I doubt that was the case (not you personally), at any point in the offseason he could have been dealt for a 2nd rounder. I find it to be more plausible that there was another reason we declined his option and we were hoping it would serve as a wake up call - it didn't. IMO to blame it on $$$ when we have the space next year, an owner who is not RW and has plenty of $$$$ to spread around isn't enough to justify selling so low. It wasn't like when we dumped Lynch for a 4th because he ran some chick over and stole $20... Darby I can buy (see Josh Norman); Sammy - more to it than meets the eyes

When I said cancer in the locker room; not seeing eye to eye with the coaches was implied there. If they didn't want to pay him; they should have traded him before the 5th year option was declined. Or they could have simply exercised and dealt him...

Hey - that's about all there is. Cost shouldn't be a factor we have lots of $$ coming off the books and we can afford a WR...

Better hope we can trade up with a team who doesn't need a QB that for some reason sucked this year. No team that needs a franchise guy will trade with you if any of these QBs are good...

And at this point - just blow it up now Browns style. Why keep the older guys? It's not worth going 7-9 or 6-10 and just missing shots at the blue chippers.

Kirby's post had it the best, you really have to be worse than those other teams to get your QB. If QBs are there and those teams need them, there is nothing we can offer to move up - that is my concern honestly...

I heard this while I was in a meeting at work and almost fell out of my chair. While I can get behind the Darby deal; the Watkins deal reeks of us wanting to move on for either injury concern or maturity issues. I was all for us doing a mini rebuild, but I would expect for Wood, TT, Hughes, Kyle, Richie and Shady to be moved; not the young guys you can build around. You are spot on with this comment...
