  1. So that should just about sink him as a prospect then- right? LOL (Joke) Not that I subscribe to everything he says, but I do tend to agree with this and I just cannot get my self comfortable with him as a prospect: Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe Jan 23 Lot of people getting all hot and bothered over Josh Allen at Sr Bowl. I’ll say one thing.... remember Kyle Boller.... Allen is the reincarnation of Boller. All hype... no production Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe The Josh Allen lovers can love but fact is no QB in last 12-14 years with completion % as low as Allen has had success in NFL. Most end up as very average backups or outright busts. Can’t argue w/facts Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe The feeling of many of my NFL friends on Josh Allen...”stay in school, not worth more than a mid round pick at this time” Also: Strong Points – Size, arm strength, overall athleticism and speed. Can make plays with his feet. Flashes top skills. Streak thrower who can make all the required throws when he is on his game. Weak Points – Very overrated by media. Plays poorly when up against better competition (Nebraska – ’16, Iowa – ’17). Doesn’t handle or react to pressure well. Poor accuracy, has completed only 56% of his throws over the last two seasons in a weak defensive league. Ball placement is very average. Lacks instincts. Not a quick processor and can be slow to go through a progression. Production fell off in 2017 when he only threw 13 TD passes. Missed last two games of the year with a shoulder injury. Summation – Junior College transfer. Played one year at the JC level before transferring to Wyoming following the 2015 season. Has been a starter at Wyoming the last two years. Many Draft analysts had him as the top QB in the 2018 class going into the 2017 college season, which was way off. Has ideal size, arm strength and athleticism but it ends there. Will flash the ability to make the big throw but can’t do it with any consistency. Fact remains, there has never been a QB in recent memory with such a low completion percentage who has ever had success in the NFL. Will probably get drafted high because of his physical traits but the people who draft him are risking their careers. Is similar to other high hype QB’s during the Draft season that didn’t pan out. Some of those include Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert and Kyle Boller. https://www.buffalosportspage.com/greg-gabriels-scouting-reports-josh-allen-luke-falk/
  2. I wasn't being a jerk btw; I was just curious if there was something I was missing Allen just scares the hell out of me as a prospect, his accuracy concerns me a lot...
  3. I'm in the same boat. He just strikes me as boom or bust and it is a lot closer to the bust side...His accuracy scares me off
  4. Only way TT is a stop gap is if you draft a QB with the same skill set as his. The offense has to be taylored to him and his play style and that is what limits him as a stop gap imo...
  5. I really want us to make a move and get a rookie QB. I was ok if we sucked this year and had an opportunity to pick higher (For BPA with our holes, pass rushing or QB would be ideal, but by far BPA) and I am also a fan of trading up for a guy, the caveat has always been and will always be - you have to do your homework and know for a fact that this is your guy; and believe it strongly enough to place your job on the line for it. It cannot be a panic move... Rosen is one I would go and get, Darnold I am okay with and Mayfield as well. Outside of them, I wouldn't give up a ton to grab Lamar or Rudolph (very iffy on him) & I would run away from Allen too busty for me...
  6. I didn't know Glenn's contract was this big of a mess: Can't really wait to the draft to deal him: 1) Trade or release Cordy Glenn ahead of March 16- This date is so incredibly important for the Bills to make a decision, based on how terrible Cordy Glenn’s contract in 2018 is for the organization. Glenn, who the Doug Whaley regime committed to for the long-term, allowed a substantial deadline day for Glenn’s contract in 2018. Here’s why March 16 is so important: According to his contract numbers (per Spotrac.com) in order for the Bills to part ways with Glenn — whether it be via trade or by releasing him outright, they would be on the hook for $11.1 million to their salary cap in dead money — which is bad enough as it is. On March 16, an additional $6.5 million of Cordy Glenn’s base salary guarantees, and if he’s still on the Bills roster when that hits, that automatically gets tied to their cap, even if they trade him. So on that day, to get him off the roster, it would cost them $17.6 million against their cap. And if they waited until after March 18, when a $2 million roster bonus is due, it would cost the Bills $19.6 million against their cap to part ways with Cordy Glenn. Now, they could ride it out in 2018 with Cordy Glenn on the roster with a $14.45 million cap hit, and a much more tolerable exit strategy in 2019. However, that would be a tough pill to swallow for what is now an injury risk, and with the potential to save at least over $3 million (possibly more if they designate it a post-June 1 exemption) on this year’s salary cap. So you see, if the Bills want to get resources for Cordy Glenn, it’s going to need to be before the start of the new league year. https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/2017-buffalo-bills-all-22-in-review-offensive-tackles?page=2
  7. McBeane basically agrees with what you said: "HOWEVER, I don't want them wasting all of this years draft capital on drafting a QB IF THEY ARENT sold that he is the guy." I also will go out on a limb here and say that most other posters just don't want to go get a QB to just get one... "I know many want a QB at all costs in this draft, but there has to be a guy there worth taking" I'm pretty sure no one wants to trade up for EJ or Geno...
