  1. So we better get lucky in the top 5 picks or so or we are screwed....After the top couple, the rest are hot garbage
  2. I can't find it now, but I did read an article (think it was a transcript from a convo on WGR actually) where it was basically stated that we were in on Trubisky, but as the draft fell McD decided that he wanted to kick the QB can down the road because he felt he could win with TT and didn't have a a good enough level of trust of our soon to be let go staff to take a shot. McD felt it was best to trade back, take the pic and kick the can to this year. Terry P signed off on it...Whaley was pushing hard for Mahomes the whole time and we had Trubisky high on our board... I will look to see if I can find it. It was from a reliable name as well....
  3. Sounds like this guy to me: Athletic passer with solid physical skills. Quickly sets up with good pass placement, immediately gets the ball off on a three-step drop or easily passes on the move. Times the outs well, zips throws to the flanks or puts the ball in front of targets, giving receivers a chance. Goes to the safe underneath route if nothing else is available. Stands strong in the pocket and buys time for receivers
  4. I am terrified of this happening. It is like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion, that you know is going to happen, and you have no way of stopping it...
  5. I think we will be into next year's 1 & 2 in order to go up in addition to this years top 2 or 3 rounds...I don't think the giants will want to slide to 12. They would rather have Nelson + the 22 and so forth I agree
  6. I should be careful how I say that, it will take the top 3 rounds of of this draft and possibly the top 2 of next year; which is why I said we don't have enough...
  7. I don't think we have enough or the a highest 1 to make it worth while for the Giants...
  8. And you are...See the Bills since 2000. Hundreds of prospects, no QBs No QBs get your to 7-9 & -7 with an occasional 6-10and if you are lucky 10-6. Also checkout the AFC championship game Qbs since 2000 and the SB winning QBs. If you don't have a great QB, you don't win that often...
  9. Apparently Goodberry works for The Athletic... Joe Buscaglia‏Verified account @JoeBuscaglia 3m3 minutes ago Joe Buscaglia Retweeted Goodberry Some more evidence as to why this might just be for depth/competition if the #Bills sign him. Goodberry‏Verified account @JoeGoodberry Replying to @manecci Good: Started a ton of games (64) and is still relatively young (25). Has taken small steps in improvement. Bad: About 60 of those games aren't good. Lacks athleticism, core strength, length and Bengals have been destroyed on stunts/games up the middle.
  10. I'm not even comparing them as passers; they are both QBs who can run and that is a certain style of offense, which is fairly apparent by now that we don't want to run. If we did, TT would still be here as a back up IMO, since the offense would be tailored around that type of skill set. It is also a style that Beane doesn't necessarily want either - sandlot football and you take hits. This is from may last year, not really any smokescreen at this point. " Brandon Beane: Yeah, I mean, calculated risk... whatever you want to call it. There are some times when they are going to have to thread the needle. It's third and long, and it's late in the game, and we've got to get this play, and they're going to put a spy on the quarterback or something like that... he's got to stand in there, trust his reads, trust his progressions... and sling it and make the throw. You have to do that. In college, you see a lot of running quarterbacks that can just make a play with their own. Everything breaks down and it becomes sandlot football, and you do see some plays in the NFL, but the speed is so different here. It takes a special player to do it, and to do it often... and again, the pounding that you take. We saw that in Carolina last year. Cam took more hits last year than he had in the previous years, so, it's a tough league. And again, I'll go back to it: You have to be able to throw from the pocket. " Rudolph is the one you take a shot with IMO, but I just don't like him. Far from a QB evlauator but I like Rosen, Mayfield and would take a shot with Darnold. Allen intrigues me as a mid-first round shot if no one else interesting is around, his accuracy scares the hell out of me...
  11. Even after signing McCarron, the former Bengals backup, to a two-year deal, Buffalo is still clearly a team in the market for a QB. The talk I'm hearing around league circles has the Bills coveting Wyoming QB Josh Allen. With five of the first 65 picks in their possession, including two first-rounders, keep an eye on the second (Giants) and fourth (Browns) overall picks as potential trade targets for Buffalo. The Jets and Colts set the market for what it will cost to trade up for a top QB in this draft. It won't be cheap, but I expect the Bills to aggressively attempt to move up for a quarterback, whether it's Allen or someone else. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000921139/article/five-teams-most-likely-to-pick-qb-in-first-round-of-2018-nfl-draft?campaign=tw-articleshare
  12. If Jackson was Cam's size I would consider it, but he isn't. I also think he should play WR, he is amazing with the ball in his hands while running and making plays; he is electrifying. I want that in a WR, not a QB. A QB's job is to get the ball in the hands of your playmakers; JMO of course....
  13. but it is that difficult. We have a generation of fans who are used to this style of roster building from us - horrendous records be damned.
  14. He also said: We feel really good about our options at six at this time,” Ballard said. “We’re still open, you know, we’ll still be open if the right opportunity presents itself at six to move down. But right now, we feel pretty good. It would have to be a pretty attractive offer for us to move away from six because of the player we think we’re gonna get.” I also know they are targeting Chubb... I'll eat my hat if they take a QB. They have 5 picks and by all looks of their FA, they are building around Eli right now...
  15. Watson's accuracy is not great...The TT comparisons go back to the style of offense we would run....
  16. Maybe I'm the traditionalist here, but I don't like running QBs. The league has shown time and time again that they flame out and those offenses are pretty close to what we had with TT, just stay in the pocket and throw the damn ball. With his frame, the last thing you want is him running and getting smashed...he will get hurt...
