  1. We are good and on the same page! I get your point with Brady/Manning - they are/were awesome. Go back to the AFC Championship games and aside from Big Ben, you get the "lesser" QBs. Honestly, I hesitate to even go back past like 2013 with a list like this, the game has just changed so much to favor the passing game. Even if Beane pulls the trigger and misses, it really won't change much than where we have been over the past 17 years; an average at best team. Yeah we will lose a couple second round shots on our next James Hardy's & Terrell Troupe's, we will also miss out on our Donte Whitner's, CJ Spiller's, Leodis McKelvin's & Stephon Gilmore's, but all they did was help us be a middling team that never bottomed out to get a guy without giving up a ton... On a serious note Rosen's, Darnold's and even Mayfield's are not sure things, otherwise no one would pass on them and the draft is a crap shoot; all you can do is find your best odd's and give it a spin. I can't wait to see how FA unfolds when it starts next week, the draft picture will be much clearer...It's a huge draft for us
  2. Just overall bad and disgusting...How I long for the days of Kelly Holcumb
  3. True and this is why we avoided drafting and moving up to get one once TD was ousted!
  4. This is when you don't buy what is being reported...
  5. No worries John It comes down to how much we are willing to give up to get there and how we feel about them. You can't play the could've, would've, should've game and this would have been an excellent draft if we did indeed stay at 10 last year and draft a QB like Watson or Mahomes (my choice after Trubisky); but we didn't. So, the question becomes do you go all in this year? Yes, well be prepared to pay. If you don't, now you have to look at next year and as of now next year's crop does not look good at all. Are you willing to piece meal this together until 2020 and hope there is someone there? I don't think you can since that QB will need a couple years to develop. The longer you wait, this keeps getting delayed. This has to be the year you make a move...
  6. It most certainly does not. We have a record based on 16 games in a regular season 16+16+16=48 = 24 wins & 24 losses = Average. What is our record without Dareus? Without Sammy? You can't just forget about the other guys when someone is out and pretend that the wins do or don't count.... Now if you want to talk about the quality of our starting QB vs our backups, that is a different story. TT is average, the rest are below average = not news has been this way well for a long ass time...
  7. Look at the NFC Superbowl Winners: Warner, Johnson, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Wilson, Foles...Only Johnson & Foles 2 out of 17 = not good enough Look at the AFC Superbowl Winners: Brady, Flacco, Peyton, Big Ben HOF'ers Peyton = Eli, Warner, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Big Ben, Peyton = 14 rings Possible HOF'ers = Wilson = 1 ring Not HOF'ers= Flacco, Johnson & Foles= 2 rings
  8. I don't want the next Wilson...I want the first Darnold or Rosen. Again another one of the common things Bean has said since July 2017 is: "Obviously, you draw them up, from a physical standpoint, they look like Cam (Newton)," Beane said. "But how many are there like that? You want a guy, the stature, the height, you know, they're standing over, they're not worried about linemen in their face. It gives them the vision and all that."
  9. If you think about the picks they will get, provided they hit with them of course, they could re-shape the rest of that team. They could get another run or 2 in with Eli or at the very least when he is done, do their own trade up to grab a QB and have a good core of young talent already to go....
  10. The SB winning QBs from the NFC during this time period are Brad Johnson, Brees, Rodgers, Manning, Wilson and Foles. Foles & Johnson are the only 2 non-franchise guys. That's 2 wins out of 17 tries. Beane is on record saying: "It's a quarterback league. I mean, who are we kidding?" Beane said. "If you look at the playoffs teams, the consistent guys that at least qualify for the playoffs or are close every year, most of them have QBs, most of them have a legit quarterback. If you want to use the word franchise, whatever word you want to use, so I understand that. Cam in Carolina was, is, a franchise quarterback. If you're a GM, you have to find a franchise quarterback. It obviously helps keep you on a consistent playing field if you have one, so I get that."
  11. Microeconomics that is great!! Fitzy knew what to do, he just doesn't have the physical gifts to make the play...You need a vet to teach the rook the things the coaches won't. Fitz was a great teammate and leader that the team loved, he knew how to study film and prepare himself for the games. He just physically couldn't perform at a starter's level... I get the intrigue with Foles, I really do and liked him as a FA. I just don't want to pony up what it will cost to get him, especially if it is at the expense of getting our guy....
  12. Darnold needs a little time, Rosen can start, Allen scares the hell out of me - but man that arm... I would look for someone who can study film and teach the rook - Fitzy would work, as would McCown - neither will cost me a draft choice that I can use to move up Andrew Brandt‏Verified account @AndrewBrandt 2m2 minutes ago Like Bradford, best offer will not be in March but in August after a training camp injury.
  13. Jackson's weaknesses: Inaccurate - Accuracy isn't great (never hit 60%) Thin frame Needs to get stronger for the NFL Poor footwork, which leads to inaccuracy Too much of one of the guys; could stand to be more of a leader Accuracy seems to be important to Bean and I think that with his thin frame causes an issue for a long-term franchise guy. I intentionally looked at a few articles that were not near draft time (May & July 2017) to remove smoke screen bias, Bean has been fairly consistent with his recent interviews (Jan 2018). Terry was also high on Mitchell last year and I am expecting that him being involved is like anyone in business would do, before making a transformational move, the boss has to be on board...
  14. Would rather use the 2 to trade up and get a QB...Foles would have been a good bridge...
  15. I pulled the info from interviews during May 217, July 2017 and Jan 2018 and he has been fairly consistent... He always makes references to Cam - Jackson is not Cam, especially size-wise, well maybe one of Cam's leg's... I'm at work and a bit busy, but am curious to breakdown what QBs fit this mold. Quick guesses are Darnold, Rosen, and Allen...
  16. I would trade him for the 1st or 2nd pick so we we can get a QB.... QB>>>>>>>>>>>>>CB
  17. If Gettleman is smart, he does the opposite of the last regime...