  8. Obviously: “The good thing is we have a lot of draft capital and we can stay there and pick, we can move up, we can move back, we can do a lot of different things. It’s so early in the process. I mean, we’ve seen these college guys on the field, but we’ve yet to meet any of them and to know who they are,” Beane said. “You rank these guys [from] what you see on the film, but until you know them and know how they know the game and all of that, talking about the quarterback position, there’s so many layers of what it takes to play quarterback in this league – and we’ve talked about them – that we’re still a long way to go. It’s too early for me to answer what we would do, whether we’d do it or not, but yes, we will go where we need to go to get the right players.”
  9. It's not a rebuild, but this is a tear down like after the '99 season. We have decent cap space this year and a helluva lot projected for next offseason. “We’re in better position than they were a year before,” said Beane last week. “But we’re not out of the woods. We’re still working on it. We’re still massaging it. With some of the moves we made, we still have to eat some dead money. But it’s heading the right direction. 2018 was better than 2017. I foresee 2019 being a little rosier than 2018.” the Bills will carry $18.72 million in dead money into the upcoming league year, the highest figure among the 32 NFL franchises. This offseason, more daunting decisions face Beane and the rest of the Bills’ brass when it comes to figuring out the salary cap situation. Left tackle Cordy Glenn and his $14.45 million salary cap hit for 2018 could potentially be viewed as an expendable contract thanks to the solid rookie season put forth by Dion Dawkins. At the quarterback position, much-maligned signal caller Tyrod Taylor could be released before March 17 (the third day of the league year) in a move that would save the Bills over $9 million. If the team cuts Taylor and doesn’t spend that amount (or more) of money on a viable veteran quarterback (think Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith), the team will have some flexibility to spend in free agency. I think it is apparent that we will address a QB this offseason and my guess will be through the draft with a few more of the expensive players leaving. TT & Glenn I think are obvious, I could see us moving on from Lorax & even Hughes, but it depends on how fast they want to tear down the next section of the team and I would expect picks in next year's draft for them. A few tweets from Greg G this am: Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe 2h2 hours ago Said it last week and all repeat now. I doubt Dorsey takes a QB at 1. He’ll take the best FB player on Browns board then come back and take a QB at 4 ( if he doesn’t sign one in FA). That’s smart drafting Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe 2h2 hours ago There is no way a QB in this draft is going to be the #1 player on any teams board. You get better by selecting the best players Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe 1h1 hour ago Chubb and Fitzpatrick are easily better than any QB in this draft. Can come up with many others also Peter King‏Verified account @SI_PeterKing 37m37 minutes ago Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe 39m39 minutes ago I get that editors want them but a mock draft before the Combine and the first wave of free agency is a total exercise in futility and waste of important time
  10. Next year's QBs always look better
  11. Honestly, they all suck. It's like picking out the cream of the crap....
  12. I chose to ignore that because that is beyond terrible. Since it was, jesus, 15 years ago, I went back to youtube to watch a few highlights - it seemed like a lifetime ago... The OL was awful and yes he was a statue, but could still sling the ball better than TT...
  13. That is more of an indictment of the OL with a statue for a QB... In 03 our OL was 79 Ruben Brown G 75 Jonas Jennings T 64 Ben Sobieski T 74 Marques Sullivan G 70 Trey Teague C 68 Mike Williams T With Jennings playing 11 games and Ruben Brown being sent home for the last game; that is a brutal bunch Edit: Also if I need a QB to make a play with the game on the line, it sure as hell isn't Tyrod who is what 2 and whatever when being down by 4+ points or whatever it was... Best QB is the questions, not necessarily best Offense or most points scored by an offense
  14. You by far have the best positional ranking per round method on this board...
  15. I won't believe this until SaviorPeterman tells us about his sources from deep within
