  1. That's what I was basically saying to Kirby. No one is going to give up that player. If the Browns took Trubisky and Darnold/Rosen hava a grade close to Luck/Manning - no way they could pass that up. They'd have to flip Mitch... You either have to be unbelievably lucky or make a move
  2. It was a good way to speed up the rebuild process; I would have dreaded with the thought of 0-16, but hell we wouldn't be the first anymore. Of course the downside is; there is no way you can pay all of these players if they all turn out really good; but you can still make more trades as they get near the end of their rookie contracts and you really hedge against busts...
  3. I have taken some flack for this, but I love what Cleveland has done (provided the FO & scouts can hold up their end of the bargain and Haslam keeps his hands off). This is a ton of talent in this draft for them...
  4. Funny that Pegs didn't follow that philosophy in regards to GMTM
  5. Never; just go find a backup in Baltimore or Jacksonville, the CFL, Tampa Bay or Cincinnati
  6. The difference between TT and a journeyman will have a very small if any effect on our record...
  7. yup! The Habit is really good too
  8. Josh Norris‏Verified account @JoshNorris 3m3 minutes ago I'm backing off QB in the top 9, barring a trade up.
  9. Tim Graham‏Verified account @ByTimGraham On eve of NFL draft, the Bills' front office is in disarray. Have heard they are reaching out to Green Bay http://tinyurl.com/gqy5gng

  11. John Wawrow‏Verified account @john_wawrow 30s31 seconds ago Last thing before I get to writing on something non-NFL-draft-related. Hearing it's unlikely #Bills will target QB with first pick.

  13. Steve Wyche‏Verified account @wyche89 12m12 minutes ago Source: 49ers interested in Trubisky. Is No. 2 too rich? Maybe but they want a franchise QB. Also going through potential trade scenarios. 5 replies 26 retweets 18 likes Michael Silver‏Verified account @MikeSilver 58s59 seconds ago I can now update my report: The Browns have spoken with at least 5 teams with picks in the top 8 about possibility of moving up from 12
  14. All this does is remind me of Butler's last hurrah here. If Whaley does get dumped after the draft, does this mean that a combination of McD/Pegs/Russ/whoever else is left all called the shots? Not being a turd, I really didn't expect the FO to get the 'heave ho' right now....
  15. Scouts always move after the Draft, GMs not so much. well said!
  16. In Buffalo, there’s a belief that the Bills will be making extensive moves in the front office when the draft concludes. Per a league source, the team’s scouts are bracing for job changes after the draft. As one scout explained it, “We are all getting fired next week.” In response to that claim, the Bills provided to PFT the following statement: “Right now, our focus is on the preparation for this week’s draft. Like every year, evaluations of our player personnel staff take place following the draft. And this year will be no different.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/04/26/bills-scouts-bracing-for-a-post-draft-house-cleaning/
  17. I entirely agree on this. My point all along has been we need a QB and if we believe he (whoever that is) could be a franchise guy we have to take him. We can't afford to wait or hope for better then next year. Next year's guys always look good (I know Darnold/Rosen - speaking more generally they grass is always greener)
  18. I apologize as I did a bad job in asking my question. Do you think if QB needy teams next year hold #'s 1&2; they would trade out of that spot?
  19. Oh jw John Wawrow‏Verified account @john_wawrow 13m13 minutes ago Apparently, espn's broadcast content will now feature: 6 hours of Rex Ryan wearing a Clemson helmet. 6 hours of stephen a smith yelling.
  20. The Rooneys have been involved with football for generations. I think it is certainly fine for Pegula to do this, since he is very green and it gives him an opportunity to learn more about that side of the business and learn about scouting and grading players. The only caveat is, is that he shouldn't be making calls during the draft to take x player over what the football people recommend. I do agree he should be shutting down the Mixon type players....
