  1. Not sure if it is really the case (don't really believe it), but a deal could already be done...
  2. Agree with it is up to NYG. Barkley doesn't really fit gettleman's MO and you can find good RBs throughout the draft. They want Nelson and need an interior lineman badly. We need to give them a path to move back and get Nelson IMO... I happen to agree with this line of thinking: Benjamin Allbright‏Verified account @AllbrightNFL 7h7 hours ago If the Giants are truly in "win now" mode, Quenton Nelson (my best player in the draft, fwiw) should be the pick. If they're eyeing the future, should be QB. Benjamin Allbright‏Verified account @AllbrightNFL 6h6 hours ago Saquon Barkley played in 38 college football games. He failed to get to 100 yards rushing in 23 of them. (61%) Benjamin Allbright‏Verified account @AllbrightNFL 5h5 hours ago I'm not trying to bag on Saquon Barkley, he's a good RB. I'm trying to show you why drafting a good RB top 10 is not a winning philosophy. Benjamin Allbright‏Verified account @AllbrightNFL 4h4 hours ago Since 2000, the list of top ten drafted RBs to take their team to a Super Bowl is: Jamal Lewis *Reggie Bush *Bush ran the ball 70 total times for the Saints in 2009, and had been supplanted by Pierre Thomas. Forte Gettlemans Intro presser: “I’d like to have a team that says, ‘Buckle up your chin straps, pally. We’re going to knock your jocks off.’ ” “Tom Coughlin said it to me his first year he came in here,” Gettleman said. “He said, ‘Big men allow you to compete,’ and that’s really just so true.”
  3. I think it is between him and Darnold at 1 for CLE
  4. This is a certainty, which means great talent will be pushed down. This should help us in moving up to 2 (I really hope)
  5. Not exactly true... “We feel really good about our options at six at this time,” Ballard said. “We’re still open, you know, we’ll still be open if the right opportunity presents itself at six to move down. But right now, we feel pretty good. It would have to be a pretty attractive offer for us to move away from six because of the player we think we’re gonna get.”
  6. Those are actually the 2 who are the least riskiest...
  7. Successful QBs greatly diminish as you move down the draft. I don't want a good QB, I want a great one - the longer you wait the harder it gets. In the past, QBs would fall more because of the contract that you had to pay them, teams weren't as willing to take risks. It is different now. McD and the Pegs took the risk last year of bypassing the QBs and winded up with a CB and capital to go get one this year, we have the picks. You can't be overly passive, because you may lose out on what you want. Tom D was sent to the pasture because he didn't act quick enough to move up for Pig Ben. IMO #3 isn't high enough, but it gets you in a good position to swap with the Giants if necessary and have most of the blue chip prospects there (Nelson in their case)... Yes I liked being in the playoffs, but the outcome was expected and that team was never going to be good enough to do any damage. When you are going through a multi-year tear down/rebuild like us, you forgo short-term thinking and play the long... Just because the FO and Coaching staff is better than what we are used to so far - it doesn't matter if they can't address QB... I'm also pissed we let the Jets (the one team who could really screw us) actually screw us. Not to mention, I want them too continue to suck....
  8. Who cares. No shot at a SB without a QB....bad take
  9. It is for #2 or #1 to grab a top shelf QB.... Can always buy a corner with our $100 million next year; cannot buy a franchise QB Exactly. Those who don't study history are doomed to repeat it...You don't F around with QB
  10. QB>>CB and any other position for that matter If picks aren't enough and you need to give talent up - all should be on the block no the last 22 years without a QB has provided us more then enough data to show that QB trumps all...
  11. I would even throw in Shady, Hughes, or Tre White in if necessary. We passed on 2 QBs last year for him and we might miss out on the top ones this year again.... QB>>>CB
  12. They are trying to win now. I find it fairly obvious via their moves thus far. The need players to help them win now...
  13. we have $100 million next year, you can buy everything but a QB....this is the way we have built our rosters since JP...it's a terrible idea. Let's keep doing the same thing over and over again
  14. You need 12 and something higher than 22+ to package to move up into the top 2 IMO. I would think we have to get #22 moved up into the teens and then package both of those picks + some to move up.... Ballard said he will listen to move down from 6, which means if Beane wanted to he could have moved in front of the Jets - for some reason he chose not to. I have to believe he let that happen for a reason...
  15. Doesn't it though? Just yesterday in a thread I mentioned the Jets scared me....ball is in Beane's court
  16. Greg Gabriel‏ @greggabe 57s58 seconds ago If Buffalo ends up with one of the 2nd tier QB’s I’m not so sure that guy won’t end up better than some of the top tier guys
