  1. I mostly agree, I think 2019 for being a contender is a bit optimistic and depends on what is given up (if we move up for a QB) and how well FA next offseason goes in reshaping the rest of the roster. I am thinking 2019 will be a much better year, but the foot on the gas will come 2020...
  2. jesus christ... First off the only jersey's I have are Andre Reed (bought at the AFC Championship game vs KC) & Bruce Smith (During a Game in 1995)... Secondly - yes because you can win with middling QBs like we have the last 20+ years... Thirdly, because even though we may suck for one year, we are most likely not going to be a great douggernaut this year. This is a multi-year tear down and rebuild. Sucking for one year or so while we rebuild the team with a viable QB - you bet your ass I will sign up for that. It is better than what we have done this century.
  3. Joe Buscaglia‏Verified account @JoeBuscaglia FollowingFollowing @JoeBuscaglia #Bills GM Brandon Beane, on Josh Rosen vaguely said to me that they’d have him in for a visit. I asked him to clarify if he’d be one of their 30 pre-draft visits. Beane: “Oh yeah.”
  4. He isn't gonna be on this team IMO...very small chance. I do want to see us being aggressive, but yet smart, in getting a QB. I think when you couple with with what Gettleman said about trading out of #2 but being smart will require us to make 2 trades; one to get at least or within 10 and then that pick plus whatever to the Giants...
  5. Sal Capaccio ?‏Verified account @SalSports 3m3 minutes ago More Sal Capaccio ?Retweeted Joey B I’m still on the fence about that. Probably, but a chance they might not. I am still much more on the side that he will not be their QB in 2018, though. http://buffalonews.com/2018/02/28/sean-mcdermott-qa-were-not-as-far-along-as-some-think/ Q: Do you plan to have Tyrod Taylor as your quarterback this year? A: When you look at our quarterback position, Tyrod and Nate, those are two good quarterbacks. Tyrod now can add to his resume that he was instrumental in getting us to the playoffs and breaking what was a 17-year drought. You've heard me say it before, his work ethic and intangibles are unmatched, and his leadership that goes along with the position. We're still going through that process. We're in a good position with some options out there. So that will work itself out. Q: How much have you dug into the QBs in the draft? A: Just going chronologically through the offseason here, it's really going through free agency putting the due diligence and the work in on that end. Now getting into the draft. I had an opportunity to go to the Senior Bowl and evaluate and observe some of the players we see here today. Then you add the juniors that are coming out as well. I'm really just getting started on that end of it. We'll put the work in. we do have some picks out there that are good opportunities to improve our football team. Q: How much does the timeline affect your decision on Tyrod Taylor, with the roster bonus due in March? A: It's something obviously that comes into consideration because it is real. It's part of the equation. It's one of the variables as we continue to move forward and go through that process. Q: If a team called interested in Tyrod Taylor for a trade, would you be comfortable moving him? A: As I've said before, Tyrod's a good player. At this point in the process I've learned being around this league around 20 years that it's way too early to take anything off the table. Other than cutting him at this point, which is not in our plans. He's a good football player who has been instrumental in getting us to the playoffs. AT this point in the process, whether it's Tyrod or any of our players, you look at what's out there, you look at your options and you make decisions based on the best interests of your football team.

  7. http://buffalonews.com/2018/02/28/sean-mcdermott-qa-were-not-as-far-along-as-some-think/ Q: You made progress in the AFC East. What work still needs to be done? A: We made a lot of progress in a short amount of time, made some big-time gains in that first year. It was a team effort, really. The biggest thing for us is making sure we hit the reset button. We're not maybe as far along as some people think we are. We've got a lot of work to do. At the same time remaining true to who we are as an organization and our core values. Q: Do you plan to have Tyrod Taylor as your quarterback this year? A: When you look at our quarterback position, Tyrod and Nate, those are two good quarterbacks. Tyrod now can add to his resume that he was instrumental in getting us to the playoffs and breaking what was a 17-year drought. 8. Andrew Brandt‏Verified account @AndrewBrandt 53s54 seconds ago The Glennon signing, like the Eagles/Bradford signing a year before, are cautionary tales for teams signing veterans and also considering 1st round QBs. Days of expensive placeholder quarterbacks are numbered.

