a top OC replacement."
  3. Do you even understand what a scheme change entails? A top OC replacement is someone who can build a scheme around their players and doesn't try to fit a scheme on players who are not a fit for their scheme. We have one of the top scoring offenses in the NFL, we have a scheme that had players drafted, traded for, signed and developed under it - why would you change that? To get a top OC guy? at what cost to the roster and knowledge you have in a system that is one of the top scoring offenses in the league? FWIW Bellicheck has the same coaching record as Rex Ryan without Brady... He can still learn under Daboll, here he is the HC off the offense.
  4. we are a super bowl team, we are not changing schemes now on offense which is one of the best offense in the league
  5. Find it hard to believe they would change the offense scheme, which honestly does not make sense I don't see Josh playing in a contained timed offense, sorry I don't. That is not his style or a scheme he is suited for IMO

  7. The guys at cover 1 were blowing up my Twitter feed this am with Donte Jackson from Carolina who played with Tre at LSU, would be an ideal fit
  8. I know we have a coordinator plan, so I'm skipping over that. Beane and McD have had a plan for a year now so I'm not focusing on that as a priority. How do we getbthe 1 seed and win the whole thing is my focus, so on to the team: 1.) OL - we have to keep Allen upright and protected. While the starters at the end of the season were good, we can be better. Building a wall in front of Josh needs to be a main focus. I would keep Bates and have him compete for a starting job. But I would look at bringing in Norwell. I would let Feliciano go, resource Williams from an RT salary to a RG salary close to what his market level would be. 2.) CB2 - DL should be here but, Tre will be 9 months from surgery in August and it is a big concern. I like Levi, but I don't think we will break the bank for him and Dane is good, but it's not enough. I think we spend a but more on CB2 and make a run in FA, Donte Jackson (White's old partner at LSU) from Carolina is a perfect fit. 3.) DL - would be second if not for Tre. We have like 5 guys under contract, you can't rely on the young guys taking another step yet alone and while Hughes and Mario played well and got pressure, they were a step to slow, due to age, to get the sack. We will have to bring a couple vets in here and resign Harry. I know this won't happen, but I'm not a fan of the DL rotation. I understand the theory behind it, but the results are meh... 4.) WR - Need to get the slot replacement on the team and we need speed and ability. This will be a draft pick and then has a year or 2 to learn, so expect a decent FA to come in to keep us loaded up at 4 wide. Davis will be WR2 slot guy and wr 4 are large holes and we need to spread the ball around...no scrubs please 5.) Punter - I don't need to explain this. Could make an argument for TE2 here as well, but our punter is even worse than our TE backups...
  9. Only HC this doesn't happen to is in NE and maybe the second one is in Balt. I feel like McD will correct this, he seems like that kind of coach. Even though this is now his 5th year, he still has some work to do
  10. He is an xfactor on my madden team... With my stud QB Buck Fugger
  11. Cover 1 is blowing my twitter up on this CB right now, Donte Jackson
  12. This is very well said. Edmunds plays as a 3rd safety in our defense, when he rushes he cannot get off blocks and is pushed out of the play. Some of it is recency bias as well, we were a bit more "agressive" with LorAx and I would have to go back and look, but the biggest thing was, he got home with the pressure. Right now our young guys aren't there yet to finish and the vets may have lost enough step that they can't finish anymore. It's that awkward in-between phase with the DL. I still don't see the young guys taking a big enough step next year where I would try to get a pass rushing edge in FA who can get home to bridge this gap a bit...
  13. Upfront and starting out, I entirely agree with bringing in guys you know. The AB "trade" was them feeling the locker room was strong enough to be able to handle a "star" like that. If all things are equal with the players and it comes down to one you know and one you don't, I get it. I also believe that if we swing at a great IOL FA Norwell has the leg up over Scherff (although the Rivera connection is there). I also mention this since we swung the Diggs trade to get an established WR for the offense. Hunter could be available, or dare I even look at NO who is $70m above the cap or GB who may lose Z. Smith is they keep Adams. There can be some deals to be had on any of the 9 teams getting a new HC and/or GM and the severely cap strapped teams. I know this is preaching to the choir, but the difference now and back in his Philly days can also now be viewed as a young DC who didn't command respect from his players due to being so green and young, that's not necessarily true now. This entirely could be burnt into his psyche, but the passage of years and his experience does change that... Beane seemingly hinted at the FA route for CB, you have to guard against Tre's return as well. What I find interesting is that they seem to be willing to let Levi walk and he is likely to get overpaid, but yet we are still filling CB2. Makes me wonder what they think of him as a player if they are willing to change him out. It just feels like if that is the case, you might as well spend a bit more to grab someone who you feel is better. Norwell makes a lot of sense and I still think we draft one or 2
  14. Beane basically said they plan on looking outside at CB, go right down the teams with a bad cap situation for trade targets and scour the UFA list. I think we spend some of the 23% total cap percentage on dl this past season to cbs this year. In the salary cap Era, you either have a great front 4 (or 7) or you have a great backfield, you rarely see teams with both. For us, we are the great backfield team. IOL is a big area to improve on, I could see a move on Norwell, to further solidify the line. That move depends on the feelings regarding Bates as a full time starter and if they try to get some money back from Williams. Thankfully Bates is an RFA, but we need to keep an eye on the center position as well. I think Spencer Brown will continue to get better. As far as WR goes, I haven't looked to the draft or players yet, but now would be the time to get the speedy slot replacement on board and learning the route trees, reading the d and changing their routes based on what they see and reading it the same as Josh. Need that replacement here learning asap
  15. Could you imagine the work that would have to be done to overhaul the defense into an attacking aggressive style some on here want? You would waste 2 to 3 seasons. The defense is good enough with a couple tweaks. I'd load up more on offense in order to never have to worry about punting lol
  16. This is why we will likely go the UFA or trade route for the DL, I don't see us spending an early pick on DL and have to wait for more development. A splashy move via trade would be great imo and is possible if someone shakes free and the value is there as far as compensation. This is unlikely right now though...
  17. Maybe he can hire dougie
  18. Last 3 game score is 100 to 98. We are close. You need depth for the injury bug, last year we were dinged up this past season not as bad. There has to be enough to keep you afloat, but you lose that luxury when you have good and great players to pay. I'm on the record of not being in love with the DL rotation, it's a waste of money and cap space imo...
  19. I would be calling for his head if there were lane issue and those issue piled on top of everything, but I just don't see that. It's the same as calling for Frazier's or McD's head right now imo. We played a great team and if we play that game 10 times it might easily end up 5 and 5. If we had the ball first, we would have won and this would be a big deal like it is now. These teams are that close now... I'm not in a blame appropriating mode either. It's find out what broke down and fix that process and it is also how do we take a step forward to close the gap talent wise a bit more, as well as stay ahead of the other teams behind us.
  20. Their depth will take a hit, but that is about it. They have a window and they will keep it open as long as possible
