They had no choice with the guarantee on his salary next season and they did a good job at getting his cap hit down to $10 million. Personally I am glad he isn't our problem... You are correct, they didn't have a ton of options with regards to where they are now - still doesn't change the fact that he honestly is a not that good of a QB....

They are going to have a ton of young players come due right around the same time, plus will have a new Donald contract on the books....It will be interesting to see if we finally have reached the point in the NFL where you will start to see some players getting moved in the final year of their contract for picks...

It has been said throughout the media as well and not just on here is that you run a limited playbook with TT, for a rook who will be on the bench and learning I would prefer not to have to run and practice with a limited playbook... Also I would rather have a QB who can make reads to be able to help groom the rook - Fitz, McCown are those guys, TT isn't As a person I love TT, he is a class act and a backup. He is also not the right person to help a rookie imo

This is certainly true. To trade a talented player like this, tells you that there had to be so many issues that they decided they were better off without him... Chiefs know they plateaued and are making changes to reshape their roster...I'm curious to see what they get for picks out of this, if it is this year or next year or a combo...
