  1. Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet 6m6 minutes ago With a huge need at center given the Eric Wood career-ending injury, the #Bills are hosting #Bengals free agent C Russell Bodine on a visit today and tomorrow, source said.
  2. That's the coach/GM speak because he also said his phone is still open to moving from down 6, at that point he could have just said TB, Chi or SF give me a call, every one else can go f- themselves. The difference between 10 and 12 is only 2 spots, but he will want an over payment like the Jets. It's not the cost to move from 12 to 2 that's prohibitive, it is the cost from 12 up to 6/7 plus the move to 2. In order to move to 3, Beane would have had to give both 1s and a 2+; I am sure the Colts would rather have have firsts than seconds- they need players. From there he would still have to move to 2, but I am not sure NYG wants 3 after 2 QBs go, they could lose out on a windfall of picks. I think Beane knew that and is now stuck...
  3. Maybe its my BBBFS, but I am sure we will get "his guy", just as we do every year with the typical GM/coach speak. After yesterday's trade from 6 to 3, the cost of moving to 2, is basically being us needing to move higher; most likely at the 6/7 spot while preserving our 2 firsts and seconds in the process - this will cost us picks next year as well (we also don't have many more players to us ala Cordy to try and move up). I just don't see Beane and the Bills giving up that much draft capital so I do believe Beane in the fact that we are at 12 and that is it...I think as a fan base, we better really start putting our minds and looking at who can make it from this second tier... I hope I am wrong, but I actually think he may have been being pretty honest yesterday...
  4. I'm sure they gave him a chance to beat it and he said no. The question that needs to be answered is why. The Colts have said they will listen to offers for 6, so I wouldn't be so sure that staying in the top 10 wasn't entirely imperative for them. That comment could easily be tied to not giving out what other teams were interested. Staying in the top 10 vs 12...meh it's 2 ****ty picks... Also it could very easily have been GM speak, just like we are comfortable paying TT and that they had no intention of moving before Glenn...
  5. I was 7 in 84 and that is when I started...it's been a long time... And wide wright was on my 14th birthday
  6. Goff was a #1 pick....Rudolph=solid starter= Dalton. Good enough to win some games for you, not bad enough to move on from.... Bridgewater was a waste of a pick and don't try to sell me on Jackson...I'm sick of "dynamic" QBs and the dumbass wildcat...Can't we get a QB who will stay in the pocket and actually throw the ball?
  7. Goodbye Tre! Hell I would include him in a move to #2. Can always find a CB in FA, especially with $100 million in space next year. Hell they can have Hughes and Shady too...I was furious last year we stuck with TT and now we finally dump him and we are stuck in no mans land. So Billsy...
  8. IIRC Terry liked Trubisky and he really was not an option for us.
  9. And that is a big problem that could lead us down the same path....not willing to move on and trying to surround them with more talent....
  10. I agree with everything, but I'm not ready to call the Jets GM as smarter than Beane. Part of our problem was passing last year on 2 QBs because we stupidly kept Whaley and didn't trust his opinion and we let our HC and owners make the call to punt QB to this year....possibly this is another epic billsy failure of trying to be too cute
  11. and we passed on Watson & Mahomes at a shot at those guys this year...
  12. Ballard said he will still take offers and has no problem moving back more. The only reason I could see us not going to 3 was to stay back and save more picks for NYG, who have 5 picks total. NYG needs to windfall of picks to retool around Eli. Going to 3 was not going to get that done.... I won't even waste money on Sunday Ticket if that is what we head into the season with....
  13. Love your confidence, but the more I think about this, I'm not sure we are prepared to pay this cost. In one regard, I want to say we should have taken the 3 and then worked on swapping with the Giants ala Bears and 49ers last year. That would have been an easier move; however with 5 picks in the draft the Giants are most likely looking for that windfall of picks - this very likely could force them to look elsewhere and have someone jump us at 3. The path forward is very very narrow and very costly now and I'm not sure we will be willing to meet the cost. Beane has to go all out for 6 now in order to give the giants a big enough package... Overall what is a kick in the balls is that we passed on talent last year to take a shot this year and it may not turn out that way. For a team that needs a QB, we could very well have passed on Watson, Mahomes, Darnold, Allen, Rosen & Mayfield and end up with the second tier this year. Not really encouraging at all...
  14. I hope this is the case. I do like Rosen, Darnold & Mayfield; the only one I would sell the farm for would be Rosen... Keeping Whaley through last year's draft may have been a terrible idea in hindsight, as that cost us Watson or Mahomes. This move pushed us into going for the QB this year and I just do not see us trading to take the top guy...
  15. As I stewed in misery and irritation today, it has now become apparent that yesterday's press conference was Beane knowing he wasn't going to make the trade to 3 with the Colts. It is very apparent now. I tip my hat to the posters yesterday and today who caught on to this. I really don't even believe that we will be trying to trade into the top 5, I am almost certain that we are looking at the next tier of QBs and are mostly done trading.
  16. we still have to get higher in the draft - this may not be accurate and anything can change obviously....