  10. I don't feel that at all - McD and McB sold this as a multi-year, tear-down style, rebuild and that is exactly what they are doing. Realistically we should be anywhere between 5-11 and 9-7 next season depending on injuries (low end if Shady goes down). .500 next season would be fantastic...
  11. Shhhh...don't say that you'll make me want to upgrade again!
  12. Ha! Wasn't trying to influence you that much; I just know I drove myself and my wife nuts for a month or so. I finally realized that it just really depends on the features that mean the most to you and in the end - they are all pretty close. The side by side comparisons at best buy and AVS Forum sold me the most (Rtings didn't even review the damn TV until after I bought it...). It came down to picture quality between the Sony's and the brightness over the LG OLED; the Samsung was entirely out of the question at that point. I figured I could live without the deepest of all blacks, since you don't see total black all of the time and that is where this TV had the edge. I looked at Sony's website for authorized retailers and went through all of them for the best price, when I found Value Electronics, I called to see what they could do; and found that you can negotiate with them a bit. What worked well for me was that even though they are NYC based and I am in LA, they had the Sony distributor out here send me mine, so I had it in 2 days. Also, and I was skeptical on this, I did save extra money when I paid them by doing a straight up deposit into their bank account instead of a CC transaction...very painless. And that is the problem, it changes every year. In the end 4K isn't a native signal for anyone yet, so what does the latest and greatest really do for you as far as processing power? It comes down to motion handling, color output, brightness, Blacks, Halo effects etc. The small incremental changes between now and then I don't think will be huge game changers since most of the 4k standards are set and pretty much everything from z9 chipset on will handle it. The next big upgrade in about 5 years or so will be 8K, bigger screen sizes, even thinner and be somewhat like this I imagine https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-unveils-the-wall-the-worlds-first-modular-microled-146-inch-tv
  13. I upgraded from a Sony KDL-55hx800 which honestly was a great TV, but I just felt it was time. I still can't believe I spent what I did on this TV (it is 65" btw), but it is the most amazing piece of technology I have ever bought. Video Games are amazing (even madden looks amazing), 4K movies (especially Deadpool & The Revanent), 3D is the best I have ever seen. I'm actually glad I didn't cheap out for once and got what I really wanted. (Not saying you are - just finally said F' it and lets do it). My rationalization was based on keeping it for 5 years and I was all in for about $3900, which over 5 years works out to about $65/ month or about $2.13/day. I might be an idiot, but that is how I sold it to the misses and myself!
  14. The Sony's beat the sh!t out of the Samsung honestly. I had $1200 worth of Samsung gift cert's for TVs as well, bought a $600 55" for my bedroom and gave the other $600 to my sister. My original intent was to just get a Sammy, but as I researched and went to see. I couldn't pull the trigger for it to be my main TV. Going down this rabbit hole resulted in me only wanting to spend about $1500 of my own money to spending $3499 + $300 tax for the Z9 and the Oppo... I agree with Alaska, the Android Operating system needs some love, but I am used to it now, so not a big issue. Black Levels: "Outside these challenging if infrequent examples, the Bravia KD-65ZD9 put up a credible fight against OLED in the black level department. Helped by 648-zone local dimming and exemplary halo suppression, the Sony managed to hold its own in this shot containing a bright logo surrounded by black backdrop: Where the ZD9 edged ahead of the OLED was in the area just above black. As Sandra Bullock was hurling through space in Gravity, her silhouette appeared more distinct against the night sky, even if the LG OLED rendered the stars brighter and the blacks deeper. To reveal similar amounts of shadow detail, the LG’s [Brightness] and gamma would have to be adjusted to such an extent that the 0 cd/m2 blacks were ruined, or near-black artefacts were harshly exposed. The Sony 65ZD9 also handled above-black region in a cleaner fashion than the LG OLED. In Skyfall (one of the best Blu-ray transfers of all time), the LG delivered the sequence where Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem) approached the chapel with more depth and dimensionality, but we could see the pixels dancing away in the night sky, whereas it looked more stable and less noisy on the Sony." http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/kd65zd9-201610164372.htm Btw - not trying to steer you one way or the other, just trying to share what I went through and my thoughts at that time...
  15. Actually as an elective in graduate studies I enrolled and loved my Ancient Religions class. You should check out the Epic of Gilgamesh, it is an ancient Sumerian story that was written down around 2100BC when people actually had first learned to write... A quick summary will basically break it down to the story of a singular God who talked to someone and told him to build a boat, put his animals on it and that it rained for 6 days and seven nights....Heard that old story before?
  16. F&*K I'll do it for you...I'm a F&%$cking idiot!
  17. I have a Masters in Natural Science & Math with a heavy focus on Geology - it's called plate tectonics, chief. Also, this can only occur on a spherical earth...Just sayin...

  19. So what you are saying about the 900f, is exactly why I went with the Z9d. There will be a software update for Dolby Vision to work on the Z9d via HDMI & USB, but as of now it looks like it will rely on the 3rd pparty hardware manufacturers to help. Thankfully Oppo (which is an amazing player btw.) is all on top of this and as of now Dolby Vision isn't a huge problem at all... " “In January 2018, Sony will release a software update enabling Dolby Vision on select TV models (U.S. model series: Z9D, A1E, X930E, X940E). After the Sony TV receives the software update, devices with Dolby Vision playback (such as streaming media players and UHD Blu-Ray players) that are connected to the Sony TV by HDMI will also require a software update to support Dolby Vision playback through the device. For more information on the timing of a software update for your device, please contact the player device manufacturer.” " Finally, let’s turn to Oppo’s succinct but fortunately promising response: “OPPO is working with Dolby and [chip maker] MTK to overcome this issue. We do not have a timescale as to when we will have a fix, but it is a priority.” So the good news here is that Oppo is clearly committed to delivering the necessary update to make its 4K Blu-ray players compatible with Sony’s DV TVs. The bad news is that it’s a collaborative process that appears to still be in its relatively early stages, with no ‘end date’ in sight. https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/2018/01/24/sony-tv-dolby-vision-problem-update-sony-and-oppo-respond/#17449a25498a You are a smart person and entirely correct. I would be itching for anything over 75" inches next time and those friggin TVs get crazy expensive at that point....
  20. So the $5500 was through Cleveland plasma, not authorized dealers and I heard Sony could break your balls about warranty claims and non-authorized dealers. I also know that is contrary to US law, but didn't want that hassle. Value Electronics was willing to do it for I think it was $6900, but I didn't want to go that high and setllted for the 10" upgrade to a 65". I just looked at my receipt I got the 65Z9 for $3499 and the had a 15% rewards credit, that I put towards the Oppo203, which = $0.00. I only wanted to spend about $3k, but this was a no brainer... So I played around at best buy quite a bit, and the black levels are very close to the LED and it is ridiculously bright, like retina burning - it is great! They actually had a 900e andZ9 next to each other, it wasn't even fair for the 900e.
  21. I wanted the 75", but no way in hell was I spending $5500 on it (I couldn't and still can't believe I spent $3500 on one). I figured the next time I upgrade I will go bigger, I moved up from a 55" set - you need to pace yourself right? LOL At the end of the day I figured out/decided I was going nuts and each had it pluses and minuses; I just had to pick one and jump in. Mine came down to 3D, plus the free upgrading of a late model 2016 to current specs gave me a sense of non-immediate obsolescence and not willing to wait for the A1 to come out. Something better always comes out and it was just the matter of finding the price I wanted. Most places are somewhat negotiable on pricing as well. Best Buy will negotiate a bit on the Magnolia items. I wanted to give my $$ to a small guy...
